Thanks ellejay,  I agree the advert seems very strange.  I also think its a little small to be Buster but it is quite hard to judge his size from his picture (his mum is sending us some more).  I've emailed the link to his mum for a double check so will update you when I hear from her.  Also emailed a possible link from Ashmark so will keep fingers crossed on that one too! x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a male yorkie up for sale on Pets4homes..for ?300, in South Yorkshire
though Buster looks like a Standard yorkie, this one looks abit smaller.
Thing is this ad screams out to me ’ not right’ ...they have said they have shaved the dog because of the weather !!!!
Also in the pics there is like several different dogs in each pic and they are stating its the same one..
worth a look ?

Thank you for posting Silver Clarity,  I know what you mean about judging people,  I find myself looking at everybody with a dog and wondering where they got it from! I'm sure people think I'm a dog stalker!  On the plus side,  if it is Buster he seems to be taking care of him and hasn't just passed him on.  I've text Buster's owner's to let them know you've seen him with the same dog again and I've also asked if there is anymore picutres she can post for us. His owners are desperate for news and finding it very hard to cope with how he could have just vanished in to thin air as he appears to have done.  I hope, from your possible sighting and with the CMW this week, we get something positive to give them. I feel bad for judging a tramp......but I saw him again with very tiny yorkshire terrier.  He caught the bus from Huntingdon bus station to St Ives at 4pm on Tuesday. He must live in St Ives.  I doubt very much it is buster as he doesnt try to conceal the dog atall. The dog is very well groomed, had its hair cut and it now very short. The dog is very very tiny. Just thought I would mention it. I'm so sad that Buster hasnt turned up yet.  There are so many Yorkshire terriers about and its hard to tell the difference.  Is there another picuture of Buster?  Maybe a bigger one? got everything crossed that Buster turns up soon.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had text from Busters mum,  there has been no other sightings of Buster and they've noticed that lots of the posters are being taken down.    They are going to try and get him in the local newspaper again and they are hopeful that his microchip will eventually bring him home!  Stay safe little Buster! x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not heard from owners for a few days - have sent text for an update,  suggested replacing posters with a "still missing" one so people know that they need to keep an eye out for him.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Even though the tramps dog WAS a yorkshire terrier and not a JR, and even though he had a dark head, I've had an uneasy feeling about him being the owner since I spoke to the man and the dog.  I'm away this weekend but I think you should go into St Ives and see if you can track him down. The tramp had bright blue nail varnish on, was playing the harmonica very badly, and was very defensive when I spoke to him.  He asked me for money but I just gave the dog a big chew. Am really sad for you and have my eyes about me all the time.  I work in Huntingdon so am on the look out there too. Is he a nervous dog?  Am praying for his safe return.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I live in St Ives and have seen all the posters of Buster. I too saw the tramp with a yorkshire terrier on Saturday 23rd January.  I was concerned it may be buster, so I went and spoke to the tramp/busker.  I asked the dogs name - he said it was Mr Jangles.  The dog was very tiny and a bit nervous.  He licked my nose and jumped came to me to be petted.  I gave him a chew that was too big and the man said he would cut it up for him later.  The dog had a green jacket on.  If it was Buster, the man was very stupid as he was busking right next to Superdrug which had a poster outside the shop.  The town was full of people and he was there for quite a while. I must stress the dog was very very tiny - didnt look like the picture.  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bumped - due to possible sighting in St Ives Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owner had a call to say that Buster had been seen in St Ives yesterday with a tramp so rushed in to town, the tramp was gone but people had seen him but he was with a Jack Russell,  they were told that somebody had seen a yorkshire terrier a few days before without a coat but then seen again the next day with a coat.  Owner thinks it unlikely that this was Buster but has done a poster sweep of St.Ives.  Have remailed vets, dog wardens and shelters etc to let them know Buster is still missing Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Buster's owners have been out postering,  re-walking the area he was last seen in and making him aswell known as possible.  they have contacted the dog wardens, vets and rescue centres and will be handing out leaflets at local tesco's and other busy shopping area's tomorrow.   Have emailed scenting information to start in area he was last seen in.  Have notified local dog walking group and added his details to facebook page. Fingers crossed somebody will give us news on this little boy soon! x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A4 Poster and flyers created and emailed to co-ordinator Auntie Katie for distribution to owner and contacts. The flyers are excellent as handouts and for posting through doors. Hundreds of posters and flyers needed as soon as possible and please be sure to poster all the pubs in area and furthet afield and all places that people meet. Hope you can get some media on this as soon as possible too. Also leave  items of owners clothing with scent, and smelly food at last place the dog was seen. Good luck in finding him soon. Spoken to Buster’s owner,  he was missing from the car when they got home,  have been back to where they had been but there was no sign of him.  They will send in picture as soon as they can.  Have emailed documents, they have contacted the dog wardens and Wood Green and have advised to do this regularly.  Have also received an email regarding Buster so the word is spreading "LOST from car Houghton village, between Huntingdon and St. Ives, Cambs. 10.01.10. ’Buster’ Yorkshire Terrier entire male. Black/grey body, tan head, legs and chest. Long hair. not coarse but scruffy and dreadlocky in places. On the side of his rib cage you can feel a lump, almost as if a bit of bone is sticking out. You can only feel it, not see it. Small dog but big for Breed. 5/6 years old. Red tartan collar with blue round tag. Microchipped. The night he went missing he had a red tartan coat on with velcro ties across the belly and chest area."
