Thankyou very much guys,
The dog on the website looks very much like a staffie, roxy is (or was!) a very slim fit dog and is larger than a staffie. She is more collie looking than anything else.
Really appreciate the help, it's hard sometimes to check every website on your own everyday!

Hello again  Smiley
I don't think it is roxy, there is not enough white on the dogs chest at you are right with the tail, this dog appears to have a curled tail and roxy's was just normal. I will send an email anyway for a little further information just incase!

00.05 a.m.  Sarah cannot believe it is over 12 months since Roxy went missing.  Hopefully one day her chip will be read and you will get the call you are waiting for.  You have worked so hard in your search.  Good luck.  Jan x Bumped due to being missing over 12 months.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, still no sign of roxy. I have emailed all the dog wardens in the lancashire area today with pictures of roxy, maybe something could come of that but I am still convinced someone has took her in but has not thought to get her checked at a vets.
Fingers crossed I might be luckier this year and find her!

Had a message from Sarah of another possible sighting. Dog fitting Roxy's description has been seen at the Coppice in Accrington, unfortunately the lady who reported the sighting got close but her own dog scared her off.  Family have spent time searching and postering the area.  Hope this is Roxy.  Good luck Sarah.  Jan x Bumped due to sightings.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just wanted to update, still not much luck. We had a sighting f a dog like roxy a week ago in oswaldtwistle running across the road by the tesco metro. Posters are around this area already but not heard anything since.
We had a possible sighting of her on friday night near to the coppice in accrington (heading towards burnley road) following 2 young lads, the dog wasnt on a lead and seemed frightened of cars which roxy is. Unfortunately the person her sighted the dog was unsure as to where the dog went from there and we searched the area but found nothing so unsure if someone has got her in their home.

Thanks dollydoodah and welcome on board DL.  I've just spoken to Roxy's family and alerted them to your post.  Roxy does not have any white on her tail or paws only on her chest.  The previous sighting of a possible match was in the area you mentioned and it is not her.  Family are still checking around there.  Thanks again for looking out for Roxy, I have sent you an email.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Does Roxy have a white tip on the end of her tail? I only ask as I have seen a dog very much like her in Ewood, Blackburn (I know your area pretty well).  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the link to the national lost pet register, ive sent the finder an email for more details of the dog but not heard anything as of yet.
Talked to the lady at the vets today who sighted a dog, shes doesnt think it was roxy but will be putting a few posters around for us. We couldnt see much ourselves either from the area.

Thanks for the email, glad that midge was found!
My boyfriend lives just down the road from the sighting, if she is there I am going to really struggle, its rough (and i mean rough) down there. The number I was given is for a vets so I will ring them in the morning and ask them if they still have details about the sighting. Sounds very much like roxy though.
Will keep you updated
Thanks, Sarah x

Thanks everyone who is looking out for Roxy.  Visionvalue I will take a look at the site now and alert Roxy's owner to your post.  I was out yesterday on a sponsored walk for RDR and Owner did ring me in the morning to alert us of the found dog on RDR, after speaking I contacted RDR to check she was in the kennels I'd advised owner to check.  Thanks Coryn (RDR) for keeping me updated and well done to Roxy's owner for following it up and checking the found dog out. Had a text today from owner Roxy has been on the Lancashire Radio again today, thank you to the station for putting her details out on air again.  Keep up the brilliant work Roxy's family.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Text from doompig: Few ppl rang today saying they sighted a dog that looked like her, however appeared not to be roxy. Been to manchester dog shelter and she wasnt there. No luck with the follow up of the girls sighting. Had a sick phonecall too but not going to get into that. A frustrating day so far to say the least.  x doompig keep up the brilliant work it will pay off you just need that one important call. Re the crank calls sadly some people have nothing better to do and sorry family have been getting these type of calls, I have given them some advice on what to do if they persist.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

23.30 p.m.  Just received the following text: A girl informed me today that she had been stroking roxy yesterday in the church, accrington area. There is easy access to there via the leeds-liverpool canal. Will be postering in tht area in the morning, was too dark by the time we were informed but had a search for her. Hopefully this is the lead we were waiting for.  Thanks for the text doompig and fingers crossed you get more sightings.  Do contact the DW for the area and check if anyone has reported her in the area.  Good luck.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Apparently, she was actually hit at around 4.30pm on sunday which is around the time she went missing. Unfortunately noone has come forward sayin they have seen her after that incident.

Owner, sorry to see Roxy is missing, thanks for registering her details on DL can you upload photo/s or email to admin@doglost.co.uk any problems with a photo please let us know. How has she gone missing, from home or on a walk? You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).  Once the posters start getting circulated hopefully you will get the call you are waiting for. Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.  Great that she has been Chipped contact the Chip Co to report her missing and check your details are up to date.  If you get any sightings let us know or if she is reunited with you.  Good luck and hope Roxy is back home with you soon.  Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
