I am so very sad to hear this news. God Bless and RIP beautiful girls. My thoughts are with their family
Meru
So very sorry to hear this - RIP Storm and Gale xx
Auntie Katie
This is just so sad, I'm so sorry for the owners and Helen who have all been trying so hard to get this pair home. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see, The sun will rise to find your eyes are filled with tears for me. When tomorrow starts without me, understand you must, An angel came and called my name, in her I placed my trust. Perhaps God tires of always calling the aged to His fold, And so He picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we love them and so He picks but few, To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view. When tomorrow starts without me you’ll ask yourself, but why?, For the saddest words that mankind knows will always be "good-bye". But I’ll still be watching over you, never to depart, When tomorrow starts without me, I’m still there in your heart." Run free at the bridge girls! x Last edited: 2010-05-24 19:45:36 by Auntie Katie

How truly heartbreaking - I am so very sorry. Shame on that gamekeeper, especially as these lovely dogs are often used as gundogs. My thoughts are with dear Storm and Gale's owners at this very sad time. Run free at the bridge you beautiful girls - my black lab Fergus will be waiting to play xx

I'm very sad to report that the owner's now believe Storm and Gale were shot by the local gamekeeper soon after they went missing. The owner's are certain of this. Rest easy together at Rainbow bridge. So sorry xxx

Been and replaced old posters with new ones (on different colour paper to make people look again!) around Eastbridge/Minsmere woods - still no signs of dogs though.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have been over to Eastbridge today and met up with local helper Paw (thanks Paw) who knows the area well. We walked some of the many footpaths and also renewed some of the posters. Everyone in the area I spoke to were aware of these two dogs. Dropped off some flyers at a pet shop in Theberton and also postered some of the Theberton footpaths. Hopefully we will hear some news soon xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Jotty for pointing this out. The area these dogs were seen in is THEBERTON, very close to Eastbridge woods where the first sighting wasLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My parents have a house in this area and are down there at the mo so have been keeping a look out. They are coming back to Essex tomorrow eve but I'll let them know this latest sighting incase they are anywhere near there tomorrow. My dad saw the security guard from Sizewell last week and let him know about Storm and Gale. Was it Theberton they were seen in rather than Therton? Fingers crossed they are back soon. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good luck with this Helen. They have been missing a while, so if had been in the care of someone all this time, it is possible they have got out again. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bumped due to a possible sighting yesterday. The police called the owners at 10 o'clock last night to say there were 2 labradors in the THERTON area moving from Moat Road over to Onners Lane. This is very close to where they went missing from. Owners went out and searched the area but sadly saw nothing. I have alerted local helpers in the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to the owners and sadly there has been no news of these two. I have suggested that they contiune postering the area but moving further a field. Also suggested another advert in the papers just to make people aware these two are still missing. Their profile needs to be kept high, someone somewhere must know something. Hopefully we will hear some news soon xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone put posters other side of Sizewell (Thorpeness/Aldeburgh) just in case they have wandered off in the other direction?  They've certainly gone to ground or hopefully been picked up but not been checked for microchip.  Hope they turn up soon - it will be a lovely walk going to take down the posters!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Put up some posters at parking spots and where footpaths cross around Eastbridge/Westleton/Minsmere, but no signs of any dogs anywhere.  Hope someone sees something soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you Paw for your offer of help I will forward the posters and flyers on to you. I was out at Dunwich last Wednesday handing out flyers on Dunwich Beach I also put up a poster at Westleton at the main information site where most people would go to watch the deer ruttingLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've walked through Eastbridge woods 3 mornings now and seen nothing - did see something cross the road near cottages on corner near Scott's Hall on Saturday evening (dusk) but assumed it was a muntjac (I didn't know the dogs were missing at the time - I only saw the small poster on Sunday morning).  If I can print some, I will take more posters out as there are none beyond the beginning of the woods (Eastbridge end) and it doesn't take very long to get through to Westleton and Dunwich.  There are a lot of people about at the moment to see the deer rutting so hopefully more posters will help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I drove around area (woods, etc.) last night but as it was dark, not easy to see anything.  However, have put posters up in Leiston Co-op, Leiston Waste Collection Depot, Aldeburgh Newsagent, Noticeboard in Eastbridge, and around area.  Also took flyers to the Eels Foot pub in Eastbridge - they had one but I've given them more to hand out. I'm bumping them up as they were featured in the Star on Thurs.  Do hope these girls are home soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to the housekeeper/dog walker this morning and sadly there has been no more sightings of these two. He was out all day yesterday walking the areas that he takes the dogs to. He will be out again today in a different area. We really do need another sighting of these two.All local people are aware of Storm and Gale thanks to the many flyers that have been handed out. Come on girls time to come home xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have managed to contact the lady  (4.45p.m) who rang HQ about a possible sighting today. Although she did not see these 2 dogs she heard a lot of barking in Eastbridge woods. We cannot rule this out as this was where they were seen yesterday. I have contacted the warden at Minsmere Nature Reserve as they do checks around the area daily Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There has been a sighting of both dogs at Eastbridge Woods at around 10.30 (thanks to the posters) The owner was straight over there, but didn't see them. Good news that they are still in the area. I have been over there today and have handed out flyers in the surrounding villages. Stay safe you two xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 Poster and flyers created for Storm and Gale, and emailed to co-ordinator Helen for distribution. I hope these two lovelies are home soon. Someone may have them and be waiting to see a poster go up. Owner, do get hundreds out as quickly as possible. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have spoken to the owner and Storm ran off with her daughter (dog i.d. 20183) from home. They have done this before but have always returned, they were seen a couple of days ago at Eastbridge Woods which is close to where they went missing. Dog wardens have been notified and there will be an advert in the local paper. I have advised to poster the area heavily and put an alert out on the local radio. I have E-mailed General Information sheet, contacts for Suffolk vets and Rescues Centres. Stay safe you two until you are found xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
