Thankyou so much to John, George's new owner for the lovely thankyou email received today praising everyone very very highly for the immense support given to him by Team George here. Also for the very kind donation. Also thanks for the two beautiful new photos of the gorgeous boy with his new family. I dont think anyone can deny he looks very very settled and happy. Well done also to original owners who are emigrating, for finding such a lovely home for George. I wish you all well, and loads of luck for the future, especially George  x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What an afternoon lol That George is one very clever pup . Couldn’t have picked bigger cornfields if he’d tried . After numerous sightings and him getting close to me and Julie he did a disappearing act for ages. Decided to do a last walk up to where he kept returning and hey presto he appeared after what seemed ages the smell of 2 gorgeous girls(the dogs not me and julie lol)  got the better of him and he came over for agood smell and play. Julie grabbed him yaaaaaaaaay.
What a wonderful boy .we could have both takeen him home . So relieved he’s safe and none the worse for his ordeal just absolutely shattered :-)

Still no sightings of George - owner is on way to meet up with local volunteers to start a search of area last seen, look like there is good local knowledge of the area from helpers on the ground - hope that they can provide extra eyes and ears on the ground.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

mrs m - there is no more news. Owner is out searching and trying to poster the area also. Thank you so much for your offer of help. If you know the area and feel able to give some time, I know it would be so welcome. Do please, feel free to ring owner on the mobile number on the poster and tie up with him. Your support would be a real help. I will also email you the A4 poster and flyers. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Runfold-Eddie:
The pub is The Fancott Arms and there is a livery stable within spitting distance of the services, oh and a breakers yard and a motorway road repair depot too.   (I lived in the area for 30 yrs)  You can go the backway into the services from that road too, Done it before chasing strays, years ago.  Good Luck Merymut.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

message from contact who offered to help :) i'll do some ringing around tomorrow morning once i get to work
the recovery depot is on the road behind the services and has a huge compound and it is a likely place that he may take shelter or hide so will call them in the morning. they are a nice bunch of blokes. maybe they could put food down or something.
fingers and paws crossed

George is a Labrador cross Portuguese water dog. He had just been picked up by his new owner and was on his way home so does not know the area. Owner stopped at services as the dog was being sick..he slipped his collar and was clipped by a car on the motorway...owner followed and last saw the dog running in open countryside 1 mile west of the services.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
