Hi jan, helen & everyone who helped us find midge, I could not have done it without all your help, can't believe shes home we never want to go throught that again, we are off to the vets tomorrow to get chipped, I put an advert in the manchester evening news, that how we found her, I spent most of last night looking at her, midge says hello & thanx, I received a call from a lady who has seen a border collie in Blackburn.  She saw a border collie with a black body & tan cheeks thinks about three years old, good shaped body with tan hocks, looked lost, I just thought about roxy, if roxys mum wants to talk to the lady Jan has her number, lets hope its her.  Good luck & thanx again luv jean & midge x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had one happy owner on the phone to say Midge has been FOUND.  They put an advert in a Manchester paper and got a phonecall last night from someone in Salford, they found her approx 2 weeks ago.  She had been the vet and well looked after.  Owner is over the moon and they will be getting her CHIPPED a.s.a.p. This has made my day, thank you to the finder and those who have helped in the search for Midge.  Hopefully we will be getting a reunited photo, welcome home Midge and over to the BLUE you go.  Thanks Jean for letting us know, you worked so hard in your search and it has payed off. I'll email everyone later this evening to let them know she is now reunited with you.  Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

00.15 a.m.  Thanks dinkydoodle and furlover, owner is going to go further afield with the DW's as it may well be she has been taken out of the area now.  I've explained how to find their numbers.  I'll email Midge's poster to more DW's later today as too late now.  Fingers crossed the media coverage will go further out as well and bring some sightings.  Midge has also been on the radio.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If this girl has been picked up by someone visiting or selling at Gisburn they could have taken her with them and then handed to THEIR local dog warden service so think dog wardens that cover areas in a wider radius could perhaps  be notified if not done already.   ie  Blackburn, Accrington, Chorley,  Bury , Preston, Lancaster , Skipton . I do hope this girl is found and back home asap   Helen x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Email from owner to post on their behalf: She was picked up around 12 noon on Sunday 13th September on the A59, at the bottom of Sawley, there was a green estate car, it looked loaded up, could have been to Gisburn car boot sale, been to car boot sale today handing out posters but no joy, ringing Clitheroe Times tomorrow hoping they will write a story on her. Thanx  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner, they are doing a brilliant job searching for Midge and have been out searching and postering the area.  They put a board up near their house and have had phonecalls in response to it: Midge was seen being picked up by a green car, possible an estate heading toward the Preston area possibly last Sunday.  If anyone has picked Midge up it is law that they report her to the DW etc.  Owners also put a paid advert in a local paper which owner said was a disappointment, the photo was very small and sadly has not brought anything, Owner is going to get in touch with the paper tomorrow to see if they will put a story in.  I've given owner some DW's contact numbers to try and see if Midge has been reported to them. Owner is not very computer savvy but will try and leave an update.  Jan x.   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a little beauty Midge is.  Hope she is spotted soon. Keep going back to where she first wandered off as dogs often return to that point and hang around. Good luck..

Hi, bit of a long shot but I was on my way to college today in Barton and I drove through longridge and I caught a glimpse of a straying dog that looked very similar to midge. I don't want to get your hopes up but it isnt impossible that she has got to there from chatburn.
The dog was on the pavement but went towards a house, so it may have belonged to them but its worth the look around and putting poster out there.
Hope this brings you a bit closer to finding her!

Spoken to owner, Midge has gone missing about 20 mins away from home and could possibly be making her way home.  She was sighted on the A59 By Pass, a helper tried to coax her but she ran off.  Family have been putting posters up in the area, DW and rescues have been contacted.  I've updated details, added a mobile number and Midge is Spayed.  An appeal has been requested for the radio and papers.  Various size posters will be done a.s.a.p. and also further/advice emailed to owner.  Jan x   Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner, sorry to see Midge is missing, thanks for registering her details on DL. You need to poster poster poster the area as much as possible, we cannot stress enough the importance of the postering.  Posters can be printed once a photo has been added by selecting Dog Poster 1 just above Dog Information (you must be logged in).  Once the posters start getting circulated hopefully you will get the call you are waiting for. Contact DW's, rescues, vets and leave a poster (you can find vets in the area by clicking on the logo right hand side just underneath Latest Missing photo).  Dogs can be rehomed after 7 days, try and visit rescues do not rely on phone calls alone.  If you get any sightings let us know or if she is reunited with you.  Good luck and hope Midge is back home with you soon.  Jan x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
