- Brilliant! Welcome home, Olivia. It could have been that Olivia could smell food where she was found. Cats can smell scents from about three miles away; she may have got lost, and disorientated, or was chased out of her own territory by a dominant cat. Stay close now Olivia:-) Are you going to put her under "House arrest" for a few days, in case she goes awol again? But you know your own cat. xLast edited: 2025-02-04 07:51:23 by TrudielovesMax!

- Check all outbuildings SEVERAL times, as cats tend to stay very quiet, and still when trapped; the are renowned or it. Also cats have very flexible spines, so they can squeeze in to very narrow spaces (About 3" wide 6/7cm) So albeit Olivia is elderly, has she managed to climb into a partially opened window, and us now trapped? Exiting can be more difficult. Placed her UNWASHED blanket in to a clean container, and leave in the garden in a sheltered spot. You could leave out her litter tray, but beware other cats may use it, and it could upset, and confuse Olivia. Take good walks around the area, holding an object with her scent on, and rattle some Dreamies; someone may b e feeding her (Common problem) Try a squeaky toy too: cats can smell scents from about three miles away. Is there a dominant cat in the area? As they will sometimes chase a less confident cat out of it`s own territory; however the chased cat will not return, until they think it`s "Safe" enough for them to do so. Poster around the area, including post offices; shops etc. Post flyers through doors too. Hope Olivia will be reunited very soon. All xd.Last edited: 2025-01-22 20:39:37 by TrudielovesMax!
