I'm so sorry you still haven't got Amber back. As a fellow dog owner / dog lover, I really feel for you and your family. I'm sure it's the not knowing. You really couldn't have tried harder, or done anything more.
There are thousands of us dog-walkers out here though. We all talk to other dog owners, and get to know the dogs in our patch. Many of the people who have read your posters would still remember if ever they did see her. Don't give up, it's a small world.

I have not been on here in quite some time now as it still breaks my heart each time. Life has taken hold again and in some ways I have given up on getting her back. I cry almost every day and I can t believe she is not back with her family where she belongs. She would have come into season last month so if somebody has kept hold of her to breed from her and make some money then come January, there may be some pupos being advertised so please look out for this. I would like to thank everyone for thier time, energy, help and support and esp to doglost who gave me so much hope and enthusiasm plus knowledge of what best to do. the council have finally taken down all of my posters from their noticeboards and I dont blame them as it's now been over 6 months since she went missing. All of my family miss her incredibly and my 4 year old and 2 year old still talk about her as if she is here. I just hope that one day someone is kind enough to return her.....please let her be safe and please be a nice kind person to bring her home.

i have not had the heart to log on here over these last couple of weeks. My sadness and heartache plus worry just cannot be explained with words. I have had a few calls recently saying that they believe they saw Amber but a few days before they have phoned me which is great but I cant then rush out to check out the sighting. I just feel so helpless! Im so sad that she is not back with us especially now the weather seems to be turning. PLEASE COME HOME......XX

Reluctantly I was away on holiday last week which had been booked for many months...we even purposefully booked a cottage that took dogs so Amber could come with us(you were so missed Amberchops and I thought about you every day. You would have loved coming out with us) I did receive one call whilst away as someone believed that they saw her in the field again near Hook Lane/Bromwich Lane. Many, many thanks to Robbie and Jan101 who kindly took the time to go to the area and look about on my behalf...thank you so much. One house in Bromwich Lane does have 2 JR's so this lead may be a red herring. Not much else to report....Jan-will call you tomorrow so hopefully speak then. (sorry couldn't phone sooner as the recep in Cornwall went up and down as we travelled) House feels even more empty now we're back and have shed many tears again. Really, really, really need you back Madam as miss you so much!

Robbie and I have been out again this week and have been looking over Kites Croft and Chilling Farm way but to no avail again. It's very difficult as I cant get out until after the children are in bed so not sure if this is a time when maybe Amber would be out and about on her travels. It has seemed to be that the majority of sightings have been early morning or late afternoon, which for me is an impossibility to get out and about. Have put up a couple more posters and have handed leaflets to everyone that I meet and all have been aware of her disappearance. Really need another sighting. My family and I are away on holiday next week which again is so frustrating as we have hired a cottage which takes dogs as she was our life and would have come with us. It is still heartbreaking as our whole lives revolved around Amber and now it feels like we have been put on hold. My children still play 'dogs' and talk about our family which includes Amber. I choke each time they mention her as I know they are hurting and missing her so much. Please someone out there find her and bring her back to us.....and thank you for continuing to help and give me the much needed support (on here and the many texts/email messages I get) in order to carry on looking for her. I really appreciate it.

A gentleman kindly pohoned me today to see that he is adamant that he saw Amber yesterday on the slip road heading towards Whiteley. Unfortunately he could not stop as not safe to do so but telephoned me as soon as he saw one of my posters. He described Amber exactly and is so sure that it was her. Due to these 2 sightings, it looks like she is now travelling following the stream from the shore near Chilling Farm and then exploring up to Segensworth Ind Estate. These 2 sightings are at the top end of the stream and midway following it back towards the shore. She is closer to home and sensibly staying near water. There is miles and miles of farmland and woodland area over this way so impossible to trace the stream and leave trails. The last few days I have put up more posters over near Abshot Road in the dog walking areas and today put some up near Kites Croft that had been taken down. I also took all my children for a walk in the woods and left some scent around the stream to let Amber know that we have been there if she goes there soon to drink on her travels. Robbie and I also went for a walk heading from where she was sighted the other day near Hook Lane, right down towards Chilling Copse and there is just miles of farmland and seperate copses, an ideal hideout for a small dog. I have spoke to many people on my travels and as soon as I, or one of my kids, mentioned we had lost a dog, all of them instantly knew we were talking about Amber. Everyone will continue to spread the word for me that she is still missing. I am trying to compose a list of numbers for local farm owners, which is proving a bit difficult as cant find their numbers easily. I will phone these as soon as I can and let them know about Amber and to look out for her. Lastly, I must give a HUGE thanks yet again for my guardian angel, Robbie, who continues to go out walking in the area looking for Amber and has helped me put up posters and continues to be such a strength of support. And also a massive thanks to everyone else out there on the look out for me, I am so grateful to everyone!! x

I have been away for the weekend so couldn't update but GREAT NEWS!!!! Amber was sighted last Friday 7th along Warsash Road in a field just before Hook Lane playing in a ditch with another Jack. the couple who saw the dogs said that they called the one which they thought was Amber and she seemed to start making her way towards them until the other dog barked. My posters are working again though as the couple drove to find one of my posters in order to phone me. I phoned jan, the DW, who went along but unfortunately could not see the dogs but spoke to the people who live in Bromwich House who have a few JR's but these never leave the garden so Jan was sure that it was not these dogs. There is much shelter to be had in this area plus a running stream so plenty of places for Amber to hide and get water. I really hope that it is her but just dont know how to get her back. Will try and get in touch with other houses in that area to ask them to keep a look out. Come home now Amber. My boys were talking today about being good and went on to say that all of our family has been good today including Amber...she always gets a mention by my boys when talking about the family so really need our family back together again!!!!

Robbie and I were out again last night replacing posters around the Warsash Common area. I feel so helpless and desperate. Im trying my hardest to keep it together but not knowing where Amber is just hurts so much. I cannot begin to explain how much she is missed. Really need her back. Family life is tough as my 2 year old is very poorly with tonsilitus so i feel even more stressed. Not much to report I'm afraid. A lady did bring a dog that she had rescued a couple of weeks ago round to our house as she had seen the posters going up in the council's noticeboards but, although it did look similiar to Amber, it was not. My heart was in my mouth when she came round hoping that it was our gorgeous dog. On a positive note this proves that the posters are being seen.

Aunt Stef-it is great that the Council are being incredibly supportive now and in particular Mary Nadolski and Jack Englefield who have been a great help. Also Andy Collins from the Council's depot has been fantastic in getting my posters picked up and in the noticeboards around the borough yesterday. I am eternally grateful and hope this continues to raise awareness. I did look on the council's found dog list and no joy I'm afraid.(thank you for the info tho) Fareham BC dog warden is absolutely fantastic so I knew without any hesitation that the dog found would not be Amber as I know that Jan would contact me immediately if she knew that any dog found could possibly be Amber. Jan still has a poster of Amber up in her van and continues to be a tower of strength and support for me. I did phone her yesterday just in case but it def was not Amber. Last night Robbie and I managed to get some posters back up in the Warsash area and just concentrated on the prime dog walking areas so at least these are now covered. We met a few concerned residents along the way who were already informed of Amber's disappearance and had been on the look out. It is still so welcoming to know that so many people are aware of Amber and are concerned. Thank you all for continuing to support me, it gives me the strength and positivity to go on! Weather permitting, Robbie and I will be out again Sun eve to get posters back up in the LocksHeath/Titchfield Common area in prime dog walking locations. Fingers crossed!!!!!!

This will make such a difference & I'm pleased that they can see when someone who has been postering responsibly needs their assistance. I would like to thank the councillors concerned for their stance on this & I would paticularly like to thank Jack Englefield for putting Amber in the newsletter.This makes for a much better relationship all round. Yasa-Keelah did e-mail me and I replied but not heard anything since...she just asked me to update her which i did but this was a while ago now. Jan-will look at those other ref numbers you have suggested, thanks. Good news today as I received a call from a man at the council who asked me for some posters to put up in the noticeboards in the Borough. He said that at least 24 noticeboards will be covered which is about half the amount in the Borough of Fareham and will cover Warsash, Titchfield (& T.Common), Sarisbury, and all the way to Stubbington where I live. He even got someone to come around this morning to pick them up from me which was absolutely fantastic!!!! They will go in either end of this week  or next Monday, and will remain in longer than the standard 2 weeks and will be reviewed after 4 weeks. Hopefully this will continue to publicise the fact that Amber is still missing. Another Councillor, Jack Englefield has written up a piece in his newsletter about Amber which will be delivered to about 6000 houses in Titchfield once printed. He will come to my house tomorrow to ensure that I am happy with what he has written. I am incredibly grateful to the help that I am now being given especially with regards to the Council and really hope that this will bring Amber back to where she belongs. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and support. Lets hope this brings her back. My whole family miss her so much, the house is still so empty...

Thank you everyone for your texts and messages. Good news with regards to my posters......Mary Nadolski came back to me and has given me permission to put up a few posters in the dog walking areas of Warsash and she has e-mailed the council to ensure that these remain in place!!!!!!! She has also offered to take posters in to FBC and get them put up in the notice boards in the area and ensure that they stay in longer than the normal 3 weeks!!! This is great news and I very much appreciate Mary's help and support in finding Amber. Now it's full steam ahead again with the postering in agreed areas. This will be my mission as of tomorrow evening as today the weather is not on my side as we have had downpours all day. Robbie- I will text you to let you know this info and hope to see you soon.

Good to talk  with you the other day Vicky. You are all doing a brilliant job & I hope the council come back to you with the information that they have promised.Whilst the poster situation is being somewhat muted by this councillor perhaps it would be an idea to try & get some more of the posters or flyers in places that wouldn't offend, such as groomers , dog training or agility classes , any of the mini cab firms in or near the area , professional dog walkers/minders , all boarding kennels,any dog breeders,anglers clubs,golf clubs even the local WI,anywhere that might have a hall,meeting or reception area with a notice board. Do keep trying,with time I'm sure it will bring results.

