Update from owner Paul Gates: Many thanks to everybody that has helped over the last four months to track down stolen Roman
Not going to name any names because you know who you are and you've been absolutely absolutely fantastic but I will say thanks to the guys at Hawkwind for promoting his disappearance.
Anyway he's back home now definitely the worse for wear whoever the bastards were that have had him they certainly did not love cherish or even bother feeding him but he certainly enjoyed a fish and chip supper last night and he's looking forward to being treated like the princess he really is (a bit like Eddie James).

A member of the public, Conor from Whissendine, called us yesterday to report that he'd found a large Rottweiler roaming around by the B676 at Wyfordby.
Conor had been on his way home at around 10pm when he saw "Bruce" (we thought we'd better give him a temporary name). It was raining but nonetheless Conor remained in the area, doing his best to secure Bruce who kept running off into the fields.
Conor remained with officers and with Bruce until around 1am. More officers arrived with a lead and managed to secure Bruce by trapping the other end of the lead in the door of their police car. Bear in mind that Bruce is a large dog and that he was cold, hungry and very frightened. He'd snapped and growled at us a few times so our plan was to secure him safely at arms length until a dog unit arrived to take him to a temporary kennel.
If you know who Bruce belongs to, please let us know so that we can try and repatriate him with his owner, who, hopefully, is very worried about him. In the meantime, if he's microchipped, the kennel will endeavour to make contact with his owner.
Anyway, we just wanted to say a huge thank you to the amazing Conor who spent 3 cold, wet hours looking out for Bruce.
And to Bruce, such a lovely dog, we hope you get home to your owner soon.
