the dog warden was unable to read the chip, he says it is a chip but obviously it's not working. She's doing fine though. The dog warden seems to think she's been dumped!!

I've just checked epupz and the stolen bitch is much much bigger than this whippet, shame it's not the one though.
Also the scanner i used picked up all of my dogs chips and my friends 2 alsations. The dog warden is coming today to scan her again. just hope he can read her chip

Ive just looked on epupz website and someone in norfolk(i know there is miles difference but you never know) has had a whippet x stolen which looks very similar to this one...if you go on epupz.co.uk scroll down and press whippet(breed) and norfolk(area) you will come to it,but there are some likeness's...

What a beautiful girl she is, hope someone's missing her. My vet was telling me about scanners and says you have to make sure the batteries are well charged or new or as soon as they start winding down, they may not pick up a chip.  Incidently, if it is a biotherm chip, unless it is a newer fully charged scanner, not all will pick up the chip as they hold more info on them and need more power to get the info.  It maybe worth trying a few scanners in this instance.

It's a non ped whippet type. There bred to race. I am an experienced whippet owner(kc registered) and also a photographer that covers many non ped racing events. As you say she's a longer thiner nose than kc registered whippet. Hopefully the dog warden will get back to me tomorrow i'm going to get him to scan her to see if his scanner picks up the chip, Although the scanner i tried picked all my dogs up and a friends 2 alsations so i'm not hopeful.
Lets hope her owner comes forward soon

This looks very lurchery to me, longer in the face and body than a pure whippet? Is it possible to try a different scanner as reportedly some only pick up certain brands, not sure how true that is :(

I've been to take the photo's today, i keep whippets myself and IMO this whippet has been kept in the house and has been very well cared for. She is very friendly and full of fuss. Someone must be missing her