Thank you, thank you, thank you again!!! I have also e-mailed Mary Nadolski who promptly replied to my e-mail today. She said that a few people had complained about the volume of posters so she allegedly asked the council to remove SOME of the posters. She said that the ones that are still in place will remain untouched...not sure exactly where these posters are as on my last visit to the area all of them bar a couple actually inside Warsash Common had been removed. Unfortunately no help or advice was forthcoming so i have e-mailed again to ask that if it was just the volume that was the problem, then would it be OK to put a few up in prime dog walking areas. Am awaiting a response so will update as soon as I have news. Robbie-you certainly sound like you are prepared for battle with your being 'armed' with posters! Thank you, and thanks for making me chuckle!! I also still have some at home of the last batch you kindly printed up. Lets hope I can start postering again and then maybe we will start getting those all important sightings again!

Hi, Not sure if Mary is the same Councillor, but she is the Ward Councillor for the Area and does live locally to where most of the posters are/were, so draw your own conclusion, but there are other NIMBY's about who love to call themselves Councillors/Community Representatives so who knows! We will keep looking for Amber, I remind all my Friends and Workmates in the area each time I see them.

Fantastic work Jim, I take it this is not the same councillor who insisted the posters should be removed??
What would be ideal is for the Council to allow the posters to be put up and making the local people aware that Amber is STILL missing, as soon as she is found I will go round and take down every poster.
I am ready and armed with posters.
Now lets see if the councillors are willing and able to help us find Amber.

Jim and Robbie--thank you again so much for your continued efforts to help me get Amber back. I am eternally grateful. I have still not heard back from FBC with ideas as to what exactly I can do to help raise the awareness that Amber is still missing so will chase this up very soon. I have, however, spoke to Jack Englefield who is a Councillor for Titchfield Common and Park Gate who will very kindly put a notice in his newsletter about Amber still being missing. It is good to know that some Councillors will go out of their way to help! Unforrtunately life for me these past few weeks have been incredibly busy and have not allowed me to be actively searching for Amber which has broke my heart. Life and health prevent me from looking with such intensity as before so I really needed the power of the posters and kindness of people to help return her safely. As Robbie pointed out...the lack of sightings has coincided with the posters being removed which is incredibly disheartening. I really hope people still have my number and phone if they see her. Thank you again to everyone! Please come home Amber, we need you so much xx

well I did take the liberty of writing to Mary Nadolski, the Ward Councillor for the area: Dear Mary,
 
As you may have noticed from the posters put up in the Warsash area there is a small dog lost in the area and has been for some time, the owner (Vicky) is actively looking nearly every day for Amber along with a few friends, as the local councillor for the area we would appreciate your help in anyway to publicise the search for Amber and support the poster campaign to find her, please also be assured that once she is found every single poster will be removed from the whole area.
 
we are relying on sitings of Amber to allow her to be tracked and re-united with Vicky, this can take some time, dogs will often stay in an area but in a feral state for some weeks if not months.
 
If you can please take the time to read the thread on the Doglost website to see the efforts that have gone in so far to locate Amber.

Hi, am still out there looking for Amber. Have you had anymore info from the council regarding what one can do if you cannot put posters up. It seems the trail has gone stone cold since all the posters have come down While I’m here I would like to say thanks to the moaning councillor and would love to meet her face to face and tell her my true feelings of her, who do they really represent? us the public or just themselves???

Robbie-thank you again so much, I would not have managed without you!!!!! Netty-thanks for the info on the other dogs, i will check them out. I finally received a call back from the council who apologised that i had not been informed about my posters being taken down and for the way in which they were taken down. He also apologised for not responding quickly due to holidays. He said that it is actually illegal to put up these type of notices/posters but normally HCC (Hants County Council) are sympathetic and will turn a blind eye for a few weeks. HCC did say to me that they were not concerned with the posters being up but a lady councillor in Warsash made such a fuss complaining about the posters that she insisted that FBC (Fareham Borough Council) take them down immediately. I am awaiting another call from FBC to explain to me exactly what I can do to keep the word out there that she is still missing. Will try to contact the Newspapers again. I just feel so lost, helpless, and defeatist. I'm just breaking down all the time in front of my young children which is not good at all. Just really want her back. I hope you are safe, warm in all this rain and feeding well Amber x

Hi Vixster, Have been out most evenings looking for Amber and in the early mornings when I have finished working the night shift but no joy. Maybe we should put the finger up to the local council and start putting the posters back up so as to inform the local residents that Amber is STILL missing, we are a country of animal lovers.are we not??? (only trouble is the council may fine you)  I will keep looking.

Have you checked out the Jack Russell found number 18819, there is no photo, but is white and tan, and worth a look if not done already. I have not posted here for a while as not been well and then my son and partner took me on a surprise holiday, but have been hoping that Amber would be in the blue when i logged on next. Thank you to everyone who continues to help and support me in getting Amber back. I have not logged on for a while as nothing to report. My hubby was away working up in London all last week so i could not even get out and about. I'm totally at a loss as to what to do next. I dont know where to start looking for her or what to do as still no sighting now for almost 4 weeks!!!!! It is very difficult for me to get to local businesses as I cant get out to those areas during the day to ask thme to put up posters. There are only a few businesses in Titchfield common that could put up posters and i have already got posters at the country club, nursery and pre-school, and local Tesco Express plus pub and community centre. Other than that there are no more around. Similiar in Warsash...it is such a small village that there are only a few businesses around and these have had my posters up so not sure what i can do. I could go down this evening and pop another poster through their doors but have no way of checking really that they have put it up for me as cant get there during the daytime. It feels like such an impossible situation and i feel so helpless. :-(

jan101 - thank you so much for your help. As I said to vixster yesterday, perhaps try to concentrate on 'inside' posters which can help a lot. Inside offices, taxi ranks, train and bus stations, garages, cafe's, clinics, doctors, schools, cars, libraries, pet stores, riding stables, grooming parlours, village halls, clubs, pubs, and restaurants, etc etc. We WILL beat them, and get Amber back !

Bud's Mum-Unfortunately I have not had a sighting now for about 19 days which is incredibly worrying.....the council have pulled all of my posters down which may be the reason that I'm not receiving anything else.   Thumper73/Jim-many thanks for the info re councillors. I still have not hear back from the gentleman who is supposedly phoning me so I will contcat them as soon as I can. I am home alone this week as hubby is working up in London which makes everything all that more difficult. i also have a few incredibly hectic days with the children so not sure exactly when i can follow this all up. I am really feeling her disappearance this week as have so many other things to deal with and with my hubby being away, the house feels even more empty. She was the only thing that made me feel secure being on my own and now she's not here.....I really cant handle this and want her back so much. I dont know how to express how I am feeling as words just do not seem strong enough to explain the pain! I just hope that she is still OK and still in the area, or trying to find her way home and is soon close enough to find her way home.

Thanks ever so! Jim-Is Sean Woodward H.C.C or F.B.C? I received call from Hants CC today and they said that the posters were not them but Fareham BC were the ones who removed them. Allegedly a councillor from Warsash demanded that the posters be removed immediately and asked HCC. HCC said that they would do it at some point as unless it was an emergency, they would not take them down immediately. FBC were then instructed to take them down. I have been told that a FBC department called 'street scene' carried out these instructions and allegedly the department head will be ringing me, or will get one of his colleagues to. Am still waiting to hear from them. Will chase tomorrow if I have not heard. Feel so useless until i know what i can and cant do! Funny that we have not had a sighting now for 2 weeks which coincides with when the posters were taken down......really need to be able to get them back up or something, anything, just need to do something to get my gorgeous dog back!!!!!! My heart is breaking knowing she is still running out there all alone. I miss Amber so much! The whole family does.

Hi, Been doing the rounds as have been to the office a few times this week, Abshot, Priory Park and Newtown, will keep it up everytime I go to the area, reminded and told work collegues who live nearby that still to keep looking, we will find the little minx! As for the Posters, go straight for the top man, Sean Woodward, he is a dog lover and I hope he would understand you situation, if you don't get through to him via the council let me know I have a home number for him, explain that you will remove everyone once she is found etc. Jim

Thanks BridgetI’m trying my hardest to stay strong and positive and am not ready to give up just yet!! Just feels like everything is against me at the mo! (sorry if that sounds like I’m feeling sorry for myself)
I have just phoned the council and they are telling me that in order to put up ANY poster/notice/flyer etc you need to have a license!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No-one has told me anything at all about needing a license. They have not phoned me to let me know that posters were coming down or to tell me that I needed a license which is incredibly annoying as I could have done something about it after the first lot were removed! In that case what can I do? Or what can other owners with missing dogs do if we are not allowed to put up posters?!?!?!?!?!? Am awaiting a call back from the person who took them down so will report more as soon as i know.

Hi Vicky I know it's easy for me to say as I'm not the one doing all the searching (I would help if I were nearer) but keep going for Amber's sake. Remember there is one little JRT out there just waiting to be reunited with you. Stay strong and you will be rewarded with your little girl back home yesterday. Bridgetx   PS I found a lost JRT yesterday running along a main road. I stopped my van and luckily was able to catch her. She was tagged and I phoned her owner who was out searching. It turned out the little dog has run away while her owner was doing some gardening for someone about 8 miles from home and I think Bruno was heading home!

Keelah, many thanks for your message and I would appreciate any help that i can get. I have just this minute emailed over copy of the e-mail that I sent to our local tv station begging for help. I have been told b y Jan101 that the man from the Council taking down the posters was ordered to by the Director of the council who said that they had been up for over 2 months. The original ones were taken down last week and sellotape remained so they had not done a good job. (When Amber is found I would have gone round putting on found stickers then leaving for a couple of days before taking all of them down and carefully removing all trace of sellotape!!) I have since spent the entire weekend putting up more posters with my trusted companion Robbie and these posters were put up with cable ties and some were laminated. These either replaced the old posters or were put up in new areas so they have NOT been up for over 2 months. They also had more detailed information on them such as reward offered, and details of where she had been sighted in the area. I plan to phone the council this afternoon as well as chasing up newswpapers but worry that I will lose my cool as today is a bad enough day as it is without dealing with all of this. I am truly at breaking point and so worried about Amber. Boys keep talking about her and we just want her back so much it hurts!!!!!!!

