We have been to Battersea and she is now with them, so if anyone does come forward to claim her please contact them.

Looking on the Battersea site it says they only accept dogs from 9 - 5, so if you are still looking, it might be an idea to take the dog to Battersea before 5 and explain the situation including the lack of response from the Local animal wardens in Newham, There are no responses from any of the Battersea contact numbers I have just tried, but the suggestion I made is just that only an idea.Last edited: 2023-10-17 13:02:46 by Twizzle

She has managed to find a vet to check the chip, the dog is not chipped. The vets have also tried to contact the dog warden without any luck. Ive tried to contact Battersea via online form and left a voicemail because there doesnt seem anyone available to take the calls. It says on the website not to bring in a stray without letting them know first. If we do just go straight to Battersea will they accept her ? The landlord has said the dog cannot stay another night so we only have a few hours to find a safe place for this dog to go.

Thank you Claire - very kind of you and the lady. Battersea would be a good option as Newham Council work closely with them. This is Dog Warden number 020 8586 9739

I will also message them and see if we can get them helping quickly

The dog was found running around locally, in and amongst traffic and no one was taking any notice of her. The lady that did intervene to help has taken her home and has tried to contact the local dog warden but couldnt get through on the phone. She has left a message but no reply as yet. The dog can only stay with her for one day because the landlord has told her to put the dog back out on the street. She doesnt have a local vet she can take the dog to in order to try and check the chip. If the dog warden does not get back to her in time before she has to put the dog back out on the street again the dog will go to Battersea to see if they can take her in. (She has been reported to Battersea already too as a 'found' dog).
