Thank you everyone that is looking out for my beautiful Gem. I have checked the website in Carmarthenshire, but it is not Gem. Gem has a lot of white around her kneck. My family and I appreciate everyone that is trying to find Gem. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Kate i'm so sorry to hear about Gem. Keep your chin up, if we can get Gem's face everywhere, there's a good chance she'll be found. I have added Gem's details onto the front page of our website http://www.home-a-dog.co.uk/ we get over 2000 hits a month, so hopefully can spread the word further afield.

have just read this thread and am horrified by what has happened.  I live close to Binfield so will keep my eyes peeled and also take a poster into Moor Cottage vets and also Binfield Dog Rescue.

Please can everyone in the Teesside area keep their eyes peeled, as I have had a report of some people resembling those who took Gem. The Teesside people approached a lady and were asking questions about her dogs in a way she found worrying.

Our darling Gem will need to be exercised and do her toilets whereever she has been taken, we think possibly in the Binfield area of berkshire or Llandovery are of Carmarthenshire. We are apealing to everyone in the Country.

What an awful situation this is ,poor Gem and the owners who obviously think the world of there precious dog.Each time I go on this site there is something even worse that has happened to some poor dog.I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that these horrible people get caught and punished for the heartache they have caused.

We are the owners of Gem, and we are apealing to every Vet in the whole country to watch for Gem a Female Border Collie, just incase anyone brings her into a Veterinary Surgery for a Health Check.

i am very upset that gem has been snatched as i was her foster mum for 6 weeks at the beginning of the year. she is a lovely dog and doesn't deserve anymore drama in her life.  the dog on preloved is not gem.

The people who we think may be involved in the taking of Gem come from Berkshire area and the area where Gem may possibly end up is Carmarthenshire.  If anybody knows anybody in these areas please spread the word and ask about.

We would really appreciate anybody anywhere in the country to help with the safe return of Gem.  Whole family absolutely devastated, mam hasn't stopped crying.  Mam is in very bad health, can not walk far and these awful horrible creatures knocked her to the ground and stole Gem, throwing her leader at my mam and running off with her.  Three people involved, man approx 55-60yrs weather beaten face, grey hair and stocky build, woman approx 30-40yrs (could tell by eyes) mask over her face and scarf wrapped around, third person sitting waiting in White old Ford Escort Estate vehicle at bottom of track, Gem thrown into the vehicle and sped off.  Mam tried so hard to run after them screaming, shouting and crying but can hardly walk to start with.  An ambulance had to be called for mam she was in such a state.  So please if anybody can help with this, any information is sincerely appreciated.  Mam and Dad has put a reward of ?1000 cash for the return of their beloved Gem.

After contacting owner advice was not to actally specify an amount. Details in the ''other info'' specify reward and large cash reward.  if you are cross posting maybe you would state this rather than an amount as from previous cases this is often the best way. CJ

Sorry back on now. I do apologize this is a temporary site until we can raise the funds to pay for the re build to our original site. We were severely hacked ( ie destroyed ) last year...and this temporary site can be tempremental to say the least!  If its annoying you imagine how we co-ordinators feel   The good news is we are weeks away from the new site...the bad news...we have not yet raised the funds. So very, very sorry to hear about this - my heart goes out to you. A similar thing happened a few years ago in our village - local paper was excellent and printed story and photo on front page.  Dog was recognised by member of the public 10 days later, less than 2 miles away, police acted immediately and dog was returned to owners.  Do put pressure on your local papers to publish this incident.  All best wishes.

Kate I am so sorry to read what has happened. This is truly awful and if you must do as Majorjet has said and report this crime to the police if you have not already done so ! POSTER everywhere you can and ask people you know to display smaller posters in the rear side windows of their cars. Also contact your local papers and ask them to report this in their next issue. Kate, I can't believe this has happened to you in this way but from helping out on doglost for a few months I do know there are some despicable excuses for human beings around.  I wish I was nearer to help you but sadly am not.  You must poster, poster, poster, get the word out and make Gem too hot to handle.  I will watch Gem's page and hope that good news comes your way very soon.  I have everything crossed for her safe return.

I am so sorry to read this. Please try to stay strong. We will do all we can to help. Make sure you poster all the pubs in the area and further out - as this is often where dogs are sold on. You need to make her too hot to handle, so that everywhere people look they see posters of her. Good Luck.

My dog was snatched from me while I was taking her for a walk, the man was a stocky build middle aged and the woman looked in her 30's by the look of her eye's as she had her coat hood up and she wore a mask across her mouth so she could not be identified. I think they had been watching my moves when I or my husband had been taking her for walks. We are both devistated as this is the second dog we have lost in two month, the other dog was a Border Collie but he died through medical reasons. Please find my beautiful Gem.