Hi DL, I simply just have not had the time to log on here these last few days as life has been hectic and batteries have been recharged so am out again in Warsash with my 'poster war' battle. Robbie had kindly printed some posters and either laminated or put in plastic files and had managed to buy some cable ties so Saturday night we walked all around the shore and the shops putting up posters where they had been taken down. (Robbie has been absolutely fantastic and I cannot express my gratitude enough!!!) So far, so good as they are still up!!! It really broke me when i discovered all of my posters had been taken down, it felt like all my hard work was for nothing. I have rested slightly this last week and done my crying so am out again with renewed energy. I have been putting up many more this evening. Jan101-thank you so much for putting up posters for me, i know we have spoke/texted but wanted to say again how grateful I am. I bought the local papers all last week and did not see article regarding Amber so will have to chase this but simply have not had the time. I haven't had time to breathe as have had school visits, children's cpourses, plus my usual filled daytime routine with the children and now my middle child no longer naps during the day so I have even less time than before. I received the e-mail about scenting, thank you. I did scent religiously and kept the feeding stations going for a few weeks but have given up on this now as I am sure I was just feeding the foxes and other animals. I could not afford to keep these going as it was costing us more than it would have done just feeding Amber at home and we simply do not have the funds. I still scent when I can but really do not know where i should be scenting now as have not had a sighting in about 12 days. Obviously, I will begin again with these methods once a sighting has been confirmed. My aim now is to poster again in the areas where posters have been taken down and possibly to renew old ones and then I really must realisticly reflect on the situation as it has now been just over 7 weeks. I simply cannot go on at this pace as my health is seriously being affected and I have 3 young boys, and a hubby who are all dependent on me. Just really hope to get her back soon as dont want to give up but........ Thanks again for all of your support.....it is keeping me going!!! x

Hi there, Many thanks again for all of your suggestions and words of support, it really means a lot. I have had many good people out there contacting me to ask if Amber had been found as so many posters have been taken down. It is good to know poeple are concerned and are continuing to spread the word that she has not been found. Robbie continues to be an incredible help coming out with me whenever he can and printing up posters. Jan101 is another angel who is printing some posters and will be going out tomorrow to put them around the area. Whilst others continue to change their walking areas and go as often as they can to look for Amber. I am just overwhelmed by the amount of genuine, kind, amazing people there are out there who will do all that they can to help. I unfortunately do not have much to report as poor health and no childcare has not allowed me to get out and about. My husband has had meetings in the evening this week so I cant get out. This is incredibly frustrating to say the least. The newspapers have yet to run the story again so will chase that and also have not had a reply from my contact at our local tv station. He asked me to send an email and I have not heard anything, will chase again tomorrow. I hope to re-energise and continue putting back my posters!

What about buying or renting a megaphone(hand held loud speaker) and standing in a busy place and let everyone know that your dog is missing.  You could also hand out doglost missing posters at the same time.  By doing this it might bring more media attention to your situation

Hi Vicky Sorry to hear that you are feeling so low at the moment - I can't say I'm surprised with all the worry you've got and walking you are doing. As Dan said, look after yourself as you won't be doing Amber any favours if you get really ill and can't get out to search at all. You need to eat, drink and sleep well to keep your strength up. I wish I was nearer to come and help you look for her but we are 30 miles north of London. I am sending you lots of good luck wishes and hugs from Hertfordshire. It won't be too long until you are welcoming Amber back like Dan did with Koko. Take care Bridget (my 9 dogs have recrossed their 36 paws for Amber now after Koko was found.)

Hi Vicky Firstly thank you for your support and kindness whilst you were going through hell. More importantly, please do not allow yourself to drop so low, I did and it did me no favours, only making a difficult task harder and my emotions collapse. I had thousands of posters printed, as Koko was roaming a vast area, they regualrly were ripped down and vandalised. I used to cover them with 2 plastic sleeves, even in some cases had them laminated for the 'trouble' spots and they were staple gunned in place, sometimes with so many staples it was impossible to tear them down. Print smaller posters, 4 per A4 size, lots of them and letter box drop them, this is very effective, and keep doing it! If you have to pay some local teens to drop them for you. I managed to get the Press and TV companies involved for two reasons, firstly Koko is a very rare animal and secondly I was 200 miles away from home when so went missing. Without these facts I would not have had the media and Police assistance Koko received. Vicky, stay strong, keep driving forward. Never give in! Thinking of you and send you hope and love. hi, there are still loads of people out there looking, I did a drive around for lunch yesterday, saw lots of your posters still up, if it was the council taking them down they tend to phone you and threaten a ?75-00 fine for each one first! seems this is news for South Today for a lost cat in Worthing. Wave 105 at Segensworth are very local and might run a bit on the morning slot, hit the local internet forums, Warsash has one: http://www.warsash-residents.co.uk/forum/  So do Whiteley http://www.whiteleyforum.net/WF2008/ we are at the companion dog show at Butser this weekend so will put a poster up near our Van. Keep strong, Amber needs you healthy, in this weather make sure you are drinking loads of water out walking. Jim

Hi, read the last comment and couldn`t have put it better; there are more people on your side than not, so try not to waste your energy on sad individuals who are not, as they are not worth it! You must look after yourself as you want to be fit and well when Amber returns home don`t you?? I/we have been out for hour+ walks every day looking since we spoke, and will continue to do so until she is found (as I`m sure she will be soon!), and I`m sure lots of other people are doing the same as there are lots and lots of dog lovers who are supporting you too. So please keep strong for Amber as much as yourself and your family and take care x

Really sorry you're having such a hard time. Hang in there - you'll bounce back. We're all willing you on.
Carry on doing what you're doing, one day at a time. Spreading the word any way you can is the only way, as you need all those extra eyes. The majority of people are on your side.
So many people will have already read your posters before the miserable whatevers took them down, so they weren't for nothing. Keep going as best you can.
What about contacting local radio stations?
Have you tried postering / contacting dog agility or training clubs in the area? Most members will have a large network of fellow dog owners / walkers in the area. Some may not have seen the posters, or realise she's still missing.
I expect you've done all this already. Maybe Dan & Koko will have new thoughts.
I really just wanted to say stick with it, she's worth it! Crossing everything for you x

Firstly thanks again for your kind messages, it means a lot. I am incredibly disheartened and depressed tonight. My health is worsening as migraines are getting worse and had to go to the doctors yesterday, plus I have hurt my back possibily caused by all the walking i do carrying large bags. To make matters worse, this evening I noticed that all of my posters in the Warsash area have been pulled down!!!!! I dont know whether this is the council or local residents who have taken them down but whoever has certainly hasn't taken care as the scellotape is still around the lamposts. (I must add that when Amber returns i would have gone round to all the posters and put on 'found' stickers and then taken them down after a couple of days) I feel so depressed as some of the posters had only just been put up in the last few days and I have spent many, many, many hours walking aroung on my own til all hours of the morning putting these up. I am walking along alleyways, and quiet roads putting my safety at risk only for someone to come along and take them down!!!!!!!!!!!! I am crying as we speak as everything seems to be working against me n ow and it is SO-OOOOOOOOOO Frustrating!!!!! (I am screaming inside as all my hard work seems for nothing!!) One lady has managed to contact me today to ask if Amber had been found as she has noticed the posters being taken down which is really nice and I have asked for her to spread the word as best she can. I have also taken another kicking today as I phoned my local tv news station and tried to see if they could run a story and all i got was that this is not something that they would be interested in as it is not news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so desperate and cant believe the knock backs I have incurred in the same day! Dont know what to do now as I have little strength left........

Hi Vixster, have only recently caught up with your thread, what an amount of work you are doing to get your Amber back, I so hope you are successful soon.   Re your recent post when you thought you heard a dog collar chinking, if you think you hear her again why not try talking as though you are having a conversation with someone, she may not recognise you but she will recognise your voice and that may just bring her out.   It's been known to work before, they do go into feral state quite quickly when out for even just a few days, and  don't seem to recognise faces but they will pick up on a familiar voice.   Good luck, come on back home now Amber, enough is enough, your poor Mum needs a break.

I was back home so late last night/this morning to be able to update with my activities as I was out walking new areas with Robbie initially and then I was putting up yet more posters around warsash common. It was so late that I could barely keep my eyes open driving home. Whilst putting up posters (near Dibles Road entrance to the common) I heard a dog collar clinking and went over to the stream where the noise was coming from and listened. I could def hear something move in the woods. I called softly and whistled softly for what seemed like an eternity. I saw a fox come out but something still moved about in the bushes. Not sure if I was hearing things so waited until I could wait no more. I did go back and scent around that area in the hope that if it was her then she will stay around there and safely be seen so we can get those all important sightings. I overdid it last night though as my lack of sleep and hectic childcare schedules caught up with me today and I have had a migraine that steadily worsened throughout the day. I couldn't risk going out and driving as the pain was so extruciating and vision was drastically reduced. Will keep this post brief as need to sleep it off, but just needed to keep up to date with my posts. Thank you everyone for keeping me going. I am incredibly annoyed I have not made it out this evening but my body has given up on me today. Tomorrow is another day and I shall be back out with a vengence!!

