- CROSS POSTED IMPORTANT UPDATE on FB by Mandy Butler (The LOSTDOG Trapping Team) on ‘ HAVE YOU SEEN RUFUS group
This post is to inform you of something distressing that has been brought to my attention. It appears that seemingly at least one person is under the incorrect impression that Rufus has died. A small wooden cross (similar to the ones used for Remembrance Sunday) has been placed near to one of the posters for Rufus, with reference written on relating for him to Rest in Peace.
I really believe that there was no maliciousness or intent to hurt by this action, but that it was placed by someone who had heard a rumour or had made a presumption that Rufus was no longer alive and that this was meant as a kind and sympathetic gesture.
However I really need to know why the person who did this genuinely believed that Rufus had died. Therfore I am asking for this person (or anyone who has information about this) to message me direct so that I have full clarity on how this misinformation arose.
Sadly Rufus's owner Carolyn was informed of this first, on Christmas Day of all days. As you can appreciate she was totally devastated. Typical of her though, she didn't tell her family or myself until yesterday as she didn't want to spoil anyone else's Christmas with the news.
We have absolutely no reason to think that Rufus is no longer with us. Until we have evidence to the contrary, Rufus is still out there, waiting to be found and the search for him continues.
Please keep looking out for Rufus and continue sharing his posts.
Thank you. — with Jo Robinson and Christine Leaper.
