- Bruce is finally safe, after a week on the run.
There were several sightings & he eventually 'settled' on a local nature reserve, albeit next to the main A30 near Hayle.
He was fairly safe, as the field he was in, was mainly surrounded by barbed wire fencing & had a river running through it, so he was sort of contained there. he was happy mingling with the Deer, who didn't seem to mind his presence (seen on thermal camera). Cameras were set up with feeding areas & he was monitored. He managed yesterday 8/4 to enter our trap & eat the food without triggering it. Trap was adjusted this morning & after a few hours, he came back to feed & was safely caught.
We had the task of transporting him through boggy marshland & over a barbed wire fence, while still in his crate. He was happy as long as he was fed treats :)
Well done to owner Claire & family, for trusting the process, having patience (even when the equipment misbehaved) and putting in the hours to onitor & replenish food etc. You were amazing.
Welcome home Bruce xx - 2024-04-05 19:11 Tiana
