I am so sorry to read this, poor Bramble.   ?nfortunately the munjak deer are well able to protect themselves when cornered..my own Boxer was very badly kicked and gored by one that was caught in a fence..it escaped but my dog had severe injuries, she did survive. A friends dog has also been very badly injured by one cornered. Run free, little girl, and my condolences to the owners.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So very sorry that this is the news on dear Bramble, owners and Jacks & Springerjane have worked so hard to find her. It seems that she died doing what she loved most - chasing deer. To the lovely man who went out of his way on several occasions - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts you have enabled these poor owners to bring dear Bramble home to rest, I cannot say anymore it is just so sad xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

few dogs really get to me these days but something about Bramble did make my eyes leak.   I'm so so sorry we didn't find her sooner, but I'm glad you have her home with you where she belongs.  I know she'll be looking down on you from Rainbow Bridge and I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you found her.  Thank you to the lovely man who called. Run free at the Bridge, dear Bramble xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It is with deep sadness we did'nt get the outcome we wanted Bramble was found on the central reservation of the bypass she had'nt been hit by a car but had been gored by a deer,a man saw her there on boxing day and when he saw her in the paper he rang them 3 times to tell them but nothing was done (thumbs down for them) the gentlemen came passed again and Bramble was still there this time he saw one of the posters and contacted the owners, he even offered to show them where she was a big thanks to the gentleman for bringing closure to the family, they have now bought Bramble home where she belongs, both the owners and i have been driving up the bypass many many times looking for her but of course we were looking in the fields so that is how she has been missed. You will be sadly missed Bramble and i'm so sorry of the outcome, God bless you Bramble and i'm sure rainbow bridge will have lots of things for you to chase. My thoughts are with the owners at this very sad time.

Have spoken to a gamekeeper i know and he told me that muntjac or chinese water deer if in a panic will run for a good 30 mins b4 literally outrunning their bodies and dying from heart failure. this potentially could take Bramble further than has been thought so far, so i think further afield needs postering too. Have arranged to meet up with Jacks tomorrow- probably at Bonny's house- that part i dont know yet, am bringing loads more posters and flyers of both dogs to distribute.would like to know all of the places so far postered/leafletted so we all dont double drop & get them listed on a map so its easier to see where to go from there.  Jacks has my number if you would like it. Have Chiltern Dog Rescue been informed about Bramble?? They are very close to where she went missing and I know they walk their dogs around the lanes by the woods where she went missing. I put some posters up in a popular dog walkers field in Ashridge/Frithsden area today. Have there been any sightings yet?

Owner - See new lost dog ESS Ebony (Bonny) - she's missing in HP4 as well - would you be able to work with owner - twice as much ground covered if both of you are postering?  Worried this isn't coincidence now.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Getting her publicised is fantastic, keep that up - and keep on with the postering, it really is the key.  If you're already getting false reports then it means that the word is getting out there and people are seeing her face.  I have a boxer x just like her and they are very stubborn i agree!  Keep up the positivity! xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everybody,  we would just like to thank you all so much for your support, it's overwhelming and so comforting to know that we have an army of sopporters helping us find Bramble. I have spoken to the local paper and they will put her photo and info on the website and hopefully their free paper. We had a couple of false leads yesterday, including a local farm holding a tan and white dog, who'd they had for 2 days, and not told anybody! they even said we could have her! it was unbelievable. We refuse to believe the worst, and are adamant she will come home- she's always been a stubborn little dog! thank you again for your support, the Gilberts xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

jacks get the owner to call the council back and insist they take the details - if no joy then complain to the head of environmental health.  has that road been postered both sides?  are there stables or farm buildings along the road, if so look there because dogs often shelter there - stables have food and manure that dogs can eat, water and shelter... make sure all stables/liveries/farms are alerted.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thanks very much for replying the bypass runs from aylesbury to kings langley so she has gone missing in the middle of it really i guess it must be about 25 miles long but all along both sides of it is mainly farmland or fields herts dw has been very helpfull but if she has gone towards aylesbury that would be bucks and they was'nt helpfull they would'nt even take a phone number as it was'nt their problem we desperatly need a sighting of her as at the moment it's like a needle in a haystack

jacks - if she's loose she could be trying to get home.. i can give you scenting advice if you want to email me on denise.ford@blueyonder.co.uk - but we really need to get sightings of her.   keep up the postering, if she's been picked up then we need someone to tip us off.  xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bramble went missing in pancake woods while chasing a deer normally she would return but did'nt on this occasion there are a lot of fields surrounding these woods so the area she is missing in is rural and you also have the by-pass at the side of the fields owners have been out searching each day and covered quite an area it's possible she could have been picked up on the by-pass they have driven along it both ways and there is no sign of her she is a friendly dog and would go up to anyone they have also taken their other dog with them when searching she would also know her way back home the word is out with lots of dog walkers that have been told and flyers have been put through doors is there any more advice i can give them?
