the eleven days bruno was gone were awful for us and it really helped to know there were people out there who really cared and wanted bruno home and safe as much as we did. we cant thank everyone on doglost and in the local area who went out their way to look for him enough for your help and support without you all we may never have got him back. thank you so much xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

he was found hiding in hedges! we had a few sightings so were searching the area he had been seen but there was no sign of him anywhere, and we would have never found him if it wasnt for a local game keeper who knew about bruno and came to help. he let his dogs sniff brunos lead and they ran straight to the spot bruno was hiding. daddy went to the rescue and crawling through the undergrowth and barbwire on his stomach to pull bruno out. bruno has been checked over by the vet and apart from a couple of sores on his paws and being a bit on the slim side he is doing well. we are taking him to training classes when he is all better so he can meet other dogs and build confidence.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi terri, have you any updates on bruno has he been seen again around brooks road or the bridleway? I have heard nothing in this area but keep telling people about him so have not give up hope yet, please let me have some posters if you have them i think the more people know about him the bigger the chances of finding him.

I’m not in the area but will email and / or fax as many places as I can find. This is message I got re Bruno He was sighted today and yesterday, still in the same area.
Terri (his owner) has contacted everyone i think but extra posters will surely do no harm. I’m hoping to arrange to meet up with some folk and take a look..i’m not very familiar with the area though. If anybody could help or give ideas it would be most appreciated.
A trap has been put out by a local farmer but it doesnt look like he will go in to it
Do hope poor Bruno soon realises evryone is trying to get him home.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi terri, thanks for keeping me informed about bruno, sorry that sighting at friendly lodge farm was not him, lets all hope he turns up somewhere very soon. I will keep my ears and eyes open and continue to let people around higham ferrers know he is still missing. If you need any further help just let me know but i think you have done all you can now we just have to sit and wait for him to appear, take care of yourself and try not to worry. x

Sorry Terri only just got on today as i'm not well, but thats good news thats he's staying in the same area, sort of narrows it down some. Maybe he's bedding down in a barn or something on the farm might be worth asking them to look around, and get there tomorrow morning early in case he pops up againLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Terri, will the farmer let you set up a den and some food for him? Hope you received the info I sent about approaching scared dogs as if anyone else is involved in catching him they will need to know this too.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Terri
bruno has just been seen at friendly lodge farm on station road raunds. he was outside the farm house and when the woman saw him he ran off down the track towards the entrance to the farm. we have been there and cant see anything the farmer had a drive around too. it was a friendly lodge field he originally ran too when we lost him on thursday so he is staying around the same areas.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Your more than welcome. Just a thought Terri have you postered the BP Garage and Mc Donalds, also just round the corner is that new car wash in the football ground car park alot of local people must go there as its quite busy might be worth letting them guys know and giving them a poster so they can spread the wordLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Terri, i've emailed a standing one to dog lost, mine is female but it does show that they look nothing like a lab. Now if his tail was not like the one i've emailed and more curley let them know as i have a male with a tail but he's B+T but they his could combine his tail with the females colour if that makes sense. Also would he by any chance answer to the whistle, mine took to the whistle very easy and it can be heard from a long way off?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Terri
thank you all for your comments any help will be fantastic im on my own looking tomorrow so if anyone is free and would like to help me it would be much appriciated. phone me on 07971823228. brooks road animal sanctuary know he is missing, he was seen friday afternoon whimpering outside their gates so we hope he is staying around the same area. we had a false alarm tonight people phoned us saying they seen him in the distance and kept him in sight till we got there which is great and what we asked but it was a chocolate lab that had ran out its garden, it quicky ran back in!!! we spoke to the owner and apparently its always popping in and out, so maybe the picture of a brown dobe standing could be helpful we dont have any of bruno standing because he would never stay still long enough to take a nice one. thank you again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Terri, I've emailed some information on scenting and the best way to approach scared dogs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Terri
he was spotted this morning around 9am on station road near napleton lodge we caught up with him and followed him into a field near friendly lodge farm but by the time we got near to him he shot off. he is very nervous and spooked he recognised his name being called but continued to travel away from us. i would strongly advise if anyone does see him to try and keep him in sight and phone us. we are guessing he is staying quite close to this area and brooks road possibly using the bridleways and old railway tracks to travel between them.
