Words fail me.  My heart goes out to the owners of two wonderful dogs who have innocently strayed onto some complete arsehole's land.  He must have such an inferiority complex about himself that he needs to act in such a way and seek power with his shotgun.  Please, for the sake of any other dogs in this area, make it known to the local police that this trigger happy bastard obviously is not of sound mind  and he must have his firearms/shotgun licence revoked to protect the safety of other animals and humans he might just take a dislike to.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What an absolute b**tard!!! To think that these dogs could have been home and safe within hours if the farmer had only contacted the owners makes it just awful. I hope the owners try and pursue this with the police (which is hard when they must be devastated!). He should be made to think twice before he does this again.    Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I saw the fate of Buster and Bee Bop early this morning, which upset me.I didnt post then ,purely because there was more to this than just finding the two dogs bodies.I am sorry to thier family that they lost thier dogs in this way,  Im sure they were beautifull boys. Now though ,i am upset and angry that the farmer knew who these dogs belonged to and made no attempt to get them home.If it were one of his animals wandering he would not expect it to be shot. Rest easy dear boys at peace at Rainbow Bridge.xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is really awful, and makes me so sad. I've got several farmer friends and they all say that shooting is an absolutely last resort - which is also the law. I actually feel the right to shoot dogs should be taken away from farmers, full-stop. I would also make this particular farmer's life a misery, but I'd better not elaborate. I'm sure the owners are distressed enough. But I would ask them to pursue it, through the courts if possible. It won't help them or their dogs but it might make this man think twice.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Buster's owners have asked me to post the horrific end that their beloved Buster and Bee Bop have had to their lives. After spending a week of searching, postering and visiting stray kennels the owners received a tip off that a neighbouring farmer had shot both their pets on the day they vanished. A witness had seen him and an accomplice loading the dogs bodies into a vehicle. They confronted the farmer who at first denied this but eventually admitted what he had done. The police have been involved and its sincerely to be hope they take action against this man. The shooting of a dog should be reported by law !!Something has to be done to stop people like tbis who think they can just shoot dogs for being on their land and even worse in this case knew who the dogs belonged to and who could have notified the owners thier dogs were on his land and asked them to come and collect them ASAP !! As you can imagine Buster and Bee Bops owners are devasted to have lost their beautiful boys in such a way. Our thoughts are with them and may Buster and Bee Bop rest in peace together free from  people with shotguns xxx Pam  Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Devastating news. Poor babies - they were so young. God bless you sweethearts.xx

We’ve known lots of pleasure,
At times endured pain,
We’ve lived in the sunshine
And walked in the rain.

But now we’re separated
And for a time apart,
But I am not alone-
You’re forever in my heart.

Death always seems so sudden,
And it is always sure,
But what is oft’ forgotten-
It is not without a cure.

There may be times you miss me,
I sort of hope you do,
But smile when you think of me,
For I’ll be waiting for you.

Now there’s many things for you to do,
And lots of ways to grow,
So get busy, be happy, and live your life,
Miss me, but let me go.

I have spoken to Busters owner who says he had been playing on her property around 4pm on 4th January and then he and  Bee Bop a brindle Neapolitan Mastiff  ID 21514 just vanished. They found their paw prints in the snow going off across countryside but unfortunately snow fell and covered them up. Owners have been contacting and visiting stray kennels both locally and further afield and  Dog wardens are also aware. Hoping for some news of Buster and Bee Bop very soon xx Pam Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
