OH what fantastic news !! having spoken with her owner this morning before i set off to visit relatives i was over the moon to see she has been reunited during the day as i travelled. ...especially after all the worrying thoughts tht someone may have found and kept her!!  It just shows how even dogs as young as Gyspy  can manage to fend for themselves. Welcome home lovely girl and stay safe from now on xxx PamLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to John again and he assures me Gypsy is fine. Bless her, what a resilient little puppy she turned out to be. Welcome home sweetheart and thank you John for the offer of a donation.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I would like to thank all the great advise from the gang on this site, gypsy is only 8 months old and I was beginning to lose hope that I was never gonna get her back, After speaking to one of the co ordinators I was assured even though with all this bad weather she would probably seek shelter and her natural survival instinct would kick in. I was so sure she had probably been taken in by a stranger and they had decided to keep her. After a huge amount of work putting up posters and trudging the streets putting flyers though letter boxes i got a phone call this morning from a vet I had approached a couple of days ago about gypsy to say that she was sure a dog that had just been handed in was her and asked me to verify the chip number. Anyone who has lost a dog will tell you the feeling of relief when your dog has been found. Gypsy had gone to ground and appears to have been living on the streets for nearly a week. she had found a shed and had taken shelter in there despite the freezing temperatures she survived and apart from being a little thin was perfectly fine. She is still a pup and it just goes to show that dogs are alot stronger than we give them credit for. She is curled up in front of the fire after a big bowl of tuna and kibble and fast alseep as I type this. The advise the gang on here gave and re assurance i got helped immensley and anyone who has lost a dog should not hesitate in contacting this wonderful website.   Thanks Guys.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just had a long conversation with the owner. Gypsy was in the garden with their other dogs and someone has opened the gate and let them all out. Owner rounded up all the other dogs but Gypsy was nowhere to be seen. She was seen being chased by 2 teenagers but has disappeared without a trace. Posters have been put up, vets, rescue centres, dog warden and police all contacted. I have suggested doing a flyer drop around nearby estates and am going to send scenting instructions in case she has gone to ground.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
