- Oh Lucy! This is just wonderful news. It's the first time I've been able to get into my computer today and so was so very pleased to see that Stanley had been moved to the blue area. Very well done for your tenacity. I would have done exactly the same as you i.e. cancel the party but lets hope your celebrations go well and that everyone has a great time!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- WE HAVE FOUND STANLEY SAFE AND WELL!!
After sightings in Newington Green, we postered the area and left our scent in two safe areas nearby.
As we packed up to return this morning a very kind lady called Nicky called to say she'd seen him running from a park in the area to a housing estate. We went straight there. One of our group saw him run from the park again to the estate and eventually a lady called Lesley managed to corner him in a school playground.
As soon as we got there he recognised us, ate a whole pack of chicken and drank a whole bottle of water. He looks fine, but very tired. He has had a bath and will see the vet and have a flea treatment this afternoon.
We also found out that on Friday night he was sitting after running from his walk in the park he sat with a lady who works locally on our door step and it was young boy on a bike that tried to grab him from her that caused him to bolt. We also had other reports of this boy acting as though it was his dog. Stanley bit him hard we're told and then fled. This makes me very angry.
What I hadn't posted was that we were due to celebrate my 30th Birthday and our recent enagement on Saturday with 80 family and friends. The whole event had to be cancelled on Saturday morning as we started our search.
We lok forward to celebrating with Stanley soon. Thank you all for your advice.
x Lucy

- Sorry to see Stanley is missing Lucy. I think, but am not totally sure, that SDK also use RSPCA Hillside Kennels at Waltham Abbey. I used to be in contact with the SE manager for SDK, but sadly the contact details I have for him are no longer active, or I'd have been straight on the phone to him! You sound like you are working really hard to find your gorgeous boy, and have been given lots of great advice already, fingers crossed here that Stanley will be home very soon. - Lucy I am so pleased you have had these sightings !! Keep postering this area and a little further afield. He may well stay within an area and if you can try and plot these and any more sightings you get to see if they form a pattern or show a definite area he is staying within. If you see him dont run after him or make any sudden gestures as he will be feeling nervous of people and also may not recognise you immediately. Please keep us informed of ANY sightings you receive. Thinking of you and everything crossed up here in Yorkshire that he is home again very soon xx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi all following,
We were called by a man that had slowed down in his car when spotting what he thinks was Stanley in the road in Newington Green (3 miles from where he was last seen). He said Stanley was in panic and running in and out of the road. We went straight there and started calling him. 2 other groups of people we approached had seen him in the same area and in the same state.
We postered the area and are going back now to expand to some surrounding roads. We have informed the local police.
This area is a little quieter than our own, so we hope he finds somewhere safe to rest.
We really need a sighting and quick call to get on his trail. He is running in the wrong direction and doesn’t know the area, so we are now trying to guess where he’ll go and poster there first.
Any advice welcome. I believe he’s still ’at large’ and survived for 2 days, now we just need to reduce the needle in the haystack
x Lucy

- Have just spoken with the owners Mum. Stanley has been seen this evening in an area 2 to 3 miles away from his home. Have given advise and telephone numbers to be passed on and will support where ever possible. I hope to be able to 'go over' and physically help this week.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi Lucy Firstly please do not panic! Can you please e mail me with the location the Stanley went missing, and confirm if this area is one that he knows well and is walked on regularly. Please do not post the location on these pages. Assuming that you work, have you got people in place who can carry on searching on your behalf during the day? I did indeed spend 5 weeks searching for Koko, and though I live in Chelsea, our adventures were in Yorkshire. It is vital that you make as many people aware as possible and as quickly as you can. Aswell as postering I personally found that letter box drops were far more effective. Choose the areas you drop carefully and wisely. My telephone number can be obtained from Jayne at head office if you wish to speak to me and I will do my utmost to come and help you in the next day or two if there is no news. Sadly I am tied up until wednesday but am available from then on. It is also vitally important that you do carry out the scenting as per instructions! Good luck and best wishes. - Me again - meant to say that, if allowed (you may need to ask permission), take along one of those 'throw away' picnic-type BBQs early in the morning or late evening. Cook something tasty like sausages. If possible try to make sure that there are two/three of you so that you can chat 'normally', perhaps sing and laugh a bit. I know the latter may be difficult but you need to re-create a normal situation and hopefully, when Stanley pricks up those wonderful large ears of his, recognises the sounds of his family and friends. Now... where's our famous team - Dan & Koko? I'm sure Dan would be able to share some great tips. Koko was missing 'in the wilds' of Doncaster for nearly 5 weeks and in an area unknown to Koko. I know that London is a very different kettle of fish but just keep up the postering (believe us, you really can't put up too many) and just make Stanley the best known and hottest boy in town. Good Luck!!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Lucy, I'm so sorry to hear that Stanley is still missing. Our local Council (LBB Bromley) also contracts out their Dog Warden service to SDK Environmental. Their number is 01753 538 819 (they are based outside London - possibly Berkshire but might be wrong). I also have a contact name of Mr Nairn (I'm not sure of his position within SDK). Their hours of duty in Bromley are Mon-Fri (0830-1530) but hopefully they may operate extended telephone cover. You may have already done this but make sure that you return to the area where Stanley went missing from at 'first light' and last thing before darkness. Are London Fields locked up at night or is it the area that is used (or used to be used for football)? I presume it must be close to the site of the 2012 London Olympics and if so, make sure you speak to the site office and site workers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I keep adding comments, but I'm desperate to find Stan today. I read the collie dog was found using 'scenting' methods which worked when calling his name hadn't. Stanley is very wry of strangers and never liked to be petted by anyone but us. This would make him very unapproachable in his current state (when he first disappeared people tried to capture him, but he snapped-he would normally just be shy). If he is hiding and too scared to come out even when we call his name, how can we coax him out.

- Also, I have postered 'Large Cash Reward' is it better to name a price? Stanley is a hansome dog and entire and someone holding him wanting to make money may think they'll get more by selling him than returning? However, I don't want to advertised Stan as a target in the future if we are fortunate enough to get him back.

- Thank You. I think Stanley would have returned home by now too or at least been seen if he was still on the streets. He must have been taken in by someone. He is wearing a collar with my phone number on it but so far I have only had one hoax call from children saying he'd drowned in a local pond.
I have left his description with the RSPCA, Battersea, local vets and his chipping company who emailed every organisation with a reader within 30 miles. The local police have also confirmed that there have been no dog related accidents since his disappearance.
I will poster more today with my family, but can I do anything else?

- I,ve just looked on the council web site Lucy and they do seem to have a holding kennels, but you probably wont be able to get more information until Monday. This is how frustrating the service is. It does say that dogs are then passed to Battersea Dogs Home so I would try there anyway. It is also likely that someone in your area has picked Stanley up and is looking after him until after the weekend, so if I were you I would poster heavily, and put flyers through the doors. If he found his way home once, I would think he could again, which seems to say he's possibly been picked up by someone. Leave the way open with his bedding and food and water by the door in case he does get back again by himself. Also notify the microchip company he is missing. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I just tried to add a comment, but not sure if it worked? I wondered is anyone knows which kennels in Hackney the wardens use. Apparently, if Stanley is taken there over the weekend we won't find out until Monday and we are very anxious, especially with how hot today has been. The warden company is called SDK Environmental LTD.

- I contacted Stanleys owners to find out his breed as it was not showing on his page. This boy was being walked in his local park by a relative when he ran off. He was seen to make it back to his home but was then frightened off. He has not been seen or heard of since then. His owners are postering the local area. Hoping to see Stanley back home very soon xx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
