Suggest you go the evening before and poster entrances and poster on the day too. It is huge show and v. good for reaching a lot of local (Surrey, Sussex and Hants) people. don’t give up . . . Message from Patsy:
Still postering where I can for Teddy. Saturday at the Ripley Event companion dog show and earlier in the week at Pets at Home in Raynes Park (both in store and vet practice), at Surrey Equestrian in Hersham and around Leatherhead town. Sorry you've had no news Angie. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Angie, I am still watching the DLWebsite and hoping to see Good News - Teddy is home with you.  Last Thursday a dear little dog  very like Teddy (with owner)  came into the QEF Shop E Horsley - she is a crossbreed similar colour etc to Teddy - but not a Cockerpoo.  I  thought I had better mention it - just in case anyone in Horsley gets in touch with you having thought they might possibly seen Teddy - when it could be her.  I continue to send my BWLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angie, I've sent you an email. There are very few posters in the Fetcham area, so you best bet is to plaster the area with posters.
Vets and Margaret Rose Pet Shop have been done at the beginning of this search. Any area where there is a reported sighting should be well postered as soon as poss.. Went to Ockham fete and dog show last sunday and put up Teddy posters along with other local missing dogs'
posters and also gave some out to people competing at show. Recently dropped posters off at vets in Banstead and Drift Bridge, Epsom when passing. Poster up in Oxshott post office stores. Have given out lots to local people and beyond. I know that DL helper, Mary F, is still busy postering where she can.  Angie, I have lots of printed posters if you need more. Also, do link up with owners of Scrawn, missing presumed stolen from Fetcham. Don't give up!  Is the breeder helping
you with posters too? It's Box Hill fete and dog show this weekend  -
great place to give out posters. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Angie, I went to Cobham Park Vets this morning with my dog and brought Teddy to CPV's attetntion again - just in case somehow someone brings him in there! I also have put up Teddy's posters at Sheepleas both at St Mary's Car Park and also Shere Road Car Park.  Finally I have  taken Teddy's poster to the Local Post Sorting Office here in Horsley and asked them to display Teddy's Poster so that  Postmen and Postwomen to look out for news of him both in East and West Horsley. BW JoLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi A - I dropped into Pets Corner East Horsley this afternoon and saw your poster - prominently placed on the counter - they are also keeping their ears and eyes open. Here's hoping that all the other people you have sent Teddy's posters to also do the same and that Teddy is home with you soon. BW JoLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

yes will definitely speak to surrey ad, eve std and metro - and get more publicity.  had a call today from lady in burpham nr guildford who said she has a puppy that looks exactly the same as Teddy, he is nine weeks old and a labradoodle, but matches the picture in the paper so might get some calls about sightings in that area - she said she was more than happy for me to go and see her dog to confirm it wasn't teddy. really hoping there will be a repeat of the bookham story and that teddy is found soon, paws crossed. thanks again everyone.  have emailed the doglost link to dorking advertiser. Hi Angie  -  I've been following your story and like everyone else was delighted to see good coverage in local paper this week. A few years ago some Bookham folk tied their dog up outside the Co-op in Bookham High Street (see Patsy's message) - dog was stolen -  was similarly featured on front of local paper that week - spotted by member of the public 10 days later - and recovered by Police who acted very promptly!  So here's hoping you have similar success.  I have today emailed a list of useful contacts to Jo and asked her to forward them to you.  Very best wishes ---  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from Patsy:
Thursday evening I saw a lovely little JRT type tied up outside Co-op in Bookham High Street. I waited for owner to come out and then gave him Teddy's poster and explained danger of dog thieves around here. V.
nice man, interested to hear what I said and thanked me for my concern etc. (I'm sure initially he thought I was some nutter stalking his dog . . . ) Nice Co-op staff let me put up poster and other customers showed interest  -  local paper with Teddy on the front was on news stand just by the door. All helps to spread the word . . . . I suggest we all follow-up this week's article in local paper with letters to the editor to keep dialogue going and keep Teddy in the news (although let's hope he is home by then). Angie:  do try to get Surrey Advertiser to do similar story. Also try to get Evening Standard and Metro (free paper on the trains and tubes), both good for S. London.
