I think buds mum. you have posted on the wrong thread. LOL Never mind. Terri and Glen - sorry havnt posted again, as have had a busy weekend family wise and not been on here much, but thank you for your update, and I do hope Lashes poor feet will be back to normal soon. Poor girl. You must all be exhausted, so a few lazy days this week may help you all. I cant help thinking we all had a stroke of luck this time ! Take care now - and please stay safe Lashes. Love to you all  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lashes
Well, we all had a lay-in this morning!! Lashes is OK, hobbling a little with her sore feet but otherwise fine - currently snoozing on her cushions in the sun on the patio (normality has resumed!).  We got a call about 8pm saying that she was spotted and luckily, it was where Glen and I had been earlier.  We suspect she would have heard us calling her but she was just not able to get to us because of her sore paws. The lady who called us just kept her distance, keeping an eye on her.  Once we arrived and Lashes realised it was us, she came out of hiding.  Thank goodness it wasnt another long absence like last time. BIG THANK YOU TO JO for being on ready and to everyone who has helped once again.  Anyone know where we can buy doggie GPS?!!!!!!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I should have said THANK YOU SO MUCH to the very clever lady who did not attempt to catch her, but made the call instead. Well done ! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so glad she's found and hope she'll be OK soon, her poor paws!  Her (first) escapade was one of the first ones I followed when I joined Doglost and the determination of her humans and other people to find her, and then that wonderful picture of her on her back on the sofa, were what made me stay.  And though I haven't done a great deal, I hope that some of the networking I've done may have helped.  So she is one to thank.  So happy for her owners and of course for her :)

GREAT NEWS - LASHES IS BACK!!!! Yipppppeeeeee! Just had a call from Glen to say they have Lashes. She was found off Greensward Lane in the Ashingdon direction - a lady with horses down there saw Lashes hiding in the grass, ran back to her car to call T & G who went there and with a lot of persuasion Lashes came out. She's got very sore paws but is otherwise fine. T & G pass on there thanks, and thanks from me too to all you great helpers! Will very gladly and happily move Lashes into the blue.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I rarely go over to Hockley woods, but I'm not that far away (Thundersley).A couple of my friends go to Hockley Woods at the weekend to walk their dogs so will let them know that Lashes is missing. Hope she's home safe and sound soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Lashes
Just got back from postering and speaking to people around the area where last sighted - footpaths off of Greensward Lane up to The Chase and surrounding area. From there she could have gone north to Fambridge, east to Ashingdon or doubled back into Hockley and Woods. As yet, we dont know where to 'camp out' as we dont have a triangular pattern on which to base ourselves.  We will continue postering and walking new and previous areas and hopefully will receive some calls re sightings soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Terri, if Glen is camping up there, it may be an idea to set up her cage, a little further away, with food and some of your clothing and scent around. You can protect it partly with a blanket. At the mo, she's not been loose for long, and her cage is her bed, so she may just go into it and take refuge. Just a thought.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lashes
Deja vu! We were on hols with neighbours/friends looking after Lashes during day and evenings. When one of them came in to check on things (post, fish, etc), Lashes just made a bee-line for the door and kept going.  (not sure if something might have got her worried before the neighbour came in). I got home Fri evening. We have been out walking and postering in the key areas this morning and are going out again this afternoon, with scent!!.  We dont think she would have run quite so far this time and hopefully she will find an area that she recognises and try and track her way home. Not sure how far the phoning around has gone so far but I believe some vets have been contacted, dog wardens, police, Network Rail. Thanks to all who are out there helping - again!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've walked from Cherry Orchard to Hockley Woods today and put posters anywhere not already covered. Lots of posters up there now on most routes/directions. Also emailed all registered doglost helpers in SS2, SS4, SS5, SS6 and SS9 postcodes. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met owner by chance this morning whilst postering and handing out flyers. No more sightngs, apart from that she had been seen on the railway line, trying to cross, so we hope that she has stayed safe, and kept into the fields as last time. Owners know most of her routes from last time, and will set up camp in a well selected position. Hope it wont be so long before she gives in this time. Will do what I can to keep watch, as often as possible, and will hand out flyers to walkers and bike riders in the area. Please stay safe Lashes.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am local and helped in the search for Lashes 2 years ago. I have added a link to Lashes DogLost poster on my Facebook home page so that all my friends look out for her too. I have have added a note to say that if she is spotted she is not to be approached and that Terri & Glen are to be notified of her location immediately. I really hope she is found quickly. Really sorry to see this. I know owners will be devastated. What a shame. Will do what I can down my end, and have put contact numbers back in my phone. Hopefully she will stay safe, as last time, but we never did find out where she made her nest. The crops are high in the fields again, just like last time, but I'm wondering if she may find her way back to the same garden where she was fed and caught last time. Owners would be advised to contact the man again and warn him she may well be around. Lets hope so. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lashes’s previous page is here (ID 9980) http://www.doglost.co.uk/Page.aspx?data=pzp8JrdCfxmOYLL7ThMH8cgDIBGNb_3527O0VXDwo%2f3iFc4FVbsMN9JHtQQezThLuq5 Have put her on a new listing rather than changing status of previous one back to lost because as we can only see 10pgs of comments per dogs page at the mo, didn’t want new comments this time round to make old comments on previous listing no longer viewable as they’d go past pg10 (hope you’re with me!)as she’s in the same area again, these old comments may be useful incase same patterns emerge!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Some of you will no doubt recognise Lashes, she went missing 2 years ago (almost to the day - 24th June last time I believe), and sadly she's missing again. I am sure Terri and Glen will fill you in more when they're on line, but they were away (are now back) and Lashes escaped from her garden when someone was in feeding the fish I believe. Sightings last night, one at the graffiti railway bridge near Rochford Rugby Club (in Hockley) and also seen on the Broadlands Estate. Has possibly injured her paw too. She is heading back towards the same area she was in before - fields between Rectory Rd and Ironwell Lane, around Ironwall Lane up to Hall Road, around Keddies/The Lawns and Cherry Orchard Country Park. Just finalising the posters and flyers now, will email out to all local helpers as soon as done.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
