- It is not at all unusual for dogs to return to or stay in the vicinity in which they were first lost. It looks as though Nemo is doing just that. I would suggest that you find somewhere quiet but where you can observe and put food down twice a day at the same times. Put something smelly on top like pilchards. Dogs will smell it for miles and cannot resist it. ~This will keep him there and enable you to see him. Dont call or run after him if you do. VERY difficult at first but you have to let him come to you and he will probably eventually do that. Good luck...

- Neemo was spotted on Friday 21 August 2009 at 14.30 pm sprinting between 2 beanfields very close to where he was lost in cheesemans green lane near Mersham. The lady that saw him called him, but he disappeared into the beans and did not come back. We were there within an hour (it is 12 miles from our house) but no sign. I later returned with our other dog, but to no avail. We have also found out that he is not part chiuahua, but part podenco, Spanish wild dog which may explain his reluctance to come out at the moment. We assume he is hiding in the area. He was lost near a vast wood. Not sure what to do now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Have spoken to Neemos owner . Neemo is a rescue dog from Spain and his eyesight is bad He is a shy dog and was attending socialisation class when he escaped. Owners were out looking for him until it got dark He has since been sighted around Ashford Market and near the business park ( there is a McDonalds there) so could have been attracted by the smell of food. He was last seen a couple of times on Sunday around 6.30 - 7.00pm very close to where he went missing so could have been trying to find his way back. He was also seen to be still wearing his collar and tag. Neemo is chipped also. Owners have put lots of posters up, contacted the dog warden, kennels, police. Many people in the area are also aware he is missing. They have tried setting a trap near to where he was last sighted on Sunday which is quite rural. Have suggested that he may have been taken in by a well meaning person, and to continue getting posters up, and emailing them into the vets in the area. Stressed the importance of visiting the stray kennels in person even though Neemo is chipped. Owners are going to contact other dog wardens bordering the area also, and checking the same with THEIR stray kennels. Keep safe Neemo and fingers crossed you are back home quickly xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
