Oh no!! Poor Stanley! God bless and keep you gorgeous boy.   You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you’ll always keep
A special place reserved for dogs
  when they quietly fall asleep
With large and airy kennels
and a yard for hiding bones
With maybe a little babbling creek
  that chatters over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers
  for those who never knew
about running freely under
  Your sky of perfect blue.
Lord,I know You keep this Special Place
And so to you I Pray,
For one Special Beardie
Who sadly died that dayLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It was indeed Stanley's collar. Owners are so grateful for all the help and support received, and can now grieve for their boy. Thoughts are with the owners at this time. Run free at Rainbow Bridge Stanley. R.I.P.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have heard from Patsy the terribly sad confirmation that it was Stanley's collar. Run free xxx

Have spoken to owners, too, and as you say, HC, we have to wait for further news on Monday. Sadly the description of the dog found does sound very much like Stanley.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately there has been news that a dog fitting Stanley’s description was killed on the railway on Nov 1st. It is not 100% certain as yet, until the owners can collect the collar on Monday, but it is looking very badpoor mite, whoever he wasxxx

This pic is said by the owners to be virtually identical to Stanley, they say it could be him. Only difference is very slight - the grey could be a little lighter. All owner has is traditional 'hard copy' photos, nothing digital. Owner has got something in the local paper, so hopefully it might bring in more sightings.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Wondering if there is a possibility of a real photo of Stanley.
Possibility of getting it on Cornwall cam. Is there anything going in the loxal papers for the area?

Owners have been been all over the area of the possible sighting with the other family dog who, judging by his behaviour, appears to be picking up Stanley's scent, and trying to track him. Despite all their efforts, however, there has been no further sign of him. They are continuing to search and scent this area, which has very dense undergrowth, as well as extending the area postered.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I postered & leafleted a little there on Sat.but if no more have been added it will need more. Unfort. I can't get up there today.Various dog walking grassy areas etc & a stream, lots of houses.

Thanks, Zim, that should help get the word around. Still the odd firework going off here, should calm down next week. We need a sighting of this lad.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Stanley is described as very sociable with people and dogs. When the fireworks have subsided, and it is quiet again we will, hopefully, have some sightings.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Zim and Alison - your efforts and help are much appreciated. Anything that helps to spread the word, and raise the dog's profile with the general public is invaluable. Am hoping to talk to Stanley's owner later for an update, as she has been out postering and searching again today. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just come back from St Austell. We handed out flyers to Tesco shoppers and then put posters up on telegraph poles. People were very keen to hear about it and promised to keep an eye out. One lady took a stack of posters to put up where she lived and also in her shop.People who lived in the same  and adjacent roads to where he went missing were unaware so we have spread the word a bit! Hi,
found Jeris website and e-mailed, her classes are near Bugle, as I said I don't know area that well, but think she lives in St Austell.
Will get on to NAWT now to let them know if nobody has done that already. Presumably RSPCA St Columb have been notified?

Thanks HC for all your help with postering. If there are any more volunteers either in, or able to get to St Austell, Bugle, Carlyon or surrounding areas, I know owner would be very grateful for the extra help with postering, etc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks all so much for your telephone calls, support,  kind words and welcome advice.  Am off out now to put up more posters and apologise if I am hard to get hold of and have not returned all phone calls.  We are trying to get the message out there in every way we can. It will be wonderful if we find Monty as well as Stanley on our search.  Patsy. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is so difficult for you, and my heart goes out to you and I am praying you find Stanley soon.  I wish I could be of more help, but am way up in the Midlands. But you are all in our thoughts. Mike - wonderful offer of help from you, it must be really traumatic for you to see another beardie missing in Cornwall.  We are still all thinking about Monty, and maybe this search will jog a few memories. Come home Stanley. Please.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, As the owner of the other lost Beardie in Cornwall - Monty - I will be only too happy to assist Stanley's owners in any way I can,  and will be only too pleased to contact everybody that gave their unstinting help over all the months we were looking for Monty - I'm sure they will be happy to help again.  If the owner will post a telephone number, I will make contact as soon as posible.
