Shirley4collies.  Thanks for the crossposting to your website. Just one small correction.  Anyone reporting a sighting or any information should NOT phone the wiccaweys helper number you have on your website.  Instead they should phone any of the three numbers given on the posting below and on the new poster given here.  ThanksLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is indeed the Mandy who went missing before and then returned. She has now gone off in different circumstances. She is a rescue dog from Wiccaweys on foster and is the sister of Margie. She was taken by her fosterer to Somerset to help search for Margie-Molly.Unfortunately she was spooked. broke loose and ran off. (4/1/10) She was wearing a collar(colour lilac) and ran off trailing a lead (retractable type) attached. There were sightings earlier, but none very recently. At first she was in the Creech St Michael and Walford Cross area, but may now be further afield. She is very nervous,Not aggressive. If seen please do NOT approach, but observe where she is and where headed and phone 07941419963  07941419961 or 07905203254      Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mandy has now returned to her home, She ran off but stayed in the vicinity but was nervous if approached. So many days and nights were spent observing her and luring with food and keeping her from running further afield.   Finally Mick and Julia, two volunteers, on their return from holiday went to look for Mandy and when Mick lay down and made puppy noises Mandy came running to him and she is now safe with Mick and Julia who are fostering herLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Wiccaweys
She is still on the run, but seems to be definately close to home and keeps heading back to the Ambulance to hide under it.
As soon as she realises we have spotted her she is taking off again pretty sharpish though.
Ambulance has now been turned into Fort Knox with only one way in and out - the route she has been using.  Hopefully next time she takes up residency we will be able to block of the exit route.
Eleanor, Baz & Pluto are heading up to Cuddle Corner to see if she has gone back up there again.
Sharon, Little Brynn and Tich are walking the fields nearest the road to dissuade her from heading that way.
Paul & I have come for 20mins to see if she will head back for the ambulance with the yard 'quieter' and then we will sneak round and check it out.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Wiccaweys
Paul was out at first light and there was no sign of Mandy about anywhere. We got on with doing the normal routine before starting to search again.  Then Paul had a thought.  He walked back to the yard to check the old open front barns opposite Mandy's room.   As he was walking that way he heard a noise an spotted Mandy holed up under the Ambulance.  So she had come back to the yard.  We think she was there all night.
She took off again when she realised she'd been spotted, but we are feeling better in the fact that she is sticking to 'home'.
She headed to the hedgerow by the trampoline and towards the veg patch.  We aren't going to push it now.  She is probably holed up again and watching us.  So once we've finished sorting the rest of the mob, we'll just potter about as normal, and probably sit by the table with Margie and lots of cheese.   I'm going to give the vets a ring at 9 and ask for some quick acting sedative, which we can put out in food for her when we spot her again.   We're not out of the woods (or hedgerows) yet, but we are feeling more positive this morning.  Paul, bless him, looks like death warmed up.  He's not had any sleep.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

e mail from Wiccaways:   : Wellingborough County: Northamptonshire Land between Wellingborough, Great Harrowden, Little Harrowden and Hardwick.   Mandy got spooked, slipped her collar and ran off during her walk.
Very, very nervous.  Will run if approached.
Sighted still in the vicinity of Wiccs HQ, we suspect she is trying to make her way home.   Sticking to the fields she knows.  Last sighted about 4pm in the fields surrounding HQ heading for 'Cuddle Corner'  dog walking sitting down spot.   Turned and ran back towards HQ, but didn't come in.  Probably holed up in a hedgerow.     Paul has been out with the gamekeeper tonight with Infra-red sight, no sign of her as yet.  Will be out later when light completely drops with Night Vision goggles.   Contact number: 07905 203254 Contact names: Sarah & PaulLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
