It's likely that Squid is hiding whilst he calms down. This is a good thing, as he's safe. People he's bonded with are laying scent trails, so that he knows where to go when he emerges.

Draw curtains and play music to mask sound of fireworks.

Try not to leave your pets on their own during fireworks.
