This is wonderful news that Jess is safe and that she has spent Christmas with a foster family and had some well deserved home comforts. Thanks go out to the team who have built up the trust and the feeding pattern that finally got Jess to safety in the trap, it is a mammoth undertaking so well done all. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jess has been caught in the trap and after a couple of days in holding kennels has gone off to a nice foster home for Christmas with a view to rehoming in the New Year.  An ENORMOUS thank you to everyone involved, not least Laura and Sam for their many months of hard work keeping her in the area and to Sandie who gave us permission to put the trap out and helped konitor it.  Heres hoping Jess finds a wonderful forever home soon, she has been through so much since her escape in May.  She is a fantastic looking dog and has coped so well fending for herself over the last seven months.  Over to blue for you little one, a very lucky lady.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We're up and running - or rather waiting.  Trap primmed and ready.  Come on Jess, surely it's time to get in the warm, it's not nice out there and so close to a major road.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dogs Trust in Newbury have a trap we can borrow, will collect this morning, - thank you so much to them for their help.  Fingers crossed we have her in the warm before too long and she likes Pilchards as I have a car load coming her way and I hate them!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jess is still out there. Still in the same area, spotted on Sunday by her owners who had not even had the chance to get her home. She appeared to respond when called but then backed off into the woods again. She was looking very thin but is still taking the food left out for her each day, thank you so much for puting this out.  Now we have a co-ordinator in this area maybe we can pull things together and get her safe before the winter realy sets in. I wish I lived closer but there is nothing I can do from this far away except keep praying for her safety.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

After seeing the found lab x I have contacted Jess’s owner. She has looked at the found one and it is not Jess, too much white on the chest. What we had not known thouhh is that after all this time (since May) Jess is still in the Popham Area, she is living in some woods and a local person has been puting food out for her. She has not been seen for the last 2 weeks but the food has still been taken. We realy need to find her before the winter sets in. I have updated the description details, Jess is more of a flatcoat than a smooth lab and only has a very small bit of white on her chest.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry, not paying attention!  Just down the road from me and I know a family who live next to the airfield with lots of land and horses so will alert them - and am able to go mooch around tomorrow but sadly not today.  Will call owners later to see whats happening, just hope he stays away from the road.  There's a service station either side of the road there, one with the Little Chef that that TV chef (Heston someone)turned around so always loads of people in and out of there, also Basingstoke Crematorium not too far down, assume she's on the airfield side, lets hope she doesn't try to cross over. Get those posters out and loads of them - Good LuckLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jess ran off and has been sighted several times near Popham Airfirld on the A303.  DW and owners been there today with help.  Jess recently lost her owner and has been rehomed several times in a short time. She is confused and frightened.  If you see her please call the dog warden on the contact number immediately. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I?m sorry to hear jess is missing. POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog. if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible. Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, garden centre?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you. Tell postman and take flyers to local sorting office for all postmen to carry while on rounds, binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly. Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. Cross posted to www.Labradorforums.co.uk www.Labradorks.co.uk Good luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
