I'm so glad to read that Rosie is home!  It makes me angry though, why wasn't she scanned?????!!!!!  It's just ridiculous!  It definitely should be made compulsorary for authorities to routinely scan for a microchip.  I just can't understand why they wouldn't!

Welcome home Rosie! I am disappointed (again) that not only did you have to go through all these days of hell, but also that Rosie was stuck in kennels too. Thankfully the outcome is great and Rosie is home where she belongs and that is the important thing, but also this is another case where more effective communication between bordering councils would have reunited dog and owner much more quickly AND where scanning the dog would also have had the same effect. Two issues we are always striving to improve and will continue to do so for this very reason. Well done Wendy for your persistance in your search for Rosie. Give her a hug from us!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you to everyone for their kind help and messages. Rosie has now been found. She was found on the day she went missing (on a main road just round the corner from where we live) and was taken to a kennel but in a neighbouring area. Only found because my local Dog warden suggested I try the nearby areas. She was NOT scanned and found only by my chance enquiry and description. Please be warned as would hate to think what might have happened as she was on her 5th day in the kennels when I got her back!

So sorry to see this lovely old lady has gone missing.  I will alert Beardies In Need first thing tomorrow and I know she will spread the word.  Do get posters up everywhere as someone must have seen her.  Stay safe Rosie till you are found. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm so sorry to see that Rosie is missing.  You need to put as many "missing" posters up as you can, and contact the dog warden, local vets, and rescue centres regularly.  Best of luck finding your old girl.  xx
