Thanks so much Jayne for the call, we were just finishing off getting our new Pug puppy ear tattooed, so could not speak to you properly. I've spoken to Kayleigh who is obviously over the moon, she has had problems with her computer and is using someone else's.  Freddy was picked up wandering in the Wigan area by the DW, which is approx 14 miles from where he went missing.  He is a lot thinner but does not look like he has been out all this time.  Kayleigh said he has come back with a few more good manners.  It was due to a keen eyed member of staff in Leigh Cats & Dogs Home who recognised him from a DL poster emailed to them.  THANK YOU to them for displaying the poster and their staff member you have made one owner and us on DL very happy.  Kayleigh will be getting Freddy chipped a.s.a.p.  Have gone through some places to take him and also discussed about getting him Tattooed.  Kayleigh has worked so hard in searching for her lovely boy and really deserves to get him home.  Welcome home Freddy and look forward to the Reunited photo.  Now have the pleasure of emailing out and letting everyone know he is HOME.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
e mail from owner: Hello, my dog Freddy's ID is 18923.

Im thrilled to be able to tell you i have been reunited with him.
While out having dinner yesterday 30/08/09 i recieved a call from Leigh cats and dogs home, they had found a dog that looked just like a dog they had recieved a missing poster of. I sorted out a lift and within 30 minutes had arrived in Leigh.
Long story short it was Freddy, a little slimmer than he was, but unmistakably him!  He recognised me straight away and has settled back in at home fine. Seems perfectly happy, like nothing ever happend! I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you soooo much. as it was one of your posters that got him home. You have been such a great help and i couldnt have coped without your help and support. ill send a picture with my next email. havent managed to take one yet.
again form me, and Freddy. thank you!!!!

Spoken to Kayleigh tonight, the found dog was a brindle coloured one.  Email sent again with a poster to Leigh Cats & Dogs Home highlighting Kayleigh spoke to them yesterday.  Leigh do display missing dogs on their notice board.  Kayleigh has also contacted St Helens DW.  The area Freddy has gone missing borders with a few Council's which I advised should be contacted when first meeting up with Kayleigh.  I was in Halewood RSPCA today and had a quick look round in case Freddy was there.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Met up with owner tonight to pass posters, wallets and tape to them so they can start postering the area asap.  We looked at a map of the area and went through some places/areas to target.  Owner has cancelled a holiday which is due to have been in three weeks time.  They are having problems with internet at the moment but this should be sorted soon.  Owner is going to also try Manchester Dog's Home and Leigh Cat's & Dogs Home. I spoke to another DL helper yesterday who lives in the area and has offered to also help family in their search, thank you for helping to look out for him. I've printed 100's of various size posters off for owner as they are having problems with their printer, these will be passed onto them later today and should keep them going for a while.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Various size posters emailed to owner, rescues, some helpers in the area and Co-ordinators Goldenfrodo and Jaspbenswood.  Once they start getting circulated hopefully it will start bringing sightings in.  Good luck.  Jan x If anyone is able to help spread the word or poster please let us know.  Thanks.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've had a long chat with Freddy's owner.  There have been no reported sightings.  He has been reported to the DW and owner has visited Halewood RSPCA which is where he would be taken to, I've advised contacting DW/kennels in bordering areas.  Given owner further advice and places to poster and stressed the importance of postering with a photo to vets etc also to try and get something in they paper.  I'll do various size posters and email to owner with further info/advice. This is the same area as Tilly ID 18752 (now reunited).  I've spoken to her owner and they have now contacted Freddy's owner with advice of what they did (THANK YOU).  They did brilliantly in their search and it paid off.  Like Tilly Freddy may have been picked up and finder has not reported him to DW etc once his details/picture gets seen owners may get the call they are waiting for.  Owner said they will register and post updates, but did try and register and had problems with their Internet.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Freddy ran off whilst on a walk. His owner has contacted the dog warden and been to the stray kennels and i have advised to keep checking with them. He had only been with his current owner for a few weeks and may not know his way home. Hoping to see this boy home again very soon xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Get lots of "missing" posters up really quickly, that's the best way to get Freddy back.  The more people that see the posters, the more chance of someone recognising him.  Best of luck finding him.  xx
