I had a phone call this evening from a friend who was trying to catch a stray dog  (staffie  or staffie cross ) and rang me to see if we had any missing locally - the description was very close  to CASSIE  and the area of the sighted one was Great Horton, Bradford  She couldnt try get the dog in her house as has a lot of cats but managed to get the dog into her garden ( which thought would be secure as it is fenced off and has gates )   this girl was friendly and she put food down for her which she ate --- but then whilst on the phone  to the police to see if the dog was registered with them as lost/stolen  - when she went back  possibly 10 minutes later, the dog had gone --possibly squeezed through a gap in the fence.   Her partner immediately drove around the area to see if could see her again -- I was travelling across to her as this sounded very much like Cassie as   Halifax to Queensbury/Great Horton isnt beyond the realms of possibilities. I also went around the area for a couple of hours but couldn't see her.  My friend will put food down in the garden in case this dog comes back After speaking to the owner it appears that Cassie was known to have been picked up by a van driver who is known to be from Bradford.   Suggested owner contact police again re this as they were going to get back to her after police spoke to the shop owner.( which they haven't as yet) Perhaps the person who took Cassie has now dumped her as getting a bit too close. Lots of postering needs to be done around this particular area ,and have advised checking regularly with Fleet Kennels and Springfield Kennels.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Photo/s cropped and reloaded last night.  Mobile numbers also updated as request via email to Admin yesterday.  To print posters you need to be registered on DL and logged in.  Good luck.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Perhaps this could be put as FOUND  and cross posted to other sites  in case the owners HAVE moved and not updated their info.   It does happen, I can think of two cases where details werent updated relatively recently.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Jayne, should have made myself clearer on the phone as it was one of our great helpers who let me know it wasn't Cassie sadly.

She did scan it, the microchip people gave her the address, I think she said it was Huddersfield and the phone number was unattainable, she was going to follow it up further today until I spotted Cassie on Dog Lost, I presume the owners have moved and not updated the chip conpany.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am involved in a local dog rescue and we have had a meeting this evening and Sarah one of the members was saying that she had picked up a tan staffie with white down its front, it was just running in the road, at the moment it is asleep on her bed, I have phoned her about Cassie and when she gets home she is going to look on Dog Lost to see if the dog she has is Cassie, fingers crossed it is. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We use Westmount Vets on Pellon Lane, but other than that I don't know the area at all.  However, I was there an hour or so ago and didn't spot any doglost posters, so I do recommend that the owner or someone nearer drop one off.  They have a pretty good notice board.
