Great news Jake has been found.  I hope he is back to his normal self soon poor boy.  The weather has been so awful recently but hopefully it will give other owners hope in their search for their missing pets and prove how well they can survive.  Welcome back Jake ( and hog the fire) Helen xxx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great to receive the text earlier today from Pam (Jumanji) while in work  that Jake has been found (thank you).  Thanks also to Jarvis Cocker for letting us know and keeping us updated on how the search has been going, greatly appreciated.  Good luck Jake and wish you a very happy future and hope you settle down in a nice home.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Fantastic news and what a relief. So pleased to hear that Jake appears none the worse for his mini adventure (naughty boy, worrying everyone like that!). He certainly looks a character and clearly a natural athlete. Stay safe lovely lad and no more practising the high jump!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh what fantastic news I am so pleased this boy has been found !!  I am sure  with some TLC he will soon recover from the effects of fending for himself throughout the recent bad weather. Hopefully he will settle happily into a new and Jake escape free home very soon ! Welcome home Jake and PLEASE stay safe from now on xx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

e mail to admin...well done! Hi Jake  Ref 19297 has been found and although very thin and subdued he has survived this awful weather. he is a rescue dog and was being transported when he went missing by jumping a 6 foot fence, Kathy who is looking after him at the moment is ideal as she is such an animal person and very compassionate, he is a lovely dog and if I did not already have 2 dogs in a small house I would be tempted to keep him   Liz   Jarvis Cocker.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We now think that the sightings of Jake on the Firthcliffe estate were a red herring, after spending most of the weekend putting posters up and talking to people we realised that there was a local dog that was roaming that looked like Jake, we had a phone call from the dog warden today to say that they had just picked Jake up, he is very thin, subdued and limping badly, he has been checked by a vet and is now having some much needed rest and small amounts of food, I am sure with some TLC he will be feeling better very soon. We have had people out searching for Jake all day although we have  not had a sighting, a few people on the Firthcliffe Estate have seen him, we think that he has a Den in the out buildings on the farm up Listing Lane and is then going on the Firthcliffe Estate looking for food. We have spoken to the farmer who said he had seen some large animal paw prints and his cattle in the barns had been  a bit spooked, he has given us permission to set up a feeding station so we have left smelly sardines and trip sticks, we will check at first light tomorrow to see if they have been eaten, we know it may be foxes but hopefilly with the snow we will be able to check the paw prints and if they are large it is probably Jake. We are going to monitor the area in shifts from 7 oclock tomorrow and hopefully we will get a sighting of Jake. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had another phone call late last night from a lady who had just seen Jake in the same area that we had been postering in the afternoon, he seems to be going from the Barley Fields off of Oxford Road to the Firthcliffe and Stubly Estates looking for food in bins, we are doing some more postering today and tomorrow are getting volunteers to search the differant areas to see if we can spot him and coax him with food.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unortunately he was not wearing a tag this time, I queried this with Jarvis Cocker when updating his page.  He seems to be a real survivor, amazing to have a sighting after all this time in this horrible weather.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

so pleased to hear there have been some sightings of this elusive boy and hopefully he must have found somewhere warm to hide up in the cold weather. When he went missing last time I believe he was wearing a tag but note this time the 'tagged' box is unticked. Is this correct ? Has anyone been mapping the sightings to see if we have a clear area he is covering ? ~ Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have put up about 40 posters today and given out flyers, we have spoken to alot of people and a few of them have seen Jake over the past couple of weeks, so it seems he is staying in the area and hopefully finding food and somewhere warm to sleep, we will continue to poster tomorrow and hope to have some more phone calls as to his whereabouts.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have had a phone call this morning to say that Jake had been spotted in a garden in Leeds Road, Liversedge, the man spoke to him but he ran off towards Saxton Street. We are going this afternoon to poster the area and put flyers through doors also we are going to take food and ask people in the area he was spotted to put food down for him, he must be starving by now.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posted by Jarvis Cocker 18.12.09 Poor Jake has gone missing again, he is a bit of an escape artist and scaled a six foot fence, we have informed the dog warden, have posted the area and phone Springfield and Fleet Lane everyday, we have had no phone calls about him at all, we are hoping that in this very cold weather he is sat by somebodys fire and they just need to see a poster or check for a chip.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so pleased to say that we have had a call from a farmer in Thornton who has found Jake on his land as he had a tag on it was just a quick phone call to let us know, thanks to the farmer for keeping him safe, I was very worried that Jake might be shot as it is sheep country, I hope that it is not long before we can find Jake a loving family of his own.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the E mail Barbara and the phone call Helen also the new poster from Jan, Jake's fosterers have informed Bradford & Halifax Dog wardens and RSPCA and are actively searching for him. My friend Sue and I have today been to Fleet Lane Kennels and given them a poster also Sage Vets at Clayton, we have put posters up in Denholme, Thornton and Oxenhope and spoken to a few people about Jake, I have E mailed his poster to Kelrose Dog Club at Clayton Heights and asked their members to watch for him. As I live in Gomersal and do not know Denholme very well is there any where else Helen that you think we should be targeting, I am worried about all the sheep about where he is missing from.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
