- Hi, I think I may have Polly. She has a large lump under left ear which I take to be the wart mentioned in the post as well as a small black growth on her right eye. I will take her to the vet first thing to find her chip and hopefully reunite with you. This dog (hopefully Polly) was found on the the road just out side Sedbergh. A post on the local forum led to a reply from someone saying there was a Bedlington terrier missing from Basingstoke which I googled and found this post. Fingers crossed!

Emotional plea by Basingstoke family for finding missing dog
A devastated Basingstoke family has issued an emotional plea for help in finding their beloved dog, Polly, who has been missing for more than 24 hours and is suspected to have been stolen.
Rachael Hart, a resident of Old Basing, reported that her seven-year-old Bedlington Terrier vanished at around 8am on Thursday, January 30, near the Mill Field area, close to Bartons Mill pub.
Despite extensive ground and drone searches in woodland and surrounding areas, there have been no sightings of Polly.
“Polly went missing just five minutes from home, and she knows the area extremely well,” said Rachael.
“There is no way she’s lost, and the extensive searches have found nothing. The fact that there are zero sightings leads us to believe someone has taken her.”
The family, who describe Polly as an affectionate and loving pet, have reported her disappearance to the police and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
“Somebody somewhere knows something,” Rachael said.
“Please do the right thing and help get her back to her family. A dog is not just a pet – a dog is a family member, and we are all grieving her loss.”
The family is appealing to the members of the public to spread the word and keep an eye out for Polly.
Anyone with information is encouraged to report it to the police or visit DogLost.co.uk, where Polly has been listed as missing.

- Polly chases things yes but never have we known her to go down holes, and upon chasing something will always come back within a few minutes

- Drone search has checked the railway line and she’s not there. Currently the drone is searching the woodland and the area from where she went missing.
