Just when we thought we were getting somewhere we have been hit with the cruelest blow. Puffin was found dead yesterday. I can’t find the words to describe how we as a family are feeling. This includes my wonderful staff especially Louise who took over yesterday in my place as I just couldn’t function.

The last weeks we have been overwhelmed by how wonderful the people of not just my Spaniel world but the general public of Suffolk. Their kindness and help have been immense and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Suffolk Police who have done virtually nothing. No one seems surprised about this though.

We won’t be releasing details of how or where Puffin was found accept that it is not possible that she was there more than 2 to 3 weeks at the very most. We will now be looking at our options to pursue the matter under the Pet Abduction Act 2024 via a private prosecution under section 6(1) Prosecution of Offences Act 1985. https://www.facebook.com/100076355620858/posts/580306721191177/

A £1,000 reward is being offered for information which directly results in the recovery of Puffin to her owners.

Puffin a black and white Springer Spaniel went missing/presumed stolen on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd September 2024 between 13:45 – 14:00 from an enclosed site at Uggeshall Spaniels, Brampton NR34.

Puffin not only a much-loved member of the family for many years but also a valuable member to search and rescue, a recent mother of which 3 of her puppies are going to be trained by the UN rescue team. The father Fen is heartbroken without his best friend Puff, as is the whole family.

After not being able to locate her at 14:00 on 22nd September a extensive search of the area was carried out by staff and volunteers well into the night as well as reported to the police that afternoon. The search continued on Monday and Tuesday with additional support by Drone to Home Search and Rescue with their drones on both days.

Even with additional support from the greater community no sightings of Puffin have been reported, with maybe one exception at Happisburgh over 45 miles away on late Wednesday afternoon.
However; Amazon delivered a parcel at 13:47 on Sunday 22nd September 2024. The driver entered and left the site unannounced, he had to enter the site due to the size of the parcel delivered and where he left the parcel unattended.

As of Friday 14:00, after multiple requests neither Amazon, the Courier Company or the driver have supplied any details or come forth. When clearly the Amazon delivery driver could hold key information related to Puffin’s disappearance whether they are aware of it or not?

Unfortunately, it has been an eventful week at Uggeshall Spaniels as an intruder entered the site at approximately 21:00 on Tuesday 24th September triggering the security which alerted the staff on site and enabled them to chase them off.

The police response was rapid and where on the scene within 10 minutes but unfortunately were not able to apprehend the intruder following an extensive search. It is unknow if this was related to Puffin’s disappearance 3 days earlier or even what the intruder’s intension was?

We would urgently like to hear from the Amazon Delivery Driver who entered the site during the period of Puffins disappearance as you may well hold key information which you are not aware of?

We believe the driver accidentally let Puffin out or took her.
