- Rusty in the local Dorset Echo newspaper: 28th December 2024
A FAMILY desperate to be reunited with their missing dog have put out an urgent appeal.
According to Rusty’s owner, Catherine Webb from Oakdale, her husband had taken their three dogs for a walk at around 4.30pm.
When they were making their way back to the footpath, Rusty spotted a herd of deer and bolted off in the same direction.
Catherine said: “My husband called him repeatedly for ten minutes, but when he did not return, he called me in a panic.
Shortly after Rusty went missing, Catherine’s daughter set up a social media page called Let's Find Rusty and hundreds of people have been sharing, commenting and helping with the search.
Since Rusty went missing, there have been six possible sightings of from Upton, Creekmoor, Wimborne and even Wareham.
Anyone who spots Rusty should call Catherine on 07926837660.

- Possible sighting of Rusty quite a distance from the original lost point. Locations are not to be given on social media, well meaning members of the public all wanting to help search could be the reason he has moved further afield.
Any sightings need to be called or messaged straight away to the owners. The numbers are displayed on posters around area. - 2024-12-18 23:19 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- There have been several recent sightings of Rusty over the last few days so local coordinator is advising owners regarding scenting and postering.