Firstly a BIG thank you to everyone for your kind words and encouragement, especially from Dan and the infamous Koko-hope you are resting up and getting lots of cuddles. I have been hecticly postering new areas that I have not previously covered and updating new ones in order to keep Amber's profile high. The local newspapers, the News and the Daily Echo, will run another story in the next few days which is good and will hopefully keep people on the look out for her. Walked around Warsash Common this evening with Robbie, my guardian angel, but am unsure if she is out and about at this time of night (8.30pm onwards) but unfortunately, this is the earliest that i can get out after getting the kiddiwinks in bed. It is so frustrating that the times she has been sighted is early morning when I cannot get out and about! Spoke to Jan101 today, thank you ever so much for calling and for going out looking for Amber. She lives near to where Amber has been sighted so has kindly offered to be contacted if i receive a fresh sighting in this area and cannot get there myself. I am incredibly grateful for your help, support and kindness thank you. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow (well today seeing as the clock says 00.40) that she went missing and it feels an eternity!!!!! My plan is to continue to poster and scent etc and just hope for the best. I long ofr the day that she is back and i can just totally switch off in front of the television for an evening rather than walking round in the dark with bottles of scent, sardines and other foul smelling things putting up posters!! My posters are certainly working as took my boys to the park after pre-school this afternoon and they asked a lady if they could throw the ball for her dog (they really miss doing this for Amber) and the lady said that she already knew about Amber and she lives miles away near me!! Everyone that i speak to already know about Amber and say that they have never seen such a publicised dog before. Just need Amberchops to come out and show herself more often! I'm shattered this evening and my eyes are barely staying open so must rest now. goodnight x

Vixster, you and others are doing everything possible in the search for Amber.  I know you have a lot to deal with.  I have a soft spot for JRs and have been following her page after seeing her photo as her head is the double of my little JRT. (the rest of her isn't)!  The sightings of her are great news and I know it will seem like an eternity that she has been missing, but there are countless happy endings on DL when a dog has been reunited after several weeks, for instance: Rowan, sheltie 16250 who was on the run for 7 weeks until he finally decided he had had enough. I only wish I was nearer to help with the search for Amber but am searching locally to me for a little JR, Rocky 18588.  Come on little ones, it's time to go home.x.

Good to talk with you earlier Vixster. Try & keep strong. You have worked so hard postering , laying down food , scenting the area , keeping watch as well as looking after your boys. If you can keep the momentum going, especially the scenting refresh & food topping up, this ,I'm sure ,will bring results.It can take what seems an eternity with some dogs but keeping the dog in the area is all important .

I follow all the stories on dog lost since helping look for one that was missing in our area for 8wks.  You are doing a fantastic job, and i take my hat off to you, for all the time you have given looking for Amber and with having young children as well. It was hard enough for me and my kids are grown up,nor was it my dog so not the emotions you are  having to cope with. The last week, I have been walking every night (except last night due to exhaustion) in Hook Park as strongly believe that if she is flitting from WArsash to Titchfield Common then looking at the map, this would be the woodland that she would need to cut through. As for other areas, I really dont know where to begin as she could be walking through any of the fields, nurseries, copses between warsash and titchfield. I really need another sighting in order to give me some direction now. I will certainly post on here as soon as I hear about a sighting or feel that another area should be covered so please keep looking on here. Dear DL Diary, (after all these weeks and getting into a routine of logging on here every night, I feel like my DL web page is my diary!) Sorry I haven't updated in a couple of days but have been so busy, I just have not had the time. There has not been much to report these last few days. Both feeding stations-food always taken and on Monday at one the complete bowl was taken. Nothing to give me any signs that Amber has fed and the missing bowl leads me to believe that it's foxes I'm feeding. It has been 5 weeks and 4 days, the longest weeks of my life!!!! Robbie and I walked for hours Monday night but no signs. I feel so totally deflated by it all, frustrated beyond belief, depressed, exhausted and incredibly stressed. After the weekend and all my boys taking it in turns to be sick, and now teething, plus an incredibly busy day yesterday, I did not make it out last night which totally destroyed me but my whole being needed to rest before i fell down. I still made up more posters to continue with a vengence but unfortunately we have downpours and stormy weather this evening to add to my frustrations and worry. I did speak to a lady at my childrens centre who, after seeing my poster at the centre, said that she saw what she now believes to be Amber two weeks back but in Fareham. The road that the dog was seen in is only a mile away from me and if it was her, she only had to travel south a short distance and she would have been in familiar woodland. The lady said that this dog looked ever so frightened and a few poeple plus her sister tried to grab it but it snapped at them where it was so frightened. i am not sure if this was Amber as she has NEVER been a snappy dog, but she has never been away from us so who knows what has happened in the time she has been away. If it was her, it was over two weeks ago and since then we have had 2 sightings in Titchfield Common and Warsash so if she made  it there, she has gone back the other way. I dont know what to do/where to continue postering/where she might possibly be and I feel like a headless chicken. I wish I just knew where abouts she was hiding out as I am at breaking point and cant take this!!!! Wish someone could tell me where to go, and wish someone soon will see her and phone instantly and at a time when i can drop everything and run over to ensure it's her. I cant handle her being out in the wild and if the scared dog was her, I cant bear it that she is so frightened. Really need her back safe and sound.......words are failing me as cannot express how upsetting this is.

hi, i read your blog most days and i empathise with you so much! i have changed my dog walking area in the hope of finding Amber. I live in titch comm and work in warsash- is there anywhere particular I should be looking? Am willing to help as much as as possible even if its company when looking :-) fingers crossed it wont be long now til shes back home again!

I hear you vixster, and still reading your words, and feeling your pain. Not a lot I can say really, except that I admire the way you are pulling yourself through this, and like Dan, with koko, you will finally be re-warded. She may well be taking the food in the mornings when you cannot get there unfortunately, but if you read Rolo, reunited dachshunds page, you will see he was caught in a garden, which is what I hoped may happen with Amber. Stay strong. It seems like an eternity I know, but it is only four and 3 quarter weeks ! x

I feel so totally drained still and really at a loss as to what to do. Really, really, really need another sighting.... I feel so depressed and worried and miss my gorgeous girl so much, she's such a lovely dog and this is breaking my heart!!!! Not much to report this eve....replenished food at both feeding stations etc and unfortunately was out too late to walk round Hook Park as it was my Dad's birthday bar-b-q today, which i had to attend of course. I am so totally exhausted and my tiredness and aches have taken on another level. My boys are all taking it in turns to be sick so it's incredibly stressful dealing with sick children who aren't sleeping and then I'm out every night til late walking around. Dont know how much more of this I can take......!!!!!!!!!! It was raining this evening and really overcast so I phoned Robbie to say that it prob wouldn't be advisable going to Hook Park and walking around. I doubt Amber would be out in these conditions and the light would be very limiting. It seemed that it would have been a waste of time. I still went out to both feeding stations to lay food etc and had a very slow drive around the surrounding areas. I stopped and deliver flyers whereever I could and put up posters further down in Hook Park. (Hook Lane, Hook Park Road, Solent Drive, Workmans Drive etc) Everywhere i go i see jack Russells and it breaks my heart. Every white carrier bag I see, I think it's her, every rabbit hopping about, I think it's her, every reflection in the water, I think it's her...........I'm so totally exhausted and getting more and more fretful by the day. Really need a sighting...........please,please,please show yourself Amber, I need to know you are OK and where you are hiding out. I cant bear this much more.....

I have met some amazing people this evening and it has left me speechless! All i can say is Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I met Robbie at Warsash who was there with Gill and another couple of friends, who I cannot thank enough for helping me search for Amber. It is so nice to know that there are so many good people in the world, and this cancels out the uncaring actions of people taking down my posters a millions times over!!! We all walked around Warsash/Hook Park area in the vain hope of seeing my gorgeous dog and again to no avail. I did my daily routine of replenishing both the food stations and laying scent but still cannot determine who/what has been eating the food. Really need another sighting now as need to know she is OK and still in the area, and also to keep me going!!!! My aches ache this evening and really need some sleep,3 hours is just not enough!! I also hope that my eldest is better tomorrow so we can get out and about... Come on Amber.......where are you????????????????? x

It was after 2am this morning that i finally got home as was out with Robbie walking and driving around the woodland in Warsash then I had to do some much needed shopping as the cupboards were bare.....I was the only mad shopper in the store near enough! Yesterday was another emotional roller coaster day as it began with a possible sighting but after managing to race over to the area, there was a scruffy Jack Russell but unfortunately not Amber. Thank you Jan (DW) for getting there so soon with me. My eldest wasn't at pre-school yesterday so we went for a picnic in Hook Park which is a vastly dense woodland area surrounded by lots of fields and big open spaces. We tried to call out to her and make plenty of noise, plus hopefully leaving our scents but to no avail. We had luckily just finished our lunch in time when the heavens opened. My poor kiddies walked for miles and were so tired last night. I handed out flyers to everyone that I came across. In the evening I met Robbie at the same place and we walked around the woodland areas that I cannot get to with kids in tow, as the route is def not pushchair friendly. With my rose tinted goggles, i was hoping to go there in the evening and see Amber investigating the fact that we were there during the day but nothing. I took hundreds of flyers to the lovely lady that I met a couple of days ago from the post office who will get the postmen to deliver them to local houses. I am so grateful to you Ann for your help with this, it is unbelieveably kind of you and I cant express how grateful I am, it will save my little legs and allow me to concentrate on postering and looking for 'Madam'. Food gone from both stations but unsure again by which animal. My tiredness has now taken itself to another level as didn't get to bed until 3am and then the kids woke up at 6. My eldest has come down with a sicness bug today just to add to my stress! I cant believe it's 5 weeks tomorrow!!! :-(

Unfortunately not much to report this evening. Food at both feeding station was completely eaten but cannot determine by what. Have replenished food and water in both and at the Abshot Rd station I have saturated area with scent so if she is in area hopefully she will smell it and investigate. Thanks again Jim for your help, I would be lost without you, Gill and Robbie. Just hope that all of our efforts pays off soon and then we can all rest, after a big celebration that is!! Am very emotional today and REALLY, REALLY, REALLY miss her, just hope that she is safe and we are on the right track. Will need to print more posters tomorrow and have another late one getting more updated.

