There are no words that can describe the feeling of loss, I was the person who brought this special boy into the world and I just wish that there was a different ending, Kai was a very special puppy and he remained so up until his passing. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, and also many people who didint.  Rest in peace my special baby, you will always have a place in my heart xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you’ll always keep
A special place reserved for dogs
  when they quietly fall asleep
With large and airy kennels
and a yard for hiding bones
With maybe a little babbling creek
  that chatters over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers
  for those who never knew
about running freely under
  Your sky of perfect blue.
Lord,I know You keep this Special Place
And so to you I Pray,
For one Special Pointer boy  Who quietly died that day.
He was full of strength & love
  and so very, very wise.
He was my life, he was my prize. He is dearly missed my Lord
that very good friend of mine.
He went to join his ancestors
To Your land that is Divine
So, speak to Kai softly please
And give him a warm hello.
He?s a Special gift to you Dear Lord
From his owner, who loved him so.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoke to owner (they are currently on holiday) and beside themselves with what has happened.    Kai escaped from the garden of the boarding kennels shortly after the owners had left. He was followed on a quad bike but they couldnt catch him. and there were quite a few sightings during the first 4 days and people had been putting food down for him some got very close to him but he ran off.   I spoke to the kennel owners and they are understandably very upset and are getting lots of posters up .  The local people are aware and also helping.    A trap was put down where he was sighted last which was at HEYSHAW Sunday 30th August( he was fit and healthy when seen)  The trap doesnt appear to have been used so he may have moved on again. It is VERY rural which is hopefully safer for Kai if he stays around but he doesnt know the area as it was the first time owners have used the kennel.  Some farmers are aware ( and also been helping) along with local gamekeepers .  The kennel owners will be postering further out towards Blubberhouses today. Due to the area being popular with walkers (and some is quite remote) I have emailed poster of Kai to  people asking them to display or circulate in case he is sighted again :    Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue,  National Park Visitor Centres in the region , Ramblers Association ( Harrogate district) and outdoor pursuit shops I suggested to owner to contact Yorkshire Post  ( an ad is going in the local paper already) .  Suggested to kennel owner to try Menwith Hill (  some people based there use the kennels also) and to get a poster at Harrogate Showground.  Will text owner and update her. Keep safe Kai  and show yourself again !! Helenx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I  changed the poster contact no to the boarding kennels - as they are local and owners not returning until Tuesday in case Kai is sighted again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
