Just bumping this one up again so owner can verify if it is Hogan or not. Should hate him to be rehomed if it is. http://www.strayaid.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=859:d183-09&catid=11:coxhoe&Itemid=17Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

http://www.strayaid.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=11&Itemid=17  Please have a look at this one as due to him being out for so long he is bound to be wet and scruffy as this one is but the markings are very similar. Escrick isnt far from Durham for a dog its 73 miles by road which isnt much if you get picked up by car. This has been posted today in Stray aid under D183-09Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- to get that I have just copied and then pasted from the browser bar - hope it works.

It is a site i have used a lot and even the links I have used in the past are not working. We will keep trying to view this dog ~ PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kelly these sightings are very promising ! The latest sightings seem to be within a more concentrated area. Have you been mapping the sightings out ? If you do this it will help you track his movements and also see if there is a pattern emerging. Come on Hogan its time to go home xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Many thanks for keeping him high profile.  I will certainly contact the Dog wardens. We have another possible sighting a women who works at Askham Bryan Agricultural college sighted a dog fitting the description in the college car park.  He was with a women who had let him out of a grey/white car.  The reason she noticed was because the car was very small and the women was trying to get him in the boot!  The dog was very reluctant. I have e-mailed pictures to her and she is sure it was him  Waiting to hear which day this was and also I know it's a long shot but if they have CCTV.  In some ways this would fit with the area he was heading on the Saturday. Will cetainly get posters out and spread the word.  Selby Times are running a story on my Mum!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kelly thanks for the updates, have bumped him up due to the possible sightings of him.  Keep up the postering and spreading the word out as far as possible.  Any sightings you get contact the Dog Warden to see if any have been reported.  Good luck.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Quick update.  Our friends have been out putting posters up around the local area and helping to look at all the dogs homes Helen has suggested and a few others.  This weekend we have covered all of them but no luck unfortunately. Although we were feeling dis-heartened my Mum took a call tonight from a young girl who had seen Hogans poster in the local PO.  On the 4th October at 2.30am when she was travelling home a large, dark dog ran across the road from Stillingfleet to Cawood. Heading maybe North West. Sorry don't know number of road will check tomorrow.  Many thanks.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to update you all on the Hunt for Hogan. Mum has walked the footpath twice and put some tuna out for him.  No sightings.  She has given posters to the local parish council.  On the advice of Helen she has given posters to all the golf courses and Strensall Barracks.  The chap she spoke to there was in charge of the dogs he gave her the name of a kennels in Copmanthorpe and they want 12 posters to give out! Loads of people in her village have been in touch and are all looking out for him. As for me I have e-mailed a poster and picture to all dog wardens apart from Leeds who were particularly unhelpful and said unless the dog was lost in Leeds they would not take my details.  I will be complaining tomorrow. Posters and photos have been sent to all of Helen's leads.  A kennel in Ryedale e-mailed back saying they would put posters around a dog show that is happening in Malton.  I also contacted the Yorkshire Post other websites.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to daughter of the owner who has logged Hogan on D.L. and is dealing with the searching/postering. I have asked if we can have a couple of pics   ie side profile and a "face/chest" shot if possible  (which she will get into admin asap). Hogan went missing on a walk Wednesday afternoon down a footpath which is near Escrick Mine  ( a fairly regular walk)--  he was "mooching" around but then he disappeared its not sure if he has spotted and chased after something.  Hogans owner stayed and searched around for 3 hours but he didnt return.  The area around the mine has been checked and a local gamekeeper said on  Wednesday he saw a dog similar to Hogan and tried to grab its collar but he was bitten so had to let go and the dog ran off in Wheldrake direction They are going to go and check again in the area he went missing and put some food down in case he is still around.  Lots of posters have gone up  in the area around where he went missing and a little further afield already and also given out to Tesco delivery driver locally.   There was a call to York Dog Warden Thursday 1st October approx 2.30pm saying a dog was seen wandering on the grass verge of the A64 / A1237 which would be Strensall heading towards Wigginton.  it was only little later when dog warden got there but couldn't see a dog.  They are aware and will keep a lookout, but I do hope this dog veers away from this busy road. If this is Hogan he is on the move .       Owners are doing a fantastic job already, notified dog wardens, loads of posters are up in the area surrounding where Hogan went missing and went and postered where the sighted dog was- Wigginton.    Selby dog warden is being really helpful !!  Have advised other places to contact and check, and also info re 7 day rule with stray pounds so they will be checking in person with them. I am also emailing list of stray pounds and rescues around the area that owner can  check I do hope this boy is found asap . Stay safe Hogan Helen x    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
