When I saw Mike had tried to call me I was almost scared to hope for the best in case I 'jinx it!' but fantastic news, and further proof that MASS postering is the beginning of the campaign in every case, and it highlights just how many we have to put up, making that doggy face appear everywhere. Looking at the herbie storyline he was almost certainly trying to make his way home but terrified, he was actually quite close to home poor little soul. For right or wrong at least the girl who took him in cared for him enough to take him to a vets and without that important link it could have been a good while longer before someone spotted her with him and put two and two together as they would have. Great team work at vets and Vet college - hope you will be able to scan every time now and there might be some different endings to these stories.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Whooo Hooo !! Just got in - have been out all day, but Fly and Kate rang on my mobile this morning. I am over the moon that Herbie is home. I just had an idea that someone would want to keep him. He is so adorable. Well done Team Herbie and well done Fran and Mike for taking heed of advice. The posters worked again, but thank God for the microchip and the vet who scanned and also had the poster up that Kate sent through. You DogLost girls have really worked AGAIN for this lovely little chap, and I'm thrilled for Fran and Mike, and herbies sister. I would like to have seen the reunion between those two. I take it Herbie has a shiney new tag and will not be let out of sight now along with his sister. We will never know what made him stray, but it only takes one half a second to spook a dog, and it will be off. It can be absolutely anything. This is also the fear with firework night coming. I am dreading it, but at least Herbie is home safe before that. Love to herbie, sister, Fran and Mike, and am looking forward to seeing a reunited piccie. Also fran and Mike, many many thanks for the very kind donation, it will be used to help other dogs home, and thank you for staying on as helpers. Thats wonderful news. Welcome home gorgeous Herbie xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Herbiesmummy
Herbie is back - entirely thanks to DogLost and MicroChipping!  And especially Auntie Katie!
We had a call from the RSPCA Cambridge branch this morning to say he had been bought in by a girl who had him ’dumped on her door step’.  Auntie Katie had given the clinic a poster, the vet recognised him and scanned him and he is home. Funnily enough the girl’s ’friend’ lives in Orchard Park, where we postered yesterday which fits exactly with the Parlour report.  So thanks to you all we made him too ’hot to walk!’ - as Yasmin told me to do!
You are all wonderful, and now to take those posters down.!
Many many thanks - donation on its way and our time to help look for anyone else’s dog in the future.
Fran, Mike and Herbie xx

Hi All Just back from a mammoth postering trip around Histon Road, by the entrance to the stables right sown to Iceland and Aldi. I have done some of Arbury, Kingsbury apartments, the playing field and all those shops opposite the tyre place, plus bus shlters and lamp posts and anyone walking dogs. So I hope people start seeing them and remembering Herbie. Well done on your postering Mike & Fran - you're doing all the right things hoep you get a break soon. Will try to do some more tomorrow if he isn't home by then. Fly xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone,  Thank you all so much for the support and help.  We have been putting lots of home made posters up and are now starting on the wonderful ones from DogLost.  I have rung all dog wardens, vets, kennels within 50 mile radius and am starting to annoy them I think with my phone calls.  Herbie is a dear little dog who is so missed by us all so thank you.  I have had to go to work today so will take tomorrow off and COVER Cambridge in posters.  Thank you once again. Thanks for email Hazel..have contacted all the people i know in Cambridge BUT it isnt that far from where 'possible sighting of Buffy' was so maybe worth a 'look from a distance' in that direction?? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much Auntie Katie. I will send you posters when they are done but owners are using their own at present. Do feel free to give them a call on the number on the DogLost poster on the page, if you would like to. If you open the poster up the number will be there, but you have to be logged in properly. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to owner and given advice. Will send normal documents by email, and owner will send photo in to admin@doglost.co.uk. Owners have put some posters up and informed the authorities and local vets, but hundreds more posters needed quickly, plus media coverage if possible. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