Had a couple of drive arounds this morning and lunchtime ish, Newtown road area and Titichfield common/Abshot Road, but no sign of the little madam sorry, can't find the feeding station on Lttle Abshot Road so at least it is well hidden! have a job in Andover early tomorrow so will drop into the area on the way back to have a look around again if she doesn't make an appearance beforehand, keep positive, there is plenty of food sources for her and clean water from lakes/ponds and rivers, just wish someone would see her and phone it in. Thanks again everyone for your help, support and advice. And Jim, you are a star and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for going out today and looking for me. I am home early this evening as simply couldn't go on this evening as every bone in my body aches from walking around postering last night/early hours this morning. Only had a brief sleep and have been on the go all day with the kids. I am a walking zombie today and cannot concentrate, poor kids had burnt fish fingers for dinner as not focussing too well!!! When setting up the feeding stations it is at night and the areas seemed ideal in the twilight. The feeding station is down a council access road running alongside a public footpath and we did not believe that is was used but having been there during daylight, unfortunately this is not the case. The station in Warsash this evening had been used and no food remained. A few white hairs were there which i am hoping is Amber's. Have replenished the food and then wen t to the Titchfield Common station. Half of the sardines had been eaten, and as I said yesterday, I am sure this is by cats. About a third of the tripe had been eaten, which is slightly more than yesterday but I cannot be certain it was by Amber. There was one white hair which is quite Amber-like but wishful thinking maybe? At least the foxes haven't had it!!! I scented the area and long for the day to have her back so I dont have to go out with smelly scent, sardines and baby nappies....i must stink to high heaven!!! I delivered some more flyers this evening to houses that back on to the woodlands where I believe Amber will have to cross at some point to get from her two areas. I met a lovely lady from the post office who said that if i drop round some flyers, she will get the local postmen to deliver them for me.This would be such a great, enormous help and mean i will have more time to poster and stake out. Really need to get some sleep and recharge the batteries so thank you to all and fingers crossed...

Well done, Amber Army !!  I'm so sorry its taking so long, but its impossible to hurry these things. Best when introducing another feeding station to keep the previous one going until you know for definite she is visiting both. Then once she is taking food regularly from feeding station, a trap can be set up. Re- the feed bowls being stacked up - if the area is exposed it could even be children. This is why I said at the very very beginning to think long and hard about the best position, before placing a feed station. Needless to say, many loose dogs have been staying out of the rain these last couple of days, so grab sleep when you can. You will all be so dead chuffed and proud of yourselves when she is safely home. Good work everyone. !!

Hi Went for another little tour around today from 12:00 to 13:30, toured the area around Cypress Ave and Little Abshot, sat at Newtown Rd for a while and walked around the field over the bridge, but no sign of the little minx sorry to say but did chat to a couple of dog walkers to remind them, all your posters are still up around the area, got a local job tomorrow so will lunchtime it again in the area. Firstly, thank you everyone for your kind words and support, it means a lot and is keeping me going as i battle with exhaustion. Robbie, Jim & Gill.....words really cannot express how grateful I am that you have been helping me in my search for Amber. I may have given up by now but your help and kindness has kept me going, you have restored my faith!!!! I feel helpless most of the day as my young family limits the time that i can be out and about looking for Amber so i really dont know what i would do without you guys being around when i cant. It's now 1.45am and I have only just got in!!!!! It's a miserable night and I am cold and wet, so i just hope that Amber has somewhere safe, warm and dry that she can be cosying up in. I had to come home as I ran out of sellotape and my tired eyes were playing tricks on me. It was also becoming quite scary being out on my own. New feeding place...Jan (DW) reported that food was untouched during day and when i went only some had been taken. (saw a cat coming from that area this eve so maybe a cat has been feasting??) Replenished food and completely saturated the area with scent.(urine, hoover dust and even the contents from my children's nappies so she should have all the family around....I'll be so glad when i'm not having to carry around such smelly items!!!!) Other feeding place.....food and water bowls both empty and one inside other, which means a person has stacked them together. Few white hairs which could be her's. tried to 'build-up' the grass around it so that it is not so exposed but not liking this station now. I still put down food but didn't scent as if it is her, she knows where it is and really want her going to new station where it should be more sheltered and more ideal with getting sightings. i then spent hours putting up more posters in area with 'still missing June '09' written on them along with areas that she has been sighted so hope people keep them up as they are relevant to that specific area. Now must try to get some sleep as kids will have me up at 6!!!! It's been a full month now and my heart is aching, along with my feet and my eyes!!! Really need her back!!

Hi, Gill and myself have been out from 1PM to 6PM having a look around, covered the area she was seen in in and out of all the closes etc, spoke to the owner of Abshot Country Club, he is now fully aware of Amber and has a poster up, we also dropped into Little Abshot Farm and let them know as the Abshot Country Club Chap said they walk their dogs in the area and towards Chilling foreshaw. We covered the Hookgate Coppice thats leads from Hook Lane to the Chilling Foreshaw, spoke to a couple of local dog walkers who have not seen anything but will keep an eye out now. Whilst in Little Abshot Road spoke to the Parcelforce Man having a break, he had seen the posters and will will keep more of an eye out as he covers Warsash Titchfield and Stubbington. We also drove the full length of Brownwich Lane (It said Private Road, but who's looking!) we spoke to a workman down their who will pass on details to the house holders. Checked out Titchfield Haven Shore front and then Finally went back to Newtown Road, walked the path from just over the bridge on Hook Park Rd looping around to Church Rd, spoke to a few people on away round, then a final pass around Cypress Rd and the Closes off of it. Think Robbie is out again tonight, but if you get any immediate sightings no matter what time you have Gill's number call and we try to come out to find little Madam. I am over Warsash way tomorrow for work so will take a tour around at lunchtime, good luck and we will find Amber, unless she makes it home by herself first, she could be heading in that direction! Lyn, Thanks again for your advice. The feeding station in Warsash does have windows overlooking it but these are halls of residence as the marine college is next door. After having another sighting today in different area and this one now being so open, am unsure what to do and whether to continue to leave food here. I dont know exactly what to do for the best, just really want a fairy godmother to come along and tell me where to be and at what time to get Amber back!

Have had a real emotional yo-yo day today!!!!!!!!! Firstly-good news-have had another sighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This time it's back over Titchfield Common way near to where she was sighted 3 weeks ago. It really looks like she is travelling in a line from Warsash over to Titchfield Common but really need more sightings to determine her routine. The area is so dense with woodland that it's impossible to walk on foot. Unfortunately the call about this sighting was 6 hours after she was seen so couldn't patrol the area but have set up another feeding station nearby in some woodland and scented area. Jan (DW) kindly met me there this evening to help with this. Once we have more confirmed sightings in that area and know her routine, Jan can set a trap. Robbie was out looking in Warsash again this evening and I am so grateful to him for waiting around until I arrived so that I had some company whilst replacing food. This feeding station is not really ideal anymore as after the downpour over night, the grass around has been beaten down so much that the feeding station is visible. Also being there so early this morning, I noticed many poeple walking past so it's probably not in as great a position as originally thought. Will continue to leave food here until I can establish that the new feeding station is working or more appropiate. Now the not so good news which has left me feeling so disheartened. I had a message left today on my phone from a gentleman who didn't like me putting up posters on his road and claimed that I had made other surrounding roads 'look messy' by putting up posters. This evening travelling down said road I noticed that at least 9 of my posters had been ripped down. Robbie even noticed one that had been taken down and ripped into pieces and just thrown on the floor. If poeple are concerned about my posters making a mess then they shoudln't pull them down and just throw them on the floor. Everywhere i go and see my posters littering the ground, I pick them up as i do not want to mess up the environment. What else can I do?????????? Most people on my travels have been so friendly and helpful and absolutely brilliant in helping me and spreading the word, and then there are the small few who do this and do not seem to care..... I am so drained and stressed with all of this.............just want her back!!!

Must also thank your lovely dog warden who is also being very helpful. This all sounds very very exciting, and very promising for some new sightings today. Dont forget to lie low, and stay still if you should see her. No eye contact, and turn to walk away. If she appears to recognise you or start to follow, lie down quicky and whimper as if you are hurt. Hopefully she will recognise you and run towards you. Have a slip lead ready. This could take a time still, so do be patient, but I feel you are so near now. If food can possibly be left twice a day - regular times, maybe a trap can be set. Went to the new feeding station this evening and only half of the food had been eaten. This is really positive though as firstly, it means that the foxes haven't eaten it as none would have been left, and secondly the amount that had been eaten fits in with how much Amber would normally have eaten at home. Robbie was thankfully there as well this evening and kept me company as i walked the area scenting, which i greatly appreciate as this new area is much more secluded and out of the way than the last so i would not feel comfortable or safe walking there on my own, especially after dark. I also managed to do some more postering and plan to have a very early start tomorrow to continue with this and delivering flyers. Robbie's friends, Jim and Gill have kindly offered to go to area from 5am in the morning (Sunday) in order to see if Amber shows herself this early. Thank you so much for offering and helping with the stake out as mornings seem to be when she is in that area from the times of the sightings. I simply cannot do mornings because of my 2 toddlers and baby so I am indebted to you both... Really hope Amber shows herself tomorrow as need to know she is alright and that the safe area is in the right place. Please let this weekend be the time she decides she's had enough of an adventure out in the woods!

It was 4 weeks ago today that she ran off and it feels like a lifetime!!!! We all miss her so-oooooooooo much and want her back safe and sound with her family. Our whole days were always planned around taking her out for walks with us and going to places that both Amber and the kids would enjoy. It's difficult at the moment thinking of what to do with the kids or we go out and keep thinking what we would be doing if Amber was with us.......hope you are warm, safe and feeding well Amber and come home soon!!!!!

