thank u paul, ye i saw that i check lostdogs, gumtree and missing pet uk and other site everyday, someone heard a men calling on a dog called STAR and it was a white&black springer spaniel up in pencatland east lothain, about 3weeks ago a lady and a man caught the a dog that had been running about and the lady asked the man what was he goin 2 do with it and he said he would hand it in 2 police, but he never, stars onwer took pics 2 the lady and she was sure it was STAR they caught, so were thinkin someone has her but they are keepin her not relazing how much she is missed and the kids ask about her ever day

Hi - there is a found dog on Gumtree, found in Dalkeith, very little details but says 'it could be collie cross', long shot but if you dont know your breeds then Star maybe could be mistaken - might be worth checking out http://edinburgh.gumtree.com/edinburgh/01/56203601.html Hope shes home soon x

UPDATE STAR is goin in thursdays evening news edinburgh, we went and put one of her toys at the area and goin 2 put a coat down with keiths sent on it my dads goin now 2 check 2 see if her toy has been touch and im goin up 2 look after iv delt with the wee one.

Leigh, you certainly should keep Star on Doglost, as many of the dogs on here are, in fact, stolen. You could alter the posters you have for Star which I sent to Keith and alter them to say stolen, send it to someone with a printer who could print off one for you, and then take it to be photocopied at any shop who does photocopies. Most little mini-supermarkets do them quite cheaply.

hi there SABLE,  Leigh here, we are thinking our STAR has been stolen now, the family was wondering if she would still be keep on lostdogs when we report her as stolen not missing, we are out everyday walkin about seeing if anybody has her were not giving up on her were putting her back in paper next week, i was wanting 2 do more posters as stolen but i cant get them done as iv not got a printer... thanks from Leigh :( :(

UPDATE got a call on the 03-02-10 saying there was a dog like star at the top of woodburn a few days ago we think this could b STAR as the dog was tryin 2 get 2 the ladys white van and STAR used 2 go everywhere in my brothers white van when he had it, but that was a few days ago, the ladys dog gave STAR a fright and she ran, she went in2 our local paper y2day so FINGERS CROSSED THERES MORE SIGHTINGS AND SHES GETS HOME SOON WHERE SHE BELONGS,

Have spolen to Keith tonight, and have been on the beach at Bookers, and round the back of the building, also been to Musselburgh Links, have met some dog walkers and asked them to be on the lookout for Star, have printed off posters.

Spoke to Keith today and he was telling me that there are three different sightings of a dog thought to be Star in the Mussleborough area. If anyone lives near there can they please look out for her and call the owner, owner's sister or try to catch her, although she will be extremely reluctant to be caught now. People in the area are all aware that Star may be out there and still on the loose. There have been no definite sightings lately but that does not mean she is not still there.She is a timid dog and will be frightened and more nervous now that she was before, making it difficult to  sight her. Hope there is some news soon.

There have been separate sightings of Star - one at Vogrie and one near Temple.  Star's family are not sure if it was definitely Star but they are checking it out.

Great news that there have been sightings.I have spoken to Keith this morning and given scenting advice, so he is going out to do that today and going out at night with a lamp. We are so glad there have been positive sightings, as we were all starting to think the worst.

There has been a sighting of Star at Fushiebridge which is about 1-2 miles from where she went missing.  The team out searching today are away up to search the area.

I have now spoken to Star's owner & have added his contact numbers. Please contact Keith on 07710997768 or 01316638216 if you can help to search for Star. She is a friendly dog. There have been no sightings so far. Keith has done everything possible to find her.Posters have been distributed and  DW  has been informed.Please look out for her.She has a collar and pink tag on, but it has the wrong phone number on the tag.

00.10 a.m.  Email in Admin: Hi I am trying to register my friends Dog that went missing on Monday 18th January 2010.  She is a springer spaniel Black and White, her name is star.  She is around 2 years old, she has a Short coat and is of a medium build.  She went missing from a place called Gore Glen in Midlothian scotland.  Please help. There was a registration waiting to be activated by friend who emailed the above to HQ but Star's details had already been registered 20.01.10 on DL.  I've uploaded the photo from second page and merged for the poster.  Friend has been informed by email and sent the link to this page.
