Reunited - Alfie returned home last night. Thanks for keeping it calm, everyone.

Most dogs will return home, unless they're scared off by well meaning strangers trying to catch them, which is a big problem. This often occurs at night, to avoid people.

Scared dogs also seek sanctuary away from humans, on railways, which is the big danger here, so perhaps consider GPS tracker collars - Findster & Tractive (use GPS + all mobile phone networks) are about the best but it depends upon the mobile signal and terrain.

Thanks Doppy he was on his way home - he'd probably been hiding in someone's garden until there were less humans about 👍

I think I have just seen Alfie on my estate landedmans / Bankside when going to bed. Was closing curtains and saw small terrier looking dog with collar. I went downstairs to look outside but it had gone. Looked up and down street but nothing. Thought I’d look on here and I think it could be Alfie as I’m BL5 near train station. So sorry Last edited: 2023-08-13 00:20:50 by Doppy
