janiejewel1649 Yes, microchips can move. We have an electromagnetic cat-door, and I think that due to our cat's magnet his chip moved to just behind his magnet against his throat. One of our vets said that this was not a problem, but I feel it vital that when scanning for a chip people should scan the animal ALL OVER. I can't remember if this is what the halo scan does. Interestingly, we recently had to change our cat door and as our vet suggested we got a cat door that worked with a microchip, I looked into it with Cat Mate, and (1) they said that they didn't make this type of cat door for large cats (Kg7) and his brother was bigger (v large cats where we live in the south of France) because they are the exception and not the rule, and also that even if they did it would not work for an animal whose chip had migrated to another place (they had never heard of this). We bought the same cat door again as we have been very satisfied with their products, which withstood two very large cats clanging in and out for eight years!!!

Over the moon to receive owners message just now that Suzie is home. She was found in woods and taken to a vets where she was scanned.

Wonderful news. So happy for you. But why oh why was she NOT checked for a microchip by the rescue centre? Normally it is the first thing they do. Does anyone know if a microchip can move? Stay safe now Suzie:-) :-).

Wow fantastic! But WHY hasn't she been scanned before. It's a very rare dog that manages to go four years without vet treatment, so she should have been found way before this!

All the same I will be thinking of her owners in the morning - Christmas has come early for someone!

AMAZING news after all this time, not long logged on and seen the post on owner's fb page being shared. There are so many long time missing being REUNITED lately after being scanned and MICROCHIP details coming up. POWER once again to the CHIP. Just read on Help Find Suzies the Staff! Facebook group that she has been found in Leicestershire by her chip being checked and owners are to collect tomorrow.
I have asked them to confirm this when they have her.

Just had a lady ring who thinks she may have suzie after checking on doglost and seeing the photo. This lady got her from a rescue 4 months ago. have put finder and owner in touch with each other.

Im so sorry that you still havent found her. I am still looking out for her. Do keep trying Forest Lodge kennels as they are always having staffies in, and they dont properly check lost dogs. Go in to them with a picture as often as you can.

I've rang the lady about Roxanne and its not Suzie, Roxanne only has white toes on her back feet and is not micro chipped. i think i may have done something wrong to your message and reported it instead of replying to it, sorry, thanks for telling me about Roxanne she looks so much like Suzie

I only know one person who lives in Thrapston area, will give her a ring & get her to look on here. Has our traveller liaison officer had a look round the usual places do we know? If it's the same chap (forget his name) he is very thorough & goes where others may fear to tread.

Owners have visited a few places today and given out more posters. Also had some more calls coming in from the papers ads but none have led to Suzie yet.

Owners have had a call from yesterdays advert, a sighting of a Brindle Staff in Thrapston. Owners have driven around and postered the area and the cattle market.This isn't too far from where she went missing. If you are in the area please keep a look out for Suzie.

Suggest you call  Forest Lodge Kennels every single day.  My friend's lost dog was posted on here & she rang FL kennels every day, but they kept saying they hadn't got her dog until one day a member of staff saw her picture on here & realised they had Suzie after all. She had been picked up by a man who was later arrested & the dog, thought to be his, was taken to FL kennels & recorded as a "Prisoner's Dog"  Make a nuisance of yourselves, it's got to be worth it.

Suzie was stolen during a break in. She was with another dog who was not taken. She has already had publicity on the radio and in the paper. All relevant people have been contacted and lots of posters up. She will be in the paper again on 11 and 12 February.
