This is wonderfully good news, owners must be so so thrilled, it must be particularly hard to lose such an oldie under these circumstances.   Welcome home Tara, enjoy your twilight time with those who love you xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

FANTASTIC - welcome home Tara. I hate reading about oldies going missing. You must be overjoyed (to put it mildly!) to have her back. BridgetLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had an email from Taras owners. GREAT NEWS SHE IS HOME.   Just to let you know that 8 weeks after she went missing we have Tara home safe and sound!! We got a tip off last night that someone had her and the police rang this morning to say they had her She is fine We cant believe it and are so HAPPY!! Do you update the website or do we?? Thanks for all your helpLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email sent for update, here is the reply Alison No sadly we have not found her ? had some hope last week when someone rang the rspca with a name of a man they said had her The police went around but it wasn?t tara ? we knew the chances were small but my emotions weren?t under control We now wonder if she took herself off somewhere to lie down and disappear. We have had a number of people say they have had pets who have done this Maybe if this is what happened we will find her collar one day in the woods We do so appreciate all your help and support and now know so much more about what to do when an animal disappears We would like to send a cheque as a way of saying thank you ? where should we send it and to whom would it be payable Thnaks againLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Only found out about this yesterday, as this is the dog of a friend of mine and she lives out of my immediate area. Have circulated poster around obedience/breed webrings, and also am going to Southern Counties Championship show today in Newbury so will circulate poster there too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to owners who are doing a great job postering and getting lots of people aware Tara's missing.  Advised going out at dawn and dusk especially as she's a old girl and likely to stay in the shady bits during these hot days keeping nice and cool and watching the world go by, also to contact Basingstoke Gazette and other papers / parish magazines, also free papers - some are great at helping, others not so willing.  Will be able to get up there on Wednesday, fingers crossed she's home before then.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Called owner this morning. They have spent all weekend combing the woods but there has been no sign of Tara. Owner is going to visit pounds this morning and contact dog wardens in the hope that someone has kept hold of her over the weekend.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to owner. She is emailing a photo through to admin now. This old dog still hasn't been found and is either laying down exhausted somewhere or has been taken in by somone. Family and friends have been out in Sanford woods searching everyday. Have advised owner about scenting the area. Also told them to try and get an appeal on the local radio. Am going to send as much info as I can but would appreciate help from area co-ordinator if around.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keep going back to area where you last saw her - they so often return to last place they saw their owner. Also leave some food there and an item of clothing with your scent on it. If you can email a photo of her to admin they can get posters made up which you can then blitz the area with. Good luck xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