So excited again that we have another sighting and just in the nick of time to give me that all important dangling carrot to chase!! Was out last night til gone midnight with Robbie and Jan the dog warden came out to help with repositioning the safe place. I am eternally grateful to both of you for all of your help and support. Jan(DW) had already been to the area and looked around as to where would be a good safe place and also had kocked on some of the local doors to make them aware of Amber who will possibly be cutting through their gardens. The cottages where Amber was sighted do not own dogs which makes this sighting even more viable as this is a perfect cut through from the dense woodland to the shore. Opposite the cottages there is a secluded footpath that leads straight along the shore and is not a popular walking path which would explain why she has only been sighted once a week. We strongly believe she is hiding out in the woodland as this leads directly to and from each of the sightings now and she can move without being seen. DW said that you could easily camp out there and not be seen as it is so dense and most parts not walkable on foot. Safe place has been made away from the road but close enough to encourage her to come out more where the houses are in the hope that we receive more sightings. Robbie and I put up posters on every lampost along Newtown Road. I started to deliver some flyers but it was too late to be posting through doors as didn't want to annoy anyone or startle people if there letter box knocked. Will flyer more tomorrow (Sun) as only day i can get out without kids. Will go out again this evening to rescent and check on food plus put up more posters and just hope and pray that she shows herself again so we can work out exactly where she is and what time. Article was also in 'The Informer' today which is a free local magazine that is delivered to over 37,500 houses and in the areas specific to where I live and where she is hiding. Let's hope that this brings more awareness! I have had many phone calls from people looking out for Amber and I am so grateful that there is so many good people out there, it restores your faith in mankind! Thank you so much and keep those fingers crossed!! x

Just when i feel like giving up....I am thrown another bone so to speak!!! Amber was sighted again this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This time she has been seen further down from Warsash along Newtown Road which does fit in with the triangular pattern that dogs take from each of the other sightings. T The dog warden went to area straight away and spoke with residents of the cottages that she was seen by and they do not own any dogs so quite visably this is Amber. The lady who phoned me described Amber to a tee so my hopes are up again!!!! It does seem that Amber is using the vast woodland/marshland to cut between the Abshot Road sighting and the warsash sighting and this is perfect doggy hide out country. This would also explain why we are only getting a sighting a week! I intend to make another 'safe place' this evening and also put up more posters/deliver flyers around that area. Keeping everything crossed again....

Spoke to the lady at the delicatessan who was misinformed about Amber being found and put her straight that Amber is still missing.She will continue to look out for her for me which i really appreciate. She also told me that she saw a Jack Russell the other day near where this alleged Warsash sighting was. She said that the jack she saw was very similar to Amber but was much longer haired. It ran under the gate and back to a local house so def was not Amber. A couple of people have said this now so I'm starting to believe that this sighting has been another red herring. I feel so deflated.... I'm worried that I am now wasting my time, and Robbie's time by continuing to scent this area as no longer have a true confirmed sighting here and who knows where she is or whether she will come back to this area?!?!? I have been scenting etc now for 9 days and no sign. Robbie was even there until 4am last night and still no sign. Unsure what to do now..... Today is a very bad day where everything just seems to be going wrong. I thought that i had a plan that i could work to, although it was taking every ounce of me to do so, and now i'm back to square one and do not know where to go from here. Think I may need to leave the scenting and continue to focus my attention on getting more posters up as really need another sighting. Am so drained by this and just want her back...this not knowing is killing me. Miss you so much Amber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Lyn, it means a lot to hear words of encouragement! Was out again this evening rescenting etc and putting down tripe and mackerel fillets. There were a couple of small white hairs in the bowl so maybe she has returned again. I really hope so and that i'm not just kidding myself in desperation that they are her's. A 24 hour watch would certainly be a good idea and will try to arrange this, although not quite sure who i could ask as most of my friends have young children and unfortunately i do not have family around who could support me. I do believe that something like this NEEDS to take place to determine if it is her and what time she visits. My guardian angel, Robbiee55ww, has taken over stake out watch this evening so i can get an earlier evening. Again words cannot express how grateful I am. On my way home i put up a few more posters and updated some with reward offered. Also received a phone call today from a lady who had been told by another gentleman that Amber had been found. Allegedly he was informed by a local shop that she was found but that she had lost weight. I told her that she had not been found as yet but had been sighted and she will set the story straight with this gentleman. I also intend to speak to the shop in question and ensure my posters remain up. This is twice now that 'chinese whispers' have created incorrect news. Please, please, please keep looking out for my beloved Amber. House is so empty without her. Miss her so much....

If you feel Amber is visiting regularly, would it be possible for your family / friends to arrange a 24hr watch just on one occasion so you know she'd be seen if she came to the station?

Was out again last night rescenting, laying food, water and extra hoover dust full of familiar smells. There were a few small wavy white hairs in her bowl and I am almost positive that these belong to Amber as she has come along and licked clean the bowl. (I doubt that the foxes would have left anything so thats probably all she has left to do poor girl) Spoke at length to Yasa (Hazel) yesterday evening and appreciate her advice and words of support. Thank you! I have been out again this evening and had to come home now as I was doing my nodding dog impression as am so-ooooooooooooo tired. My eyes hurt and constantly stream as am surviving on less than 5 hours sleep as my boys have been waking up at 5.45am. Still no sightings unfortunately, but more white hair in her bowl. Have left butchers tripe food this evening along with some mackerel fillets and have rubbed food into the ground. Also placed some of my clothing around area to ensure my scent is there. I get the feeling that Amber either visits extremely late in the night or early hours of the morning. It will be so difficult for me to stay at the stake out for longer than i already am, or to get there around 4am when the sun is rising, as i still have my family to look after and i'm so exhausted already and not functioning normally. I think that i may just have to bite the bullet and have some incredibly early mornings and accept that this week I am going to be even more tired than ever. I cant go on like this so really need to see her soon. The whole family miss her so much and it's cutting me up inside. I dont want to give in as really need/want her back but it's destroying me... I am receiving quite a few phone calls from people saying that they are looking out for her for me which is fantastic knowing people out there are keeping an eye out. Just wish that she would show herself and soon, been 8 days now since last sighting. I need to know that what i'm doing is working and it's all going to be worth it. Sorry but my tiredness is affecting my positivity! Come on Amber....let me see you are alright!

Vixter ,what you are doing is great .Sometimes it can be days before another sighting, as it can depend on people who have seen the posters being at the right place at the right time. Thank you so much Robbie for your help here. Another sighting will come in don't loose hope on this .Very often there can be "quiet" periods with what appears to be nothing  going on & then the dogs pop up again. Stay strong Vixter you are doing so well.Keep the kettle boiling here it will bring results I'm sure.

Again went to rescent area and lay food for Amber (well foxes really but in the hope that Amber will get some and start getting established with my routine), plus fresh water and hoover dust. Again there were white hairs in the bowl but not sure if these were left from yesterday. Made sure that i rinsed the bowl properly before laying down more food. Robbie55ww, bless him, has again taken over the stake out this evening so i can get an earlier night! He is an angel! Just really wish that we would get another sighting so that all these late nights are actually for something and to ensure that what I am doing with the feeding station is working. Feeling slightly anxious.

How very kind of Robbie. And how interesting about the white hairs in the food bowl. It does sound quite exciting. Perhaps try leaving some different types of food, that perhaps the foxes wont take. We have fed the foxes for years and from time to time they DO leave things they dont like, but cant for the life of me remember what it was. I have a feeling it may have been eggs, but not sure. Perhaps someone else may know. I'm really surprised the fox hasnt taken the food bowl actually. They do that around our area, so we have to leave the food on the ground in several different heaps. Try leaving some different things, and hope if its Amber she will get some. I wish I was nearer to help out. I really feel for you.

I do not have words to describe how totally exhausted I am both physically and emotionally. Have been trying to keep it together at home but am so tired that today i snoozed for a few minutes on the sofa after being out with my kids today and then just broke down. Went to Warsash again this eve to rescent and lay food, water etc. Robbie55ww has kindly offered to do the 'stake out' this eve to enable me to recharge my batteries, which i am ever grateful for. He met me at the safe place and took over watch. There were small white hairs in the food bowl this evening so am hopeful that these may be from Amber's beard as she has gone along and licked out the bowl with what was left after the foxes had eaten. Please, please, please let it be Amber......

Thanks all for your advice and words of encouragement! It is keeping me going through my zombie state. I had been to warsash foreshore with my boys today for a picnic and for the first time, i didn't mind them making noise in case Amber was within ear shot. I talked to many people and handed out more flyers just to keep spreading the word. People have been great in helping and took extra flyers to hand out or put up in their local pub. Most had already heard of Amber or seen my posters. This evening I have re-scented, laid more food and water at her feeding station plus put down more hoover dust. Could easily have fallen asleep in the car as so tired (boys were up at 5.45am so less than 5 hours sleep!) Saw same mummy fox with her cub and even saw a deer! but no Amber.....no white hairs in bowl either. will keep it up and will also go there or hollyhill for picnic this weekend...keeping everything crossed.

Maybe think about having a family picnic in the area and spending some time over the weekend. Just to actually BE there, will be creating all the right scents, plus it would be excellent if you could get hold of one of those prtable barbques from the supermarket and cook endless amounts of sausages. The smell travels for miles, and you may just get a little visitor xx

Good to speak with you yesterday evening Vixter & thank you for calling as well as updated on here. All that you are doing is spot on ,well done. As we said last night,there will be foxes etc going for the food but these little fellows often help to lead dogs to feeding stations. Even if Amber has tracked over to the other side of this woodland park she will very likely start to track back in this triangular pattern that we have talked about. Also, as mentioned last night, a gentle whistling that Amber is used to whilst putting the food down can help to trigger a response. Steph x

There were white hairs in her food bowl but am trying not to get my hopes up as do not know if it was her or another animal, or maybe just hair from the hoover dust that had been disturbed. Saw foxes again who ate the food and spoke to Steph to ask what to do along with messaging Yasa. Many thanks for your advice. i am trying my hardest to get to stake out each night at the same time and do exactly the same whilst there and stay til about 10.30 as it takes me 20 minutes to get home and then at least an hour to wind down. Will continue this routine and hope for the best...

Story was in the paper (Daily Echo) again yesterday and with correct mobile number this time thankfully! Was out again this evening to re-scent the area and put food plus water and more 'home' smells in her safe place. I rescented the whole area and I'm sure people must think i'm either an alcoholic with my bottle or an arsenist spraying everywhere! Spoke to numerous people and handed out flyers and each time feel that i have to embarassingly explain about my bottle.... Put up at least 30 more posters in the area concentrating on the foreshore and other dog walking areas. Saw many fox cubs out and about but no Amber. Feeling bit better than earlier but still so drained...

