- Hi 9 Vicarage Road, No worries. Until I had cats of my own, I knew little about them, until I read books bought for me by my Son, and Daughter-in-Law, and talking to professionals. Microchipping became compulsory in the summer of this year for cats over twenty weeks old, as a younger cat`s skin is too sensitive for the "Chip" As for neutering, cats reach sexual maturity at about sixteen weeks old; believe it, or not. I know of a cat that actually had kittens at that young age. Neutered cats don`t tend to wander too fare from home as a rule. If anyone is on low income etc, they can seek advice from Cat Protection re: neutering, and microchipping. It`s not possible to say that Nemo as gone seeking a mate; it`s just a possibility. Someone may be feeding him. Just because you cant see a cat, doesn`t mean they aren`t around. As you know with cats it`s all about scent. Hope Nemo is reunited very soon. Paws xd.Last edited: 2024-11-08 16:04:54 by TrudielovesMax!

- Is Neutered? If not may have gone seeking a mate, and has become lost, and disorientated. Always best to have cats "Snipped, and chipped" (I think it`s compulsory now to have cats microchipped now) And neutering tends to make cats more homebound. Check all outbuildings including empty houses, and cellars SEVERAL times as cats will stay very quiet,, and still when trapped; they are renowned for it. Bear in mind too that cats have very flexible spines, so they can squeeze into very narrow spaces (About 3" wide) Soa has Nemo managed to climb into a partially opened window, and is now trapped? Exiting can be more difficult; it depends on the drop. Put his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, and leave in the garden in a sheltered spot. You could leave out his litter tray, but beware other cats may use it, and it could upset, and confuse the cat. Take good walks around the area, holding an object with his scent on, and rattle some Dreamies; someone may be feeding Nemo (Common problem) Try a squeaky toy too. Is there a dominant catr in the area? As sometimes they will chase a less confident cat out of it`s own territory; however the chased cat will not return until the think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. Paws xd that Nemo will be reunited very soon x
