- There have been 2 hoax phone calls regarding sightings of Gemma last Saturday, which is disturbing - as wonder what goes through these people heads. I'm speaking to Gemmas owner regularly (who tonight had another call saying she was sighted last week near to where she went missing) - The caller was going to ring back with more details/info but hasnt rung back. Dog wardens are being RECONTACTED Oldham, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Manchester, Leeds --- stray kennels (and smaller rescues) need to be visited again to see if she has been taken in. Stay safe Gemma xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hello everyone it's Kathy here from West Yorkshire Dog Rescue, I rehomed this dog to the home from which she escaped by slipping her collar. thanks all for your help. I'm asking a favour now.... Is it possible to get an email out with the poster to a distribution list that covers a wide area of the north, Gemma travelled 30 miles in the first 2 days she was lost from Kirkheaton near Huddersfield, last sighting near Dovestones Resevoir Greenfield. We have postered Huddersfield areas, Saddleworth areas, Holmfirth areas but are running out of steam and need help because if she travels another 30 miles from Greenfield she could be in Manchester, Staylbridge, Glossop and from there down into Derbyshire and there is no way just me and Helene the new owner can cope. She runs along roads, has no traffic sense, and was followed for 5 miles at 25 miles an hour by one frantic lady who was trying to help Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks Julesinchaos any help is really appreciated.! Any help you can give is brilliant .... Thanks so much !!!! There haven't been any further sightings as of today, but Kathy is going to contact Huddersfield Examiner and Oldham Chronicle to try get a piece in there if possible. If she is just on the run she could end up in any area so we need to keep all options open at the moment . Dog wardens in areas mentioned in the earlier posts will be notified tomorrow too. Info has been sent to Rochdale Dog Rescue, and contact made with Manchester Dogs home. Offers of help have been received from a couple of riding schools in the area and a dog training centre in Dovestones. Hope to get another sighting soon. Keep safe in the meantime Gemma xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Went to Dovestones, lots of people looking at the poster in the carpark so hope there is another sighting soon. Can't imagine her heading down into Saddleworth, too busy?

- Spoke to Kathy again, Gemma was sighted in DOVESTONES RESERVOIR / GREENFIELD area around 2pm Saturday ( yesterday ) She was running down the road... a lady in car stayed behind her for about 30 minuted with her hazard lights on to stop her being hit by cars. She then lost her. Gemma could head in any direction from there which we are unsure about but could go towards areas such as, Saddleworth , Glossop, Ashton, Manchester . It would be helpful if anyone can get posters up if in any of those areas so we can poster AHEAD of Gemma, which would help with any more sightings being reported.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Spoke to Kathy very late last night and this girl is VERY timid so definitely needs people being aware of her and reporting where she has been sighted but PLEASE dont try to catch her as she will just bolt. We need to keep her in one area if its possible. Hopefully more sightings will come in and then can try establish which way she is heading So , if she IS seen please ring the number on the poster initially . with the time of of sighting and exact location where possible I can be available at the drop of a hat tomorrow (Sunday ) If needed just ring asap Monday I am back at work so it is more restricted in what I can do :-(. Kathy has my number we spoke Friday night but for others info my mob no is 07854 645298. Helen xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I'm out walking a lot this weekend. I saw her heading down the fields towards Berry Brow/Hall Bower/Newsome Thursday eve. Will be on the lookout, only saw a side view but looked very much like her and will be on the lookout and take photo if I can't get near.

- Have alerted Kath who runs the rescue where Gemma was homed from, very possible that this dog is Gemma, postering will be done in the area. Gemma is of a very very nervous disposition so please, if anyone spots her try and keep her in sight and phone the number on the poster.
Thanks so much for alerting us Jules.

- Where did she go missing?
I saw a dog just like her near Castle Hill last night towards Berry Brow before seeing this here. Couldn't get near her as she was so nervous and I had my own dogs so took them back home, but of course she'd gone by then?
