Update 7pm Tuesday 18th August 2009
Heidi's owner Sam Mason just rang me to tell me the wonderful news that Heidi is home!
Around midday today he found Heidi sitting at the front gate of his home waiting to be let in! She appears to be in good condition, obviously thirsty and hungry and covered with sticky buds but a vet check this afternoon confirmed she is fine.
Sam would like to that everyone who helped circulate the alert that Heidi was missing and the relief of having her home is immense ? even if he would LOVE to know where she had been this past week.
Please tell everyone you know of this happy outcome and I'd like to offer my thanks too to everyone who helped publicise that Heidi was missing.
Jude

- Update 11.30am Sunday 16th August 2009 I have checked with Heidi's owner Sam again this morning and still there is no news of Heidi at all since she went missing on Tuesday evening. That is extremely worrying! Please will everyone do all you can to put word out that Heidi is still missing - she could be anywhere by now so tell everyone you know regardless of their location. All the UK Bernese Clubs and web resources have been covered and Bernese owners in the vicinity have been alerted too plus all the usual contact agencies in the area and beyond. Please report any sightings to her owner Sam Mason on 01244 629179 or mobile 07973 285169 If you cannot reach the owner contact Jude at Bernese Welfare UK on 01787 371940 Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Various size posters, further advice/info, Scenting Instructions and places to contact in the area emailed to Sam. Posters also emailed to Jude, Rescues, NW Co-ordinators and some helpers in the area. Good luck and hope we see Heidi back with her family soon. Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- 20.20 p.m. Thanks Angus and Jude. I've spoken to Sam and gone through the usual advice. I'll do various size posters a.s.a.p. and also email Scenting Instructions in case they are needed. Chip Co have been notified and details checked they are up to date. Have asked Sam if he can keep us updated on what has been getting done and if they get any sightings. - 4.15pm 14th August 2009 I have just spoken to Sam, Heidi's owner and still there have been no reported sightings of Heidi. Sam and wife Debbie have been out serching and circulating more posters and repeatedly calling the usual agencies in the hope that some news will come forth. Sam is convinced that Heidi will have gone to ground somewhere as she is very nervous of strangers and loud noises so he is hoping that hunger will soon force her out into the open. Very disappointing for all concerned. Jude - Bernese Welfare UK 01787 371940Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Update 12.25pm Thursday 13th August 2009. I have just spoken to Heidi's owner and I am about to circulate the details through all the internet resources available to the UK Bernese Community. Heidi escaped from her owner's garden in Saltney Ferry, CH4 0BQ on the evening of Tuesday 11th August. She panicked and broke through the garden fence due to her fear of gunfire that evening in adjacent fields. There have been no sightings. Heidi is 6 years old, spayed and has broad white (classic) facial markings. She is described as slightly overweight but in good condition and healthy. Her coat has been clipped short to about 1 inch all over. She is not wearing a collar but she is microchipped. She is very timid of strangers and not likely to approach anyone. Heidi's owner confirmed that all the usual local agencies have been alerted that she is missing. Please report any sightings to Heidi's owner Sam Mason on 01244 629179 or mobile 07973 285169 If you cannot reach the owner contact Jude at Bernese Welfare UK on 01787 371940Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Is there a name or contact number for the owner - or an e.mail address for them? We can quickly and efficiently circulate details through the Bernese Community across the UK as we have done so successfully for other lost Bernese in the past. Please let me know if the owner would like that done for them. Jude Simonds - Bernese Welfare UK bernerinfo@aol.com Tel 01787 371940Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
