- FURTHER DETAILS
hi jane
thanks for your email.
cocoa is a crossbreed, short-haired brown and white collie (her mother is a pointer, her father is a collie, her maternal grandmother is a collie who disappeared one day and came back pregnant). cocoa has a white tip at her brown tail and four white speckled white paws.
cocoa weighs around 15kg, rather thin because she has been staying at my parents for one week, where cocoa’s mother lives. cocoa and pie runs around together a lot on walks. cocoa returned home in cowden with us last sunday.
very unfortunately, she was not wearing her red collar on the day (5 january) she went missing.
we were snowed in yesterday but my husband, mark has gone to his office in london today and will print out the dog lost posters. the area missing is TN08 edenbridge.
cocoa is not a qualified hearing dog for deaf people but mark and myself are profoundly deaf and have relied on our hearing neighbour, janice who lives at cowden, kent. on tuesday evening, janice has phoned the dog warden, police and vets as well as the ’last chance’ animal rescue centre.
living in hope but obviously i am very upset.
your help would be much appreciated, specially that both mark and i cannot hear the telephone.
please keep me informed via SMS.
best wishes deborahLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18 - 2010-01-07 09:35 CJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator

- Sorry to see Cocoa is missing. Please could we know the dog's breed, sex and see a photo aswell as this will enable the poster to be produced.
Firstly contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres?local council stray dogs holding kennel give them all a detailed description of your dog with any distinguishing marks/scars..,
Get postering now?..as quickly and as many as you can physically manage. make sure you offer a reward on the posters.
POSTER POSTER POSTER!!!?I cannot emphasize how important this is, from the posters you will get sightings and lots of extra pairs of eyes looking out for your dog.
Poster bus stops, train stations, supermarket/retail park car parks, pet shops petrol stations, basically anywhere people go you need to poster like mad so nobody misses them? ask in as many places as you can if they will display a poster for you.
Tell postman and binmen and give them a poster so they have your phone no handy? infact tell every single person you meet while searching as the more people know the much better chance of getting your dog back quickly.
Contact the local newspaper and radio stations? take out an advert with a photo in the papers pets section lost and found. If you believe your dog has been stolen then it is very important you contact the police for a crime reference number?. And the postering publicity should have the aim of not only getting your dog home but making it too hot to handle. Good Luck.