Lots of fairs, fetes, horse shows etc this weekend, all good for
posters.   Will try to get out postering more tomorrow. a PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

am really pleased with the newspaper coverage, my husband dealt with it all as I was really upset when they called - however we were both concerned that the article didn't thank people for their help and we are SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone for their help, couldn't have coped without them, will speak to dorking advertiser and ask if they can add the link to the doglost website. also that they said the van was green not white, but will mention that to them too. Have been doing a mailshot today with teddy' s poster to as many dog groomers as possible, will get more out tomorrow, have friend who is trying to get some posters up in the putney and wimbledon areas, and also so great to see that people have posters of teddy in their cars too. just as i am losing hope that we will find him, i read the updates on the doglost website and makes me all determined again. thanks everyone xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Angie - Great newspaper coverage - fingers crossed it will do the trick and help you find Teddy.  Just thought I would tell you that the Posters are working!   an Effingham friend of mine saw some known (to her)  to be fellow dog lovers taking down Teddy's details (from the Effingham Post Office)  - so they also are looking out for him - as are I am sure lots of other doggie people who are not posting notes on the DL website  Good Luck  My BW Jo Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very good article with pic of Teddy in this week's Leatherhead & Dorking Advertiser. Here is link:  http://www.thisissurreytoday.co.uk/news/Westcott-family-distraught-heartless-dognapping/article-1110125-detail/article.html
Pity there was no mention of DogLost.  Angie:  maybe you could ask them to put link to DL on their website.
Article mentions that the vehicle was a green pick-up truck. Put poster up today on notice board at Farm Lane Plant Nurseries, v. dog- friendly nurseries in Ashtead. Jayne:  could Teddy go to the top of the page please because of press coverage? That would be great. Px Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks Patsy and everyone.  I really appreciate all your comments and suggestions, I am on the case with the groomers etc, phoning round and getting their help, will keep up the posters - thanks to friends and strangers there are posters of him everywhere have had another couple of calls today but not lead to anything, at least the posters are working and people are looking out for him. still trying to remain positive that he will be home soon, responded to ad seen at dog and duck pub in horsham of found dog - but was a terrier - if anyone needs details of this let me know I have the contact details, also phoned tesco express at wallington as was a found dog poster there, but no joy,Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from Patsy:
Was in SW London today with the car and so dropped posters off at vets in Fulham Road, Putney Bridge Road, Barnes (Church Rd and White Hart Lane). Angie do please circulate posters to as many vets, pet shops, feed suppliers, animal groomers etc as poss. As Teddy is not chipped, it is so important to make these places aware of him as at some point his new owners may visit one of these places. Do please make sure you poster extensively as Dee has suggested, especially in areas of reported sightings. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angie, disappointing news but fingers crossed the police make some headway with the address in SW15. My gut feeling though is for the moment to stay closer to home with posters - these guys came through your area for a reason, they can't have been just out for a ride in a van, so they are likely to come back.   Keep making him hot in your area and move outwards.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Angie, I live in East Horsley and have put a few more posters up - one in the QEF Shop where I work on Thursday am, gave another to a friend of mine who works at the QEF shop  to put up in Ripley near her, one at East Horsley Station, and finally gave another one to a friend who stables her horses in Bookham. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but it would be a good idea to get in touch with as many mobile groomers and grooming parlours as I guess Teddy will need to be clipped.  I hope he is home with you very soon - he looks such a sweetheart.  Julie XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No positive news to report sadly, but just to let you all the know the lastest - the police have finally followed up the address  where the number plate was registered in croydon, the people at this address had sold the van two days before Teddy had been stolen.  The address on the forms to the person they sold it to is SW15 which is Putney, Roehampton, Kingston Vale areas.....however this could well be a false address anyway. We had a few phonecalls from the poster ads over the weekend which the we followed up, a sighting of a puppy in Horsley Village Hall car park last friday, but no joy, although please if you are in that area, keep looking.  The other was an anonymous call saying a puppy like teddy had been seen in ash nr aldershot, the police did follow this up, but it wasn't teddy.  Then we had a call today that 3 girls had been seen in Godalming High Street with a puppy like ours - some friends of ours drove round Godalming and I walked round the high street, river, parks etc, but no luck. We have agreed to let the dorking advertiser run a story this week on Teddy, in the hope this will create more attention, and also to make people aware how common this type of theft is.  thank you all for your help and will keep on searching. Message from Patsy:
Went to Celia Cross Greyhound Rescue show in Cranleigh on Saturday morning and gave out lots of posters and put them up for all to see. Somebody had already put up ad from local paper on notice board and many already aware of Teddy. On the way home, dropped posters off at vets in Ewhurst and Ockley, Village Greens Farm Shop in Ockley (always v. supportive of DL), Margaret Rose petshop and Pet Doctors in Fetcham. Later in the day, dropped another poster off at Lower Ashtead vets. Spoke to DL helper MaryF in the evening  - she's done masses of good postering and leafletting in the Mickleham/Norbury Park/Westhumble area, including laminated posters in prominent places and dished out loads of posters to members of Cannons Health Club in Leatherhead. Paula has left me with a big supply of posters, so MaryF, JanS, Jo, Freda and anyone else who needs any do please call me. PxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
