Great to have an update on how he is Becca, this is welcoming news.  He is a young boy and will get through his op, especially with all the TLC that we know he will get when he is back home.  Will be thinking about him tomorrow.  Good luck Alfie, hugs and kisses from us all.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone We visited Alfie today and Im so impressed with his progress, he was walking around so quickly. His leg is all bandaged up but he knows not to use it so he kind of carries it. The vets confirmed that it was his leg with Arthritus that is is broken, which is good news that his remaining leg is his normal leg. We have been told that he will probably get more arthritus in his leg but I think he has proved that he is strong enough to cope, so were positive. He has the operation tom, which im a little nervous about but I know he will be fine. Craig is off for a couple of days so there wil always be someone home with him.  Were so excited to have him home.. I cant wait Thanks to both Jackie and Jan who have been great and helped us find Alfie  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks guy for your comments. Poor Alfie is gonna be in the vets all week. His injuries were caused from the car that hit him. Im so glad we found him as he was missing for 6 days and any more with the state of his leg could have been more fatal. He will be having his operation on Monday so fingers crossed he will be home with us soon after..   Thanks Becca Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So pleased he has been found - but really sorry about the leg. I do hope it can be saved, but Alfie is young enough to get through this well, and will come on leaps and bounds now back with his family. Sending healing thoughts and lots of luck xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just spoken to Jackie from Thames Valley BR, She has just told me the good news, however I understand the Alfie's leg isn't in a good way. Got everything crossed that they can save his leg. At least he's safe and in the vet's where they can help him.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just come on line to print off some posters to find this fantastic news. So pleased he has been found and hope Alfie will be Ok and that his injuries are not too serious.  Will let Moor Cottage vets know when I visit shortly and take great delight in taking down any posters I see during the day.  Look forward to reading update. Alfie has been FOUND.  Just had a phone call from Becca.  He was hiding in the undergrowth of a large property not far from Becca's home, owner called the DW who contacted Becca.  They went there straight away and called him he came out to them; he has injuries and is going to the vet's, Becca will update us on how he is. Thanks to everyone who has helped and to the home owner and DW. Great to be moving him into the Blue and will be saying a prayer for him.  Good luck Alfie.  Jan x  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry Bexta - should have said Hedge Lane runs between Old Priory Lane and Maize Lane.  Name was changed some years back when all the new houses were built and the road was cut in half!  Maize Lane and Old Priory Lane run down onto Warfield Street.  There is also access into Priory Field (where you have already postered) from OPL. Good there have been more sightings.  Fingers crossed he is home soon.  As already said, let me know if you want me to do some specific postering tomorrow. Carole  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Evening every one   There has been several sightings of Alfie in the Priory lane Goddard way Warfield. Thanks for the advice for the posters and the areas to focus on. Im not familiar with this part of warfield so the advice is apreciated. My partner has gone back out tonight and several people have gone to join him. He is putting posters through doors and more laminated posters on lamposts.   Apparently he does not have his collar on any more (were not sure why). But the people who have spotted him have mentioned that he is trying to play with their dogs so this is great news that he is being his usual freindly self Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Bexta - well done with all the postering. I have seen them everywhere today.  I am in Warfield - just off Warfield Street - so will keep my eyes open when out tomorrow.  If there is any specific area you would like me to help with posters please let me know 07771643316.  Might be worth continuing into Old Priory Lane and Hedge Lane (the cut through from OPL to Goughs Lane) as many dog walkers along there. Had another call and looks like Alfie was definitely in Warfield on thursday, was seen in greystock road and goddards way which are both very close to each other. There are some quite large houses in this area off priory lane and, if anybody is away he could be hiding in a garden. We are going to look down there tonight and put flyers through doors.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have forwarded the posters to the following vets Kynoch, Moor Cottage and Nine Mile Ride. Would be worth the owners making sure that the vets email spam filters didn't grab my emails as spam.. The only other kennels I can think of are Pine Ridge and Binfield dog rescue. I have emailed one in Hurst. I don't know where dogs from this area would get taken to if picked up thou. Hope Alfie comes home soon  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Vet nurse that belongs to one of the Boxers boards I'm on has posted it to the Vet Nurse web group she belongs to so if any nurses are on there it may jog their memory if they've had a Boxer brought in, in the area. Kindest Regards Kirstine  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have emailed all my friends and my Boxer people who've got pups in the rough area to pass on Alfie's details and posted to all Boxer boards that I belong to. Might be worth seeing if the local radio stations might put announcements out for you. Will email my friend who works at the ryslip kennel as she used to have a Boxer and see if she will put a poster up in the shop there. Hope you get him home soon Kirstine and the Boxer crew here.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I was told that Alfie was actually lost in Bracknell not Newbury and that he is Brindle and white not red and white. From the head shot I have he does look brindle but the brindling isn't as heavy as most typical brindles (if that makes sense)  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Photo cropped and reloaded.  Further details:  last seen in Calfridus Way, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12, where he was hit by a car. He already has a limp on one of his hind legs and has swollen front legs due to arthritis. He is normally a very friendly dog.