Was out last night til midnight when myt hubby texted to say come home! Made a safe place away from the road with food, rubbed on the ground, and a piece of her bedding. It is sheltered and hidden but still visible on one side from the road. Have scented everywhere from where she was sighted down Thronton Ave and Crofton Way leading her directly to the safe spot and then scented from the shore up to the safe place just in case she comes along the shore. I saw 2 foxes there so although it is off the road, it is on a fox run so not sure if this is perfect? (had migraine last night so couldn't think too clearly) I also went round all of these roads putting up posters and renewing some old ones around the shore with reward offered. I even visited a couple of pubs (not to consume alcohol mind you) but to get them to put up posters for me. everyone that i came across i gave leaflets to and all of them had already seen my posters or had flyers at home. Met Robbie out and about as he had offered another set of eyes, so thank you again Robbie! No sightings on either front though. I am sure that she has gone across country and possibly to the other area that she was sighted so unsure how long it may take until she's back this way. It's incredibly hard trying to pinpoint where she may be as between the 2 definite points i have is lots of woodland, farmland and nurseries. I'm so mentally/emotionally and physically drained plus suffering with migraines nearly every day so dont know how much more i can deal with......just want her home safe. Yasa-have read some of 'Rambo' story whilst waiting for dinner to cook in oven and although it is comforting to know he is safely reunited, it is also draining to think about what his owner had to do to get him back. Realistically i cant commit as much as his owner as my daily routine is already incredibly busy with a 4 year old, 2 year old and a 10 month baby. Housework is going right out of the window at the mo. I know this prob sounds defeatist already....just having a bad day and feeling incredibly despondent i suppose!

Hi Vixster - Since speaking to you, I have looked up Thornton ave, and I see it has a bend in the middle, forming two sides of a triangle with Crofton Way. In other words Thornton Ave is two sides of the triangle and Crofton Way is the third side. Now where the bend in the middle of Thornton Ave is, is very close to the shore line, and between the shore and the bend in Thornton Ave, there is some scrubby land. Not sure if this is part of someones garden, or just the edge of the parkland, but that sort of area would be ideal for making a safe place, as I think its away from the main roads, near enough to the woods for cover, and near to the houses for scavaging. She could be using Thornton Ave as a cut through literally to the back of those shops where she may be finding scraps from time to time. You could leave scent all around that bendy bit in Thornton, leading to where you make the safe place behind there in the shrubbery. Perhaps that is easy for you to get to, or difficult, I'm not sure, but looks a pretty good posibility to me. Leave some bedding, clothing of yours, food, and water, and make sure its tucked away somewhere dry. What do you think?

Amber was spotted last night approx 10.15pm along Brook Lane, Warsash, just 150 yards up from the main roundabout and near Thornton Avenue. Lady said that she was just standing therenear the road so i strongly believe that she is doing a circuit from Hollyhill entrance near the warsash foreshore and then heading across country,poss via all the nursery fields, and over to 'abshot', as this seems to be in a straight line. I rushed out last night as soon as lady phoned and was in area til nearly midnight but no signs. Will try desperately to make a 'safe' area this evening but this will prove difficult as I am not able to go out every night....will try tho!! Have also printed up posters with ? signs and will get them up this eve. I really hope we can get her back soon as really am not enjoying this roller coaster....

Very Excited there has been another sighting. Good advice from Stef there, and if we can find out the exact location on Brook Lane, it should be quite easy to set up a feeding station, which hopefully, others would be able to help man, when owner is on child care. There may be a helpful resident who would allow use of the garden, and would leave food. Stay safe now Amber as you are very close to being back home with your Mum and lovely family. So very very close now !

There has been another sighting of Amber. Owner was called by someone who had a flyer, last night(Mon 25th) at 10.15pm on Brook Lane , Warsash. Owner flew over there but did not see Amber & is obviously disappointed. This is good news though, Brook Lane is near Hollyhill Woodland Park ,where Amber went missing from. Although this area is vast with lots of woodland ,farms & nurseries it does seem that Amber is staying in one area. I have advised owner to re scent this area as much as possible including the car park that they normally use. Fingers crossed there is another sighting. Anyone in this area able to keep a look out especially late evening would be great.

Thanks ever so Titchy, I really appreciate it! I have been out to Warsash Common with the boys this weekend and it is such a large area and so dense with woodland in places. I have been calling out for her and whistling but nothing. My boys started calling her name at every bush and it breaks my heart everytime. (My 2 year old's speech has just cleared even more and can now actually say 'Amber' properly!) Met a dozen people on my travels and gave each of them flyers and at least two thirds ahd already seen my poster so at least they seem to be working. We have decided that we would go round all the posters again and make sure that they are still there and also put up a reward in the hope that this will encourage her safe return.

I have now put up hundreds of posters all around the area...Warsash,Titchfield Common, Priory Park, Hook, Sarisbury Green, Park Gate, Stubbington and Hillhead and handed out hundreds of flyers. Many,many shops and other businesses have posters and every school and recereation ground in the area has been postered. an article was put in the Daily Echo on Wed but unfortunately they put my mobile number in wrongly so will do another article. Portsmouth News have put in an article today that is two thirds the size of the page so hopefully people will take note. Am so tired and my feet ache from walking.....boys are fed up of being dragged around and they are also really feeling Amber's disappearance. It's breaking my heart....

Titchy...many thanks for all of your help!!! I do remember speaking with you at Holy Rood. Robbie searched at Whiteley yesterday evening and saw a longer legged jack russell with black on it's back so now believe that this sighting at Whiteley Lane is a red herring..... I went out last night until 12.30am putting up more posters around Titchfield Common/ Warsash way. A lady that i spoke to said that a larger white stray dog had been found in the Priory Park area so i now strongly believe that the first original sighting back on Monday of Amber with another stray in Abshot Road is definite. My posters are starting to work as yesterday and today i have received 2 phone calls saying that they have seen Amber, but going back nearly 2 weeks. She was seen at Universal Marina, Sarisbury Green and then at Dibles road in Warsash. i strongly believe that this was her trying to originally find her way back to Hollyhill by running past the marina and then because she couldn't get anywhere along the shore, she has turned back and then found herself in Warsash. I think she is either hiding out in Warsash Common or in the woodland on the Hook side of Warsash road.

Great news there has been another sighting of Amber. You just have to keep going, and doing what you ae doing. I am so pleased for you, that Robbie is helping you, and my thanks go to him too. I would keep getting the posters out, every where you go, even if its a trip to the doctors, take posters and flyers with you, and do still keep getting them up in the area she has been lost, and the area she has been seen. If she has been seen twice, at least, she will be seen again, or someone who has seen a poster and recognises her, will manage to catch her, or trap her in their garden, maybe. You will get more sightings, but watch out for posters being taken down, as this may be a clue that someone has her in that area. Thankfully the weather is being kind now, so she should be ok if still loose. The calls are coming in now, so you know the posters are working.

Received call today from a lady who said she may have seen Amber this morning along a road called Whiteley Lane, Whiteley near Segensworth. I have informed the dog warden but unfortunatgely she was on a course today so couldn't get out. Robbie55ww was kindly out looking for Amber in the area where she was originally sighted on Monday and then after i phoned him, he visited Whiteley and this specific road to look for her. (I cannot thank you enough for your time and help Robbie...) The lane is a very busy 'cut through' road and the only places to stop are very small lay-by's which really are just gated entrances for the horsey fields that are down that road. There is also a travellers caravan site along that road so either it was one of their dogs out loose or it was Amber who found her way there or was taken there....either way it's all speculation and I really do not know what to do. If this is a red herring then i dont want to waste my time, and others, by postering area and looking out that way if she is nowhere in that area and could be found in area where she was sighted on MOnday. I'm so confused as to what to do or where to go.......

Thank you so much Robbie55ww, I really apprecaite it. Amber was allegedly sighted in Abshot Road which is near to Titchfield Common and opposite all the farm land near Hook. There are plenty of recreation grounds and copses in this area so really feel like a headless chicken as dont know where to begin. I managed to get out this morning and poster near 2 rec's, stables, allotments, pub and all around residential area where dog walkers may possibly walk through to get to a field. I have near enough covered where she was sighted and all surrounding roads. This afternoon i drove places with my kids in tow which was more stress that what it was worth but have delivered posters to other well known public houses, farm shop and garage plus the beach area near where i live just in case she is heading home. I physically could not go out this evening as am totally emotionally and physically drained...dont know how much i can do to be honest as it's really taking it's toll now.....

Hi there Vixter You have been to active in trying to find your little dog - i really do hope she is found safe & well soon, i have done very  little in the way of helping apart frm emailing posters to dog clubs  in the fareham/portsmouth/locksheath/southamton area's also the local search & rescue dogs that l believe do training exercises nr locks heath - not a lot  know wish i could do more to help but family illness prevents this at the moment. You are doing so well - awareness is the key to finding Amber. thinking of you

Thank you all for your help and advice... I managed to get out briefly this afternoon with kids in tow to visit a local coountry club, nursery school and holiday camp site to deliver posters plus put up posters in a couple of local copse's which would be prime dog walking areas. I have also been out again this evening and really concentrated on dog walking areas around the road where she was sighted and managed to poster most of the alley ways around and have now covered all the roads coming off of the main road. I have postered lamposts, bus shelters and a couple of local schools and recreation grounds. I am now at a loss as to which course of direction to take next as the other side of the main road where she was sighted is incredibly rural and consists of mainly farmers fields. i have tried to find phone numbers for the farms but no joy as yet. I may have to go and visit them as best as i can tomorrow to make them aware she may be in the area. I have managed to get 2 local newspapers are to run story and also entry into a pet detective column in another newspaper, plus an article into a free local magazine that is delivered to the surrounding areas. Am trying to get local tv news interested as well.....

