I have seen posters up in various locations. Made contact with owner today who has searched quite extensively around the area, neighbouring gardens, lanes etc. A local search team (Southdowns SAR for lost animals) were also involved initially in this local search. I have shared the Doglost poster to various local village Facebook groups; Storrington, Pulborough; Thakeham plus DogLost West Sussex and Doglost Surrey. The local Arun Vets have shared extensively too. I walked the woodland off Threales Lane junction with Roundabout Lane today. I will walk locally again tomorrow. Hope there is a sighting soon and he's back home safe.

Sorry I can't get out to put posters up but I will give one to my neighbours who have a farm shop. I have already let them know about Monty as they get a lot of community members going there

Thank you Steph!

Also a poster in Monkmead woods and the shop in Thakeham next to Meadowhall vets. What about all the local vets, do they all know too?

I live in this area and have forwarded Monty's details to all the dog people I know in West Chiltington and Storrington. Has Monty's owner put a poster in the West Chiltington Nisa shop, the Post Office in the old part of West Chiltington and the Queen's Head pub? Also try contacting the West Chiltington Dog Club as they have loads of contacts. Sorry I don't have contact details for them.

Sorry to see that MONTY is missing.

  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
