Our darling Kerry died on a railway line two miles from our home. Left with a trusted friend who is also devasted. We searched for you darling all your dog walking friends, night and day. We literally posted hundreds of posters through doors and left (YES WE DID) many posters on many posts and trees. You wouldn't have seen them  unless you knew all the walks, but there were hundreds. We loved you Kerry and our son and us and our friends are absolutly heartbroken. Goodbye dearest Kerry we miss you so much xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

She was killed on the Railway this morning :( So very very sad, we really hoped she could come back home safe and well. Rest in peace darling girl.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

when i phoned my offer to help look was declined, the lady i spoke to said that kerry had been sighted on a couple of occasions and was heading back towards home- the kennels is apparently not far away at all(about a mile). i did have a drive around anyway and saw quite a few posters but fairly localised in Gosmore itself but no Kerry. are there posters anywhere else other than Gosmore?- i didnt see any in St Ippolitts which is pretty close.can help by putting more up. I just listed her on the Julia Boness vets lost and found page and also listed there is a male beagle lost yesterday(Boness ref 1105) from Hexton road Barton le Clay which is pretty close as well so sightings could well have been either dog.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Circumstances:  She went missing from a local private kennel whilst owner was on holiday, they have now returned and put posters and flyers up locally. Although the kennel was only a mile from their home they believe she may have run away from Hitchin which is where they live.  She went missing in St.Ippolyts near Hitchin and could be anywhere around Gosmore, Preston or Stevenage. Kerry is wearing a collar with a tag with owners home number.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great News   Please Please get this dog a Tag.  I also foster for Ex Breeding Bitches and always tag them if the new owner does not arrive with a Tag I send them off with my tag on which has mobile and home nbrs on etc and when they get their own tag on they can send mine back.  I know you cannot get close to these dogs as they are so very scared but if the worst happened or they get themselves hurt or trapped you get the chance of a call rather than having to wait for them to be scanned.

geri's foster mum (mrsm) and new owner maxine are out looking.....they have posters now and are putting them up in the area.  dw and police informed.   very rural area so plenty of places to hide. please if you are local and see geri call posters no's immediately as she will only come to the people she knows trusts & loves...as an ex breeding bitch she is very scared Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars.., If you can go down there each day to check for your dog that is the best thing as they only have to hold a dog for 7 days before it can legally be rehomed or in some cases destroyed. It is also worth contacting the local police as if someone has found your dog they may well have contacted them.
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage.
if your dog is tattooed or microchipped, then of course state so in your posters, but remember to phone the tattoo and microchip people... get them to look up your details and confirm they have the best and most current contact numbers for you. And a backup if possible.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog? put the posters in waterproof jackets so they last much longer.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, lay by snack vans, service stations, bins, poo bins, shopping centres, take away outlets, pubs, lamposts, caf?s, leisure centre?s,??.basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? look up and call all local dog walkers and email them a poster if possible. in fact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found.
If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle.
Never worry about telling the same rescue/vets/dog warden more than once??it?s better they hear about your missing dog a hundred times than not at all??? visit as many places in person as you possibly can and have posters/flyers and plenty of brown sticky tape with you at all times.
Email your dogs poster to your entire address book and ask them to forward it on to theirs.
