- Other Info Oreo is an indoor cat so I'm very worried because he's not been around roads or cars and doesn't have the experience or sense around them. We have heard that 2 black and white cats have been hit and killed by cars not that far away just yesterday and today and he's been missing since yesterday.

- Incidentally be careful if, and when opening windows, as cats have very flexible spines, so the can squeeze into very small spaces (About 2"/4" wide) XX

- Absolutely fantastic news. Elated for owners. Oreo has probably been trapped in some outbuilding. When searching sheds; garages etc always do numerous checks, as cats can stay very quiet when trapped. Assume Oreo is neutered? Stay close now Oreo:- )

- OREO`S OWNER. I would also contact Colin Butcher (Ex police detective) in Surrey, where he still resides, but now works as a Per Detective, and owns a black Cocker Spaniel named Molly, who has been specially trained at a Dog Detective school to find missing cats, and is believed to be the only dog in the UK to be able to do this, and has located many lost, and stolen cats, and reunited them with their owners. He is willing to travel a fair distance, and you are only about 45 minutes away. (Molly won`t hurt the cat) He reduces the cost of those on low incomes etc, but is willing to give advice over the phone. Maybe worth a try. His email is info@thepetdetectives.com Phone no. 01403 753 463. Keep us posted xLast edited: 2023-05-02 08:35:58 by TrudielovesMax!

- Have you contacted Animal Rescue Centres, or Cat Protection in case he has been handed in? As sometimes the microchip can slip. Or it may be that someone has taken a fancy to him and is hiding him in their house, it can happen, as it happened to a relative of mine; on this site too. Paws xd.

- As no found yet, take good walks around the area, taking with you, an object with his scent on, and rattle his favourite treats. Someone may be feeding him, thinking he`s a stray. People don`t always think to have them scanned for a microchip. If all else fails, you could borrow a cat trap from an Animal Rescue Centre; maybe for a small donation. They will help you set it. Assume you have posted around the area, and posted through doors too? Come on Oreo, you owners are missing you, and need you back home. Paws xd

- When indoor cats go awol like this, they will usually feel very scared, and anxious, being out of their comfort zone which is in their own homes with people they trust; their owners, although some indoor cats will have an adventure in someone`s garden. A door he has access to open wide, and stand aside. Do not block hi entrance, lor he may feel "Threatened" and run off again. Place his unwashed blanket into a clean container, and leave it about 1/2 metres from the open door. Put his favourite treat about twice the width of the open door. With cats, as you know it`s all about scent. If you see Oreo approaching, just act nonchalant, as though him going awol hasn`t worried you even though it has of course. When searching outbuildings, check numerous times as cats can stay very still, and quiet when trapped. They are renowned for it. Hope Oreo is reunited soon. Paws xd.