I have been out this evening and only just got back (it's 11.30pm). Have spent hours putting up posters all around the area where she was seen this morning. (lamposts, bus stops, dog bins and a community centre) The problem with this area is that the houses are fairly new build and each road is a 'close' with grassy areas behind the houses and dark alleys that link all the 'closes' together. I spoke to a few people who took additional posters from me. I will try to get there in daylight tomorrow afternoon, with kids in tow as have no childcare, in order to visit local businesses and hand out my posters there. I was whistling for her all evening and could have sworn that I heard hear, but unsure if my mind and wishing thinking is playing tricks on me. It was a very windy eve so couldn't work out where barking was coming from.

Am excited/anxious/and lots of other emotions as had a phone call today from a gentleman whose wife is adamant that she saw Amber early this morning. She was seen with another stray, a large white dog in Abshot Road, near Titchfield Common!!! It appears that she maybe following the shoreline and hopefully heading back to us in Stubbington. I had not blitzed this area in terms of postering but had put up a few. I visited a local vet in the area and whilst i was there, put up posters by a school, newsagents, bus shelters and outside a park just in case. Posters are definitely starting to get message out there! I phoned the dog warden immediately and she has gone to that area this afternoon. Am about to phone all the farms nearby and inform them to look out for her, and will get out that way as soon as i can this evening....have to wait until kids are in bed now! Went to my local childrens centre this morning and gave everyone there a poster to stick somewhere for me or to pass on to somebody else in order to get the word out even more. Paper to run story and a pet detective on the case and has put column in paper.......

Absolutely vixster !  Top job being done here, and well done for following all advice given. Strange how sometimes following one lead - takes you up another track. Same with the posters, you will get more ideas all the time. Generally dog people are so helpfull, as you have found, and will usually take posters and flyers. You could try dog groomers too !

Went door knocking today and primarily back to the lady with the info about lady with 2 dogs who possibly picked up Amber. Unfortunately she was not in but spoke to her Mum who gave us her phone number and another avenue to explore. Did not find out any more information but lead not totally exhausted yet. Spoke to many other walkers in the area and handed out more posters. Some locals took extra posters to put up in their place of work or the local pub that they were going to for lunch. Have been checking dogs for sale websites just in case and have many members on my facebook page. I have directed members to doglost and to poster of Amber and pleaded with all to print poster and put up wherever they can. People are being great! Tomorrow i will cover more ground with local supermarkets and more pet stores. Someone somewhere must know something?!?!?!!?

Have phoned the local rspca centres again today as have been hoping that the woman who possibly picked Amber up couldn't take her to the Ark rspca unit until this weekend, but no joy! :-( Newspaper to run article next week and am awaiting call back from 2 other local papers. Have also e-mailed a local free magazine that is delivered to all surrounding areas plus left message with another animal welfare centre. Aim tomorrow is to go door knocking, and especially back to the woman who has told me that the lady has my dog, and to try to find this lady. Have e-mailed poster to everybody in my address book so people all around the country will have a copy of the doglost.co.uk poster and forward it on to everyone they know.

Amber bump ! - possible, or most probable, sighting !! Well done vixster for all that you have acheived today, which is a massive amount. Firstly we have a sighting ! At last, so sounds pretty positive she has been picked up and is safe, so we now have to find her if the lady does not hand her in. Well done for those newspaper articles. Do let us know tomorrow, (well its. nearly - I should say later today) if she is actually in the papers, and if they are on line, you may be able to post link to the article.

Unfortunately I now have no childcare and need to get some sort of normality back into my young children's lives. I did still manage to drag them around some of the woodland park in the rain this morning so that I could rescent the area. I spoke to a couple of dog walkers and gave them leaflets to give to people they know. One said she would put up the posters in other key dog walking areas in the vicinity. I have phoned and e-mailed dog wardens from all the main areas around me and have contacted every pdsa I could find. I contacted other radio stations, rescue centres that i previously have not been able to get hold of and also newspapers. One local newspaper, the daily echo, will run a story about me and my family tomorrow complete with photos of Amber playing with my children. Another newspaper are interested in my story and will be phoning me tomorrow. My husband came home this evening so I managed to get back to the area and put up more posters on lamposts, outside another school and by any public footpaths i could find. One lady that i spoke to said that a woman knocked on her door last weekend with a dog that fits Amber's description asking if she belonged to her. The lady said that she would take the dog to our local rspca but they have not received anything! This lady allegedly has 2 golden labrodors/or retrievers and lives on a road that I have already leafleted. I asked some people on this road if they knew such a woman but to no avail. Am just hoping that if this woman does have Amber then maybe she was just waiting until this weekend to take her to the rspca......

Thank you vixster for your lovely comments. We try to help everyone, and every dog, but when owners are so co-operative and pull out all the stops as you have, and are, then it becomes a two way afair, and you automatically get more help via the support from this forum. Its just a great pity that as yet no local helpers have come forward, but I think we are a bit thin on the ground around there. If you would like to put your facebook link on here, I'm sure Jayne wont mind. Hopeing for a glimmer of news tomorrow, or at least by the weekend.

I have also created a group called 'Finding Amber' on facebook where i have posted more details regarding Amber and have directed people to doglost as a contact. I have spent all afternoon e-mailing and phoning vets in the outer area and have spent this evening e-mailing every radio station and newspaper/free paper that I can. Will try and keep phoning tomorrow and there are also some other rescue centres that I have been unable to talk to as yet so I shall try them. Will also update dog warden and keep phoning RSPCA.

Hi vixster - thank you for your update. I think you have done absolutely incredibly well, all on your own. I am amazed at all you have managed to cover so far, and its no little wonder you are exhausted. We still have no clue as to Ambers whereabouts, but if she does surface from a rabbit hole, over the next day or two, and is sighted by walkers in the area, they cannot fail to see a poster I would have thought. You have done really well to cover so much ground. Great that you are workng through the vets, and if you could get something in the papers, that may just do the trick if someone has already picked her up. If the latter is the case, Amber was wearing a good fitting collar and tag, so no excuses really, why she has not been handed in, or you have not received a call. Its a complete mystery at the moment. I am racking my brains !!

I am exhausted trying to look after my 3 kids plus desperately looking for my dog. In the last 2 days I have re-visited the park where Amber ran off and walked around 'scenting' the area and calling her name. I have delivered leaflets through all the surrounding houses that I can but the woodland park is vast and unfortunately opens out on to the Hamble foreshore so she could get anywhere. I have put posters on lamposts, telephone boxes, post boxes, notice boards, in all local shops (esp newsagents, fish and chips shops, restaurants, and hairdressers) post offices, supermarket and library. I have posted outside local schools and nursery and covered 4 of the surrounding areas. I have phoned/e-mailed local vets and am now trying outer area vets as I cannot get out today as have no childcare, and all local kennels. I have phoned rspca and also visited them this morning. I have told my local playgroup and childrens centre plus contacted rescue centres.I have contacted 3 local radio stations. After advice from Steph, I shall contact network rail and the local newspapers plus any others i can think of. I also have friends visiting local area and speaking to people plus handing out leaflets. I have informed all of my friends and toild everyone on my facebook status plus creating a facebook page called 'Finding Amber' in the hope that people will spread the word about her. I am now very limited as to being able to get out and need to bring some kind of normality to my children who are also shattered as not sleeping. Dont know what else to do....

I have just spoken to Amber's owner,There have been no sightings of Amber as yet. Posters are everywhere & all vets ,DWs etc are aware. This little dog is needed by her family especially the young members. It could be that someone well meaning has taken Amber in, thinking that she is a stray. Well done for posting vixster, and welcome. This will be brilliant now, and we can get better updates. When you are unable to get out postering, try to use that time to contact your papers, and local freebies, that go to every house. Ask them to run the photos as well, and also contact radio. When you know if any articles are going in, if you post here, we will push to the top again. Really feel for you, and understand how difficult it is for you, but do stay positive, and stick with it. If she is not stuck down an animal hole, then someone will eventually see her. You have done an amazing job so far all on your own. Good luck for tomorrow. x

I have contacted dog warden, who has notified other dog wardens, the park ranger of the woodland park where Amber ran off, the police, local kennels, vets, 2 rspca centres and of course 'doglost'. I have delivered over 150 flyers through local houses and put posters on every entrance to the park, bus shelters, lampposts, local newsagents,fish and chip shop, hairdressers and barbers, off licence, chinese take away and indian restaurant. The woodland park is about 7 miles away from me but a well known dog walking area so i have placed posters in my local village in the hope someone will call. I am desperate as I am on my own dealing with this as husband is away and I have 3 small boys to consider. My Dad is also away on holiday so no help with childcare. This makes it even harder. Will phone rescue centres, more kennels in area and vets plus dog trainers.

Sadly no news on Amber today. Owner has followed advice - made a safe place and layed scent. Also dropped loads of flyers and posters. Hopefully with more posters going out tomorrow, and more publicity, we will soon hear something. Have suggested local paper coverage and radio now.

Extract from email received.   Many thanks for your e-mail and text message. I would not have thought about leaving any 'scent' trails for her so that is brilliant advice. Unfortunately I will not be able to do that this evening as the place where she ran off is about 6 miles away and we always drive there. In the morning I will go to the woodland park and put up posters and look for her so I will definitely take your advice and make a scent trail. It is incredibly frustrating as we were practically at the entrance of the woodland park when she ran off on the scent of an animal. We frequently go to this park and she has always come back. I was at the park calling her for a good couple of hours after she ran off and then my husband came along to take over. He was there for another 2 hours walking around and talking to people. He also went to some local shops and pubs to give our details. The local dog warden has been contacted and I have e-mailed the park ranger of the park plus local groups connected with the park.   Thank you for your advice and documents, i shall def do this in the morning.

Thank you for getting the photos on so quickly. There is a poster available for printing from this page. Click on DOG POSTER 1, on the left, and above dogs detail boxes. You will need to get hundreds out there as soon as possible, both in area of loss, and further away where lots of people go, and also give to dog walkers in the area. I have also emailed you postering guidelines which should give you some ideas. If Amber has been walked out from home, and then lost, she may find her way home tonight, so please leave a way open for her, with bedding, food, and water, by the door. This should keep her from runnng off straight away again. Dog wardens and other authorities need notifying. Please see emailed sheet. Good luck, and hope she will be home soon.
