Two more dog boarding kennels in your area: Colinette Farm Boarding Kennels, Brasted Chart - 01959 563 559 Leacroft Boarding Kennels, Main Road, Westerham - 01959 574 761 Also, make sure you contact the local stables in your area (I can think of two but don't know what they are called). Many of our lost/stray dogs find their way to stables as they offer peace, sanctuary, water, etc. You and your family would know your immediate area better than me and I'm certain there are more than just two! Also, display a poster along Sheepbarn Lane near to the entrance of the travellers' site.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Polly, it was nice to speak with you again this morning and I will arrange for your daughter to receive the mini-flyers we spoke about (they will be sent to her email address). The larger A4 poster is already available and, if your daughter needs help to print this, please get her to call me on my mobile number and I will talk her through it (she does need to be logged with to DogLost with her email address and password). As I said regarding the mini-flyers, I tend to have these printed/photocopied just in black and white but on brightly-coloured paper - I found bright ORANGE to be the best. Visit places like supermarket car parks and place one under the windscreen wipers on each and every car (plus hand them out to shoppers). Do the same in local pubs as the regular and local customers will have plenty local contacts and will be a a mine of information. And, don't forget to visit, cab offices!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jan, you were quite right! I was in work and NOT a chance of me logging on there (manic doctors' surgery!). Thank you CopperM for spotting the possible match - I'm so sorry it wasn't Flash but hope Dave soon finds himself a nice new home, as 4 months is too long for any dog to be waiting for a new family. Polly and family, sorry it wasn't Flash but at least this proves that our wonderful DL Helpers are keeping an eye out for your boy and are on the case!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

CopperM, I can see why you thought Dave was missing Flash. How similar they look - it must be Flash's younger brother! As I said, thank you to everyone who's helping to look for Flash. Polly, did you check out the kennels/vets I mentioned previously? And what about The Retreat animal rescue? Have you been in touch with them? I will look up their details and post a contact number/address on here.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

POLLY, it's good to see you posting and thanks for giving us the location of where Flash went missing from. I spoke to Woodlands Kennels, which I suspect you have also done. Have you called Brambletye (Cudham Lane) and what about Darwin Vets in Biggin Hill? I believe there is another kennels nearby (I'm aware that Buckhurst Farm Kennels has now closed) which I think has greyhound connections - do you know of this one? Also, there one further out in Brasted (between Westerham and Sundridge) but I can't recall what it's called (perhaps someone else will know).Make sure you also phone Foxgrove Road Vets in Beckenham (better still also send them a poster) as they provide 24/7 out-of-hours emergency cover for most local vets, including your area. Their number is 8650 2003. Did you speak to the Street Cleansing dept in both Councils - Bromley & Sevenoaks, making sure that they logged Flash's details and gave you a reference number (the latter is very important). Bromley Council's street cleaning dept is 020 8313 4557. In fact VERY few of our missing dogs are injured on our roads as they are far more clever than we might think, but it's just a good idea to rule out that scenario. Please let us know or post a message here if you would like some mini-flyers. We would love to be able to reunite Flash with your Dad, who must be missing his companion.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Flash went missing from layhams road (king Henrys Drive end)
He has not been neutered and is very friendly. Thank you all dog lost volunteers, Flash belongs to my dad who is78 and he is obviously very upset. If anyone does manage to find Flash there will be a reward given.
I  think I have phoned all boarding kennels in the area but someone must have him.
Thank you everyone for your help and support.

Thanks Crazy Caz! I don't know exactly where Flash went missing from and I'm hoping that I've got the road name correct (as I added it in on his details). The person I spoke to said that there were football pitches opposite where they live and they are also near to some warehouses (does this ring any bells?). If you have access to a printer, Flash's Missing posters can be printed off by clicking on Poster 1 (top, left of his page), above the words Dog Information and just to the right of the yellow Lab 'Please Donate' button. You have to be logged in to do this. Thank you for looking out for Flash as he's an oldie and shouldn't be out on his own at this time of year, although someone may have taken him in and won't know his family are missing him, until they see the Missing posters.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello
I know this area very well and go past Layhams road twice a day... can you be a bit more specific when you say off Layhams Road where you mean ??  I could also put up some posters if any are available.

I have just spoken to Flash's owner who told me that her daughter is the person who registered him on DL. Have given some advice. I have also spoken to the nearby kennels which happens to be Woodlands at Westerham Hill (which is not far from Keston) who have been instumental in reuniting some of our missing dogs (thank you Woodlands!). They will make sure that Flash's details are also passed to their other kennels at Chevening. The owner said that Flash has never wandered before - seems he just disappeared from the yard. Someone said that they thought they saw him outside in the road but this hasn't been confirmed. I suggested some mini-flyers and that if they needed some done to let us know. The person I spoke to didn't know all the places that had been targetted but said she would speak to her daughter. I forgot to ask whether Flash was 'entire' but got the impression that he wasn't neutered - perhaps his owners could confirm this.  They are quite close to the boundaries of two local authorities - London Borough of Bromley and Sevenoaks District Council and soo owners need to make sure that BOTH Councils and their dog wardens are aware that Flash is still missing. POLLY, would you please update us on here so that we know what's been covered so far. Wishing you luck in finding Flash!  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
