- Take Ellie out on her lead with you when you search.
Try putting some worn but unwashed clothing from his favourite person down in the area he went missing from. Add some smelly food like canned pilchards and leave a note asking people not to remove them.
Dogs usually triangulate back to the place they went missing from so keep checking there
