dear Bess was found 6th august and in an awful mess after being lost for 7 days - its now 14 days later and no word on how she is. i do hope she is recovering well and one day soon we will get an update that she is all OK.
our dear older dog is called Bess and we especially love german shepherds - so all our fingers crossed for this Bess

Are you all sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin 🥰
As you're all aware, a week ago Bess wandered off and we haven't seen her since. You have all been looking, sharing posts, messaging and supporting us...and it's been the longest week ever.
This morning we thought she'd been found but it turned out to be a male, who was happily reunited with his family.
An hour later, I was up at Kelly's and John rang me to say he'd found her. He was going out to pull ragwort and heard muffled barking. The bugger had got herself stuck down a rabbit hole! John had to dig her out, she was so stuck in there.
The upshot us, she was absolutely crawling with maggots...we got rid of most of them before her vet appointment at 2.15. She's not out of the woods and the next couple of days are crucial. She's on antibiotics and has had some medication which will hopefully kill any maggots which are internal. She's had her back end shaved so looks a bit if a state and She's unable to walk at the minute, probably because She's been stuck in one position for so long.
She's fed and watered, She's had herself up for a wee a few times and she is absolutely, absolutely shattered.
Most importantly she's back home with us, where she belongs. She's grounded indefinitely but I'll chat to her about that in a day or two when she's less tired 🥰
Massive, massive thanks to everyone who has helped and cared and responded in whatever way. The kindness we have been shown, and the care for a dog you have never met is just heart moving.
We'll all sleep tonight ❤️”
